  • Docoof: #LNG $CQP Looks interesting b/c it’s trading not too far off its ATH and b/c of what it does. Ajax4Hire has posted many times about $CQP, but there hasn’t ben a post on it since February. The Company provides liquefied natural gas to integrated energy companies, utilities and energy trading companies. • Ajax4Hire: @bRobert $LNG $CQP a child of $LNG holds a special memory as I bought a metric ton ages ago when it was 1st released largely due to the dividend structure. Louisiana Coastal facility that creates LNG for shipping. Today Natural Gas(Liquified=LNG) is the cleanest dirty shirt in hydrocarbons. Understand that "You are Solar Powered." sugar, carbohydrates, propane, coal, carrots, wheat, crude oil, vegetable oil are all hydrocarbons(HC). All are created from Solar Power; yep, carrots & crude oil are equivalent energy storage. Heat with Oxygen(O2) to create H2O(water) and CO2. Wind and Hydro-Electric are Solar Power derivative. The entire World Energy structure is largely based on the Sun. (Nuclear and Ocean Wave only energy source NOT derived from Sun) You are Solar Powered.

  • jan2138: @borden_john $CQP I remember that. I sold it taking a profit a long time ago. Glad it has worked out so well for you. And, you are sill getting a great yield on your cost basis to go along with the substantial unrealized gain.
  • borden_john: @Jan2138 Just wanted to give a shout out to Jan for the work on the yield hogs. He made a recommendation for $CQP back in 09 still holding on from a cost basis of 9.19 Just wish I had bought more :)

  • issues: @spmeyers $CQP $NAT $COP $USO I like the chart of CQP, especially this time of year! $NAT is a spec play. Speaking of $PLAY, anyone jumping in on this for a bounce trade? I bought a small position with a stop at $44.45. This was an IBD 50 stock last week. (Not this week). It's got a little juice in it, don't ya thunk?
  • Ajax4Hire: $CQP - Cheniere Energy Partners $LNG - Cheniere Energy Inside? tip on Liquid Natural Gas(LNG). Four-4 weeks ago, mid September, I took a Eastern Caribbean cruise. I met and talked to someone who works for Wärtsilä; a large Marine Engine manufacture (large like for Cruise Ship large). He noted that many Ship builders and owners are switching lots of super large formerly Diesel engines to LNG. There is almost no engine cost to switching to from Diesel to LNG. Cost is in tank, on-board storage and safety(pressurized tank). Two-2 primary reasons, One-1, LNG is becoming cost competitive. Remember, Large ships burn the cheapest(dirtiest) oil. Two-2, using "clean" LNG is a public relations win. I am looking for good LNG exposure for long term(1-2 years) hold.

