Road & Rail: $UNP, $ODFL, $WERN, $CGI. - richard9f: $KNX Might be breaking downtrend with a few more closes above the #200sma. Tried this level in mid Dec and failed, but now coming out of tight vs after bouncing near the 50ema, and the 8/20/50mas are now trending up. May be its time to play catch-up with other truckers like $WERN, $JBHT, etc.
- jasper: $WERN - Reports after the bell - 12.81% short interest - broke top BB on Thursday, probably on $UPS beat, and traded back to middle of range on Goldman Friday - In trucking industry where, if you believe we're growing out of recession, should see some upside. Near the highs of last three years with a 1.7 billion dollar market cap. Earnings plays carry a lot of risk.
- jasper: $WERN - Since I mentioned it this morning I felt I should follow up. They reported after the bell and missed the 16 cent concenus by a penny on y/y. Traded in tight 67 cent range thru day closing at high of $23.86. I didn't listen to call but press release talked about how they saved money on fuel and increased revenues but blamed weather (red flag to me) for not doing better. Bid/Ask at time of post is $23.15 and $23.30. Not too promising for tomorrow unless shorts (12.81 %) get shaken up. Volume was a little heaver at a little over a million shares compared to around 3/4 million on 10 day average. Hope nobody got hurt on this one.

Some interesting charts in concert with the rails. $JBHT is a bullish engulfing candle off the 50dma, five weeks of consolidation, OBV and accumulation look strong, yesterday's volume pretty good.
