- phgruver: @Docoof $STNG #Tankers Not all #Tankers are created equal. $NAT reported on 12/2, and missed expectations by 20%! ...OK, it was only a penny, but in this environment, how could they miss at all? Only $.05/share? I know $NAT was originally designed to "loose" money, but make significant cash flow off depreciation, but this is getting ridiculous. "When you see money laying on the floor, pick it up!" (I think that was Warren Buffet, but I'm not totally sure.)

Right now, his Suezmax takers are making over $90,000/day, and that premium seems set to continue for the next year. Back in 2016, $NAT was trading between $15 and $16/share on a lot lower day rates. I wonder if there's much chance of it getting back up there...?

The host may be drinking a couple of drinks but nobody has come yet. They are at the pub, waiting to go to the party later. The stress hasn’t even begun to be put on the product-tanker market. “What we are worried about and I’m sure some of the other people here are worried about is that this gets too good. This could get crazy. We cannot do the mathematics now to get required [future] demand for products to match the ships able to transport it.”

- woodman: $DHT #Tankers @Docoof - nice earnings reaction for this one. Crushed it on revenue. Hopefully bodes well for other #Tankers that have yet to report. I unfortunately sold this one in late October when it looked like it might pullback but failed to get back in. But I picked up $FRO and $NAT on their pullbacks to the 50d, and I'm also in $USEA. Dht (DHT) reported 3rd Quarter September 2022 earnings of $0.03 per share on revenue of $109.9 million. The consensus earnings estimate was $0.04 per share on revenue of $60.9 million. Revenue grew 86.0% on a year-over-year basis.

- phgruver: @CdrJake When I wrote a piece on $NAT last week, I researched day rates. While they had spiked, back in March/April, they have since come down, and are running around $14K/day. That's not that great. Because of that, institutional investors are skeptical that tanker stocks will be able to sustain their earnings. I watch $NAT, because I got stuck with a bunch (long story), but I think $TK is the big dog in that space. Long term, I wouldn't expect too much of any of them. It's just too competitive.

The volume of oil stored on ships continues to soar around the world; according to Clarksons Platou, the amount of crude and oil products stored at sea has jumped 50M barrels since last week, with an increasing volume going into smaller vessels. There are 237 crude and 117 product carriers currently occupied in storage, meaning the "current pace could therefore imply 650 million barrels over a quarter," Clarksons says. If its proprietary COVID-19 vaccine gets the FDA nod, it should be able to manufacture ~500M doses at its Texas site. Keep in mind there are many companies trying to produce something like this. Trade the chart. $NAT was one that I believe I mentioned yesterday. It's up another 8% today. This is risky because it's way outside the BBands, but the volume yesterday suggests another move is possible. $BWEN Up 75% Premarket on news that they have won an order worth $19M from a wind turbine customer. $SDC gaping up 31% This morning on news they have won a patent and plan to re-open. Lots of short interest, one to watch for sure.