  • gmj: @DAN $LNG I continue to struggle with which to buy $LNG or $CQP. LNG is doing a little better over 6 mos but CQP is at a better buy point/chart imho. Do you have thoughts about one vs the other and why? I bought 100 sh in each this morning since I had some cash. Would address in forum or in SS tonight - thx?
  • Henry: @gmj $LNG $CQP They don't make it easy to understand their labyrinth of LLC's. They had a projection of their website of huge cash flows once they complete their nat gas trains. I don't understand what part of that might go to LNG shareholders vs CQP shareholders. The new pipeline (owned by another one of their LLC's) flows here:http://www.oilandgas360.com/cheniere-gets-commitments-from-devon-marathon-and-gulfport-for-its-stackscoop-to-gulf-coast-gas-pipeline/ SCOOP and STACK refer to areas in OK $TELL was founded by the founder of LNG but is at a very early stage. Last month they announced a secondary stock offering which the canceled the next day because of “Due to the current market environment and in the interest of achieving the best value for our stockholders"
  • gmj: @Henry $LNG $CQP $TELL Thx for the in put
  • DAN: @gmj $LNG $CQP CQP pays a good dividend. But both are ok.
  • gmj: Is someone able to give me a simple explanation of the difference between these two Chenerie Enery stocks $CQP, $LNG .... ? Thx ahead of time !
  • Henry: @gmj $CQP $LNG Nobody is jumping at the bit to do that because simple isn't in it. LNG owns 81% of CQH The sole purpose of CQH is to own 55.9% of CQP a limited partnership. CQP owns the receiving terminal and a pipeline. Those generate cash which allows CQP to pay a distribution. Supposedly all this was to simplify holding a limited partnership and separate the income producing parts of the business from the riskier construction parts.
  • gmj: @Henry $CQP $LNG Thx much, I have been successful trading both from time to time; $CQP recently out two days ago when it failed to make new high, one of my better trades. Think I'll keep doing what I have been doing and trade the charts, but I will make an effort to understand Liquid Natural Gas better and thereby Chenerie Enery. Thx again.
  • issues: Looking at a possible buy in either $TELL or $CQP. I like the Frenchman with the deep voice who started $TELL (he was on Cramer and he's been right about the price of oil for years.) He always makes sense (maybe dollars) to me.
  • Henry: @issues $TELL $CQP CQP pays a 6% dividend and the parent company LNG is exporting nat gas now. LNG has numerous wholely owned subsidiaries and I can't explain how they all interact. TELL is a business plan raising money. I posted about this the day after Souki was on Cramer. He is not a Frenchman. He was born in Egypt, raised in Lebanon and I'm sure he is a US citizen by now. For sure he is a good salesman. Nat gas liquificaton plants are called trains and they are incredibly expensive to build, as in billions. It is speculative play assuming that he can once again sign long term contracts before the trains are build and raise the billions required for construction. He did it before and shareholders were well rewarded in LNG
  • issues: @Henry $TELL $CQP Thank you Henry. I really appreciate your info. Souki, that's him. You are so right! I will hold off on any buys right now. Thank you! You sure have good info did you work in that industry? or as a financial analyst?

  • Poet: $DIS @ajctrade You and I may be two of the very few SMMers interested in long term holdings. There used to be a lot more but I think they have moved on. My approach is pretty simple if the 5-year chart shows a consistent movement from lower left to upper right and it's an established company, then it's OK. When it loses the trend, then it's out. No 3 strikes here. Some I'm involved with right now are $CMI, $CQP, $EMR, $EOG, $HAL, $HFC, $QCOM, $SNA, and $WAB. Others, like $BA, were OK, then became doubtful but may soon be OK again. Some are more volatile than others, and selection depends on the trader's temperament. Finally, some diversification is essential, but may be skewed by trends that sweep the market from time to time, such as the "oil boom" ongoing right now. Good luck!
  • DAN: $CQP -- might want to look at this on a weekly chart. You can see that the "squeeze" has been going on since October, and the stock is just now breaking out. Daily chart shows it overbought. But if you've got a timeframe that can be measured in haircuts rather than underwear changes (assuming you do change them regularly. You do change them, don't you?), then this could be something to buy,...even though overbought...and then let it work. If the stock pulls back, buy some more...and then wait until you get your hair cut a few times. One of our newer members brought this stock to my attention. Nice shootin', Tex! :-) Dan
  • bullmoose: $KMP @jan2138 - @Dana, what's your take on KMP? Today it made a higher low and a higher relative low. I just got stopped out of EVEp and am still looking for a consistent high yielder in the energy patch. $CQP is another possibility with, frankly, a better looking chart than KMP. But it has a lower yield. And, this $KMP low intrigues me. It's easy to put a stop under last week's low and have a low risk.
  • DragonFly: $CQP - bouncing right off the 50dma. nice div at 6% with possible upside on the stock price.
  • DragonFly: $LNG - Started a position yesterday as it looks like it is breaking out of a #squeeze on high volume. This is just a trade for me as I hold $CQP and LINE long term. Lost some steam during mid day but picked up again at the end of the day so I think it can continue. Great looking chart.
  • DragonFly: $CQP - looks like a good buy point. Green candle yesterday and sitting on the 8dma. 5.5% yield and growing co.
  • Tim S: $LNG - its $MLP, $CQP, is finally showing signs of firm support and setting up for a move higher. I've been long this one for a while and would love to add

