- woodman: $TOL Toll Brothers (TOL) reported earnings of $3.73 per share on revenue of $2.69 billion for the fiscal third quarter ended July 2023. The consensus earnings estimate was $2.86 per share on revenue of $2.41 billion. The Earnings Whisper number was $3.05 per share. The company beat expectations by 22.30% while revenue grew 7.73% on a year-over-year basis. The company said it expects fourth quarter revenue of $2.66 billion to $2.82 billion. The current consensus revenue estimate is $2.58 billion for the quarter ending October 31, 2023.

So there are a few things to watch into the end of the week, though I’m not in a big rush to put money to work without a ... - wineinquirer: $LEN $TOL MHO MTH BZH $PHM Been watching these for some time with np as of yet. They all have similar long term cups and handles (give or take) but using measured move from base to breakout to estimate tgt uncovers that many have already made significant progress toward tgts. The two that still look attractive for gains seem to be $LE N & $TOL. Both are not too far above the breakout and thus have more potential for gains. May take an entry (or two) small today as home building sector still strong (from a technical pattern standpoint) as inventory still is tight. In my area (Marana, Az), home builders (some public, some private) have been building non-stop since prior to COVID. Lots for 150-250 new homes seem to sprout like new grass all around us.

Homebuilders generally are consolidating or have pulled back to some support areas (for some, 50d has been support; for others, 20d area has been support ) still within their broader uptrends. Perhaps it's worth going through the tickers to find one in a decent spot. Virtually all are in uptrends still. See, e.g., $DFH $TMHC $LGIH $TOL $MDC $KBH $MHO $GRBK $TPH. Others of interest as well.

Added $MHO this am and looking for another. &LEN earnings next wk along with Fed rate announcement/conference. Beginning homes in Cali start at over 1mm and even with all the folks moving out, compared to others, the city rates are so high RENTERS REALIZE HOW FLEECED THEY ARE GETTING so $TOL has been buying suburban office buildings, tearing them down and either building multi family or huge single family homes. $TOL-SHORT FORM:-"Never seek to ask for whom the bell tolls---it tolls for thee!"

- debeers: $TOL-like $LEN which reports a month later than $TOL, the homebuilders are able to increase their prices and buy down the mortgage rates. My plan is to hold $TOL thru the May call with one more rate increase. A high end buyer maybe moving from Cali or New York will get savings on both ends if choosing to buy in a low or no tax state.
