- woodman: $HOV - I continue to hold this one as it consolidates, with the 50d creeping up to price, and it gets closer to some longer term rising support. Homebuilders generally are consolidating or have pulled back to some support areas (for some, 50d has been support; for others, 20d area has been support ) still within their broader uptrends. Perhaps it's worth going through the tickers to find one in a decent spot. Virtually all are in uptrends still. See, e.g., $DFH $TMHC $LGIH $TOL $MDC $KBH $MHO $GRBK $TPH. Others of interest as well.

- maracom: @DougL $DHI $PHM $KBH I heard a good explanation for why homebuilders have done so well on a podcast (maybe everyone else already know this but it was new to me): Since so many homeowners are locked in below 3.5%, new listings in the existing home market have tanked, pushing tons of buyers who can't find any inventory into the new home market. This supports not only home prices, but construction wages, buying land, buying materials, and contributes to sticky inflation. Yet another example of how our brilliant central bank planners distort the market.

I know here in Ohio since Intel announced the building of a new facility outside Johnstown/New Albany area, home and land prices have esculated. Homes are being built like crazy. A 75 acre farm near Johnstown just sold for 18 million plus. That farmer had his best year yet. Turning it into a housing division. Property values are going through the roof.
