- Forexpro: Re: Portofolio Hi, Friends, After some enforced pruning, I remain long $DRI (as of this morning), GDX (largest holding), $MRK, $PFF, and $T. I'm looking to buy additional $GDX on a modest pullback, and I have a wing and a prayer order to buy some $MAC. I'm currently at 68 percent cash, and I've transferred additional funds that will take me to 71 percent. I've traded like utter crud, but thanks to small positions and much cash, the damage done has been modest. I was down roughly 1.5 percent across my portfolios on Friday, down roughly a quarter of one percent today. I'd rather be up, but since I don't have time to trade the E-minis, that's difficult for me, at present. Here's hoping that your day is going well; all the best!
- Joe1927: $MAC $RPAI $STOR $ROIC Mon. night on Mad Money Cramer had a segment on the death of the mall. He said mall traffic was down 17 percent in the last year and used Gap as an example of dying brick-and-mortar retail. How is that possible when these REIT’s, all of which specialize in retail prop. are at or near 10 year (MAC) or all-time highs?
- muranaka1: @Joe1927 $MAC $RPAI $STOR $ROIC Dan covered $stor and I rtecall him saying this REIT is " standalone " properties..

BTW: I've got OCO bid on $NRF <$17.99; $SPG & $MAC. I liked what I'd seen. $NRF $SPG/$MAC ($SPG with an ongoing bid for $MAC) less div for $SPG/$MAC; more growth potential. - janner0814: @Lou Thanks for the REIT idea ($NRF $SPG $MAC). You were the one that confirmed my alerts that the REITs are the place to be. I do believe however, for a new owner (such as me) there will be better prices for these gems. The longer term holders, I'm sure, will either add to their positions or have covered calls against their existing positions. My goal lately is: 1 to improve my trade location & most importantly 2) get out of the southbound losers decisively/quickly. I'm much more familiar trading the $IWM, $TNA and $VXX.

- Lou: SCHWAB - $MAC - recently I purchased a top of the line Mac with a 27" monitor, solid state hard drive and lots of memory and had plans to add a second monitor. I set up the Windows mode and installed Fidelity's Active Trader Pro and Schwab's Street Smart Pro, both of which I use extensively. That experiment lasted all of five trading days - the Mac went back went back into the packing box and back to the Apple store. I'm back to using my four year old Dell, with lots of memory, two 22" monitors, large hard drive and back up drive and everything is back to working like a charm. Message to self - if it ain't broke, don't fix it. Good luck. @Lou
- Bermont: SCHWAB @boba - Thank you for your response, I have 4 $GB memory which is not very high but I think the problem is due to the fact that StreetSmart Edge was made to work with PCs like Dell for instance. When you want to use it with a Mac you have to download and Interface provided by Schwab and this is where problems are compounded. I would appreciate if some $MAC users could also give me some feed back.
- Nails: I am using Schwab StreetSmartEdge (in the cloud) on a $MAC, via the downloaded Citrix viewer. There have been a few bugs, but the speed seems satisfactory to me. I have only minor complaints about the interface.
- dfaz: TQ@ogas- run windows 7 on it and get the best of both worlds. I am with fidelity/Schwab/Lynch and they all have windows trade platforms, while I was at $MSFT internally we liked $MAC hw to run our OS on. Mac mini, love it, can take it with me and with my Brookestone $HD 1080p $300 projector that goes to 55 inches, I have a portable wide screen with some serious Horsepower
- mradams0621: CLDX- Does the chart say the short term downtrend is over? No. How about a big capitutation down day with a reversal interday? Long tail? No. 20 day support? ya good stuff but neutralized by the huge distance above the 200 day. Has the 20 day been support in the past? NO longer term, but yes shorter term. Volume red bars declining? Nope, bigger today. $MAC D and RSI looking good? Nope. Can't do it. Not enough ducks lining up.

If you're expecting anything as useful as the desktop version then you will be dissapointed. It's my biggest complaint with TC2000. Version 12 works fine, don't know why you'd want to use anything other than the latest version now that they have the alerts issue sorted out so you don't have to pay for a simple price alert. Course i'm using a windows based PC, assuming its functioning fine on the $MAC as well. IMHO the platinum isn't really worth the extra $ unless you are consistently day trading and have a very short time frame. For any type of swing trading or trading using 15min+ time frames the gold version is fine.

- debeers: AAPL-This is killing me but--I apologize. I am afraid at least for the next 6 months you may be right on the business spend at lest if we view our govt as a business. Navy just cut $IT spend and with all the criticism it wil probably have to cut more severely. On the other hand, when times are tough, good companies try to get a leg up on their competition. I never said business would replace retail but I do know that any company that sells can keep better track of inventory etc with the $MAC system than any other brand and even if co's are generally reluctant to fork over their dough now, losing to a competitor terrifies them more. And in business, nothing happens till something gets sold. Please accept the peace pipe in the sprit of the forum.'Kay?

- imortalz: @KAW01021, I have Mac too. 15" Pro, As slow states you can have crab and lobster with a MAC. But, you will have to add windows. $MAC do NOT come with it. BOOTCAMP, $VMW Fusion (I have) or Parralles is needed. I don't use Worden currently I have in the past and it is a Window's based program. So If you want Worden you will need to add Windows. Why don't I use WORDEN? Personally, strictly personally I have found that the programs that are given to you by Schwab, ETrade etc. are getting so good that the extra expense (even though it reasonable) is not needed.