  • Tim S: $ETP - I'm with you @Lou. One of my favorites. If you're looking for another one to enter ... $CQP has pulled back right to support. GOod opportunity to jump on board.
  • Tim S: #REITS - @kat, I don't mind at all. I have held #REITs and MLPs in my long-term accounts at different percentages; a couple of years ago I was almost exclusively in these. At this point, I still use them pretty heavily ... but not exclusively. I would say that between #REITs and MLPs they make up 75-80% of my long term portfolio, depending on the day and what the market has been doing. I am currently holding: $AGNC $AMTG $BKCC $BWP $CHKR $CIM $CQP CVRR $CYS $HTS $JMI $NLY $NRF $NYMT $PNNT $PSEC SDR $TCAP $TICC $VGR $VLCCF $WIN Other holdings in this account, that don't necessarily qualify as yield hogs, include: $ETP IEP $NAT $NWBI $WY (These are companies I want to own, and forget I own)

  • bybyjanice: XLU: Buying July 20th $38 Calls. I think this fixed income sell off is way over done. Interest rates will rise eventually, but not much #RHRN. The feds will continue buying bonds--they have no choice. Both of my MLPs, $CQP and $CLMT are bouncing off support. Another indication to me that they have corrected. #REITS, $MITT also climbing. $AGNC looks like it is forming a base, but after that poor quarter it is a wait and see stock to see what will happen to the #dividend. What do you guys think? Opinions welcome.
  • Tim S: $CQP - sold off hard this morning on light volume and NO news that I can find. Yielding 5.5% as of yesterday's close; I am not selling any.
  • Tim S: $CQP - added to my long-term position on today's ridiculous selloff ... I mean, wow. :-D
  • bybyjanice: CQP@Tim S.: I've been waiting for this to come back down to enter again. Missed the bottom but at least grabbed some shares at a decent price. Long $CQP also have $CLMT another $MLP that is down at the 40dma on the weekly.
  • Tim S: $CQP - look at the chart, folks. The selloff yesterday was bought, and the upper BB ride continues. 5.8% yield. This has been a slow, steady success for me.
  • bybyjanice: CQP@Tim S: #Cramer has suggested $CQP over $LNG for some time now. Everytime they have done a public offering, it has been a buy. Sadly, I missed yesterday and I don't think a secondary is in the cards for awhile. I like $CLMT too, but it is not performing like CQP.

  • mtnman: $UNG @Wolf Another one to look at is $CQP - this is a LP and also pays a nice #dividend. Again, not an expert I but have had similar thoughts about exporting natural gas as a potential longer term investment. Hopefully there are others in the forum that know more about this topic and will comment.

  • Tim S: $CQP - this yield hog is up 4% today - and since the intraday low on Thursday, up 6.4% from Thursday's close. Yield is 7.5%; I have it as a long term hold.
  • jan2138: $CQP @Tim S: I see the yield as 7.12 #rhrn. What's the yield at your average cost?
  • bybyjanice: CQP: Interesting article. They reported Friday with improvement year over year. Author places $CQP and $LNG at $40/share if construction goes as planned. He has a current buy point for $LNG at $17/share. I am long CQP. http://seekingalpha.com/article/1219651-cheniere-reports-earnings-and-progress-on-sabine-pass-facility?source=yahoo
  • Tim S: $CQP - down 3.5% this morning on a downgrade. Yields 7.4%; sitting below the 200 DMA at this moment. Not a #RHRN opportunity, but watch for signs of support. This could easily consolidate around the $20-$21 level for some time.
  • bybyjanice: LNG@Henry: I saw the interview. He said they did not need to raise anymore cash and that they will be finished with the project a year early. So does this mean we can anticipate that $CQP will not need to do any further offerings as well?
  • Henry: $CQP @bybyjanice Just the opposite, #Cramer and the Ceo implied that all the fund raising is going to fall onto CQP. I was stopped out of $CQP in Nov and never got back in. @Henry
  • Tim S: $CQP - I got back in yesterday when my price alert went off at $22
  • bybyjanice: CQP: I have been in for awhile. I was stopped out during one of those huge sell offs and then chased to get back in. I've been playing catch up in $CQP, but with plenty of cash, I might reconsider a position in LNG. It's pretty extended here.
  • Tim S: $CQP - hit my price alert at $22 this morning and I re-opened the position. It's up $0.55 since I purchased. This broke above the 200 DMA, and still yields 8.1%

  • Tim S: $CQP - by the way, the same post could be made for this stock.
  • bybyjanice: CQP@Tim S: I have a position in both $CQP and LNG. When @Blackstone invested in $LNG I thought that was a great move and the stock did act positively to the news of funding for construction. Do you think that the % change in ownership (from 6.4% to 4.6%) will weigh in on the stock? • southern: $GLNG @dfaz At least $GLNG doesn't need the US... they can ship from all over the world. I did however take a position in $CQP on the two upgrades this morning. Are you keeping your LNG?
  • southern: $GLNG @dfaz, I think you said the other day S. Grasso is long $GLNG too. I like him too. $CQP should be announcing their #dividend any day now their last #dividend went ex on july 30th $CQP Cheniere Energy upgraded to Outperform from Neutral at Credit Suisse Credit Suisse upgraded Chenier Energy based on valuation, solid cash flow, and project progress. Price target remains $25. Note that Barclays also upgraded shares today. Barclays upgraded Cheniere Energy due to valuation. Price target remains $25
  • Henry: $CQP Today is the green candle that @Dan says is a signal to buy after a downtrend. However volume is not impressive. It had a prolonged fall after they announced a secondary, maybe because it's 7.9% is no longer yield hogish, except that last year's div was return of capital. K-1 alert I can't quite pull the trigger, maybe I should wait on the developing #squeeze in $LNG and go with that. @Henry
  • bybyjanice: RFN, $MON, IP, & WY: These are the stocks that I am watching on this pullback. I did pick up a little $CQP which approached the 50dma on the weekly chart, but it looks like it was to go down more.
  • Tim S: $CQP - has been pulling back aggressively for the last week. Hit the 200 DMA today and that seems to be holding as support. A low-risk entry for a trade - or for a long-term position, if you like the yield (currently above 7%). Normally a very low-volume investment, though.
  • Momentous: $LNG - I own this one and was thinking of adding to it sometime soon. I noticed recently a stock $CQP trading that I had not noticed before. $CQP is Cheniere Energy Partners, L.P. and is subsidiary of Cheniere Energy, Inc. (LNG). It trades at a higher price $25ish compared to 16ish. Does anybody know why I would want one and not the other or both? Is it like a preferred offering? Can anyone shed light on my energy stock?
  • Henry: $CQP $10 a share ago, $CQP was one of our #yieldhogs. It is an mlp with a K-1 at tax time. $LNG pays no #dividend. @Henry own both
  • Momentous: $CQP - thanks. I think if I add it might be to the $CQP and make it a longer term hold. I think the company in general will do well as they sign more deals and get past these offerings. It seems like the story will only get better for them and #Cramer loves this one and will continue to pump it from time to time.
  • dhunt64817: $CQP ownes $LNG and $CQP pays a #dividend. If $LNG goes up/down so does $CQP but generally a day or two later
  • Henry: $CQP Not adding. We've been waiting quite a while for this secondary. $LNG shares the same Ceo. He was on #Cramer and said, relative to $LNG we will not be having any secondaries. He could have mentioned CQP. I will hold what I have. It's yield is only 6.5% now @Henry
