  • joelsg1: $SNPS Still have a cushion even after 35% drop. Revs. still rising despite mgmt. mistakes, China export controls uncertainty and $INTC troubles. Seems to be sold out above 4/7 low as hedge funds seek greener pastures pushing RSI to ridiculous level. Small add at $385.
  • camaro69: $INTC HOD any one have thoughts on this with the US owning 10%
  • Wolf: @phgruver $DELL $HPQ $INTC $AMD #Windows MS is charging $30 for continued Win 10 support. If I didn't need Turbotax, I wouldn't upgrade and just pay the $30. I have a Gen 2 processor, so I guess it's time anyway.
  • phgruver: @Wolf $DELL $HPQ $INTC $AMD #Windows Fair enough. FWIW, I figured out that I didn't need TurboTax. It's just a spread sheet.
  • bigbartabs: @Wolf $DELL $HPQ $INTC $AMD #Windows ... yes, I started the Win 10 to Win 11 move in April. 2 new laptops... and still trying to get everything back to normal. Not an easy task... at least not for me.
  • champ: New-position, $INTC, at $24.86, this morning, around LOD, #with-size, Investment swing position, long term, into the End of the Year. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
  • WhitePath: @Wolf $DELL $HPQ $INTC $AMD #Windows If you have an official windows 10 installed, you can upgrade to win11. https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows11 There are a lot of online help to do this or you can just ask chatGPT. :)
  • Wolf: #Windows 10 End of support 10/15/25 Windows 11 requires an 8th generation or later processor. Turbotax just announced that their 2025 and later will require Windows 11 due to security risks. How many people/businesses will upgrade so they can continue being supported. Many will have to buy a new PC. I for one will. $DELL $HPQ $INTC $AMD could benefit. Thoughts?
  • phgruver: @Wolf $DELL $HPQ $INTC $AMD #Windows MS is offering extended Windows 10 support for a fee. Many businesses will choose to go that route. Also, many will find it more economic to subscribe to Windows11 as a cloud service. They will be able to use the MS Edge browser, running on a Win-10 computer, to access a secure Win-11 server. I don't really see a major upgrade cycle, especially as the current crop of Intel and AMD CPU's only offer incremental advancements over the previous generation. Larger, faster hard drives (think SSD) and more memory will give you more bang for your buck, over a more advanced multi-core CPU that's going to sit idle 90+% of the time. (Personally, I switched to LINUX several years ago....)
  • phgruver: Should have bought more $INTC when it pulled back, after earnings. (I'm underwater, so it didn't really make sense ... at the time).
  • traderbren: $INTC - popped!
  • Henry: @traderbren $INTC Bloomberg reports US is going to buy a stake in the company. I don't believe it.
  • Henry: $INTC "Won't comment on rumors" No word from the WH
  • traderbren: @Henry $INTC - agreed, could be sus!
  • traderbren: $INTC - looks like a gap fill trade may be in the works.
  • StockMarketMentor: ...
Intel ($INTC) is up about 2.3% this morning on news that the CEO is going to be meeting with President Trump today. Lip-Bu Tan (No, I don't have fat fingers on the keyboard -- that's really his name) was singled out by POTUS recently for having con ...
  • kenb: $INTC getting spanked this morning. Down 3% PM. Posted this morning on Truth Social - The CEO of INTEL is highly CONFLICTED and must resign, immediately. There is no other solution to this problem. Thank you for your attention to this problem!
  • phgruver: @jwgiblin3 $AMD Congratulations! Definitely a high quality problem. As @Dan often suggests, maybe take some off and hold the rest..... $AMD has had a nice run, since the April low, and is now well extended above the moving averages. Historically, it has not been an out performer, playing second fiddle to $INTC and now $NVDA. It may continue to out perform, or it may not.... I would, at least, bank some of the money.
  • jwgiblin3: @phgruver @reneeh $AMD $INTC $NVDA Yes. I think I will take profits with 0 regrets. I It is not a winner until you sell I asked since I tend to sell winners too early and also wasnt sure if there was a good option stradegy. Thanks for the advice.
  • phgruver: $INTC is getting hammered (-9%) on a weak earnings report. This is also weighing heavily on $SMH. Obviously, $INTC is not the tech leader it used to be....
  • RD: $INTC $INTC down 9% today after earnings. NVDA, AMD, AVGO hit 52 wk highs this am.
  • traderbren: @RD $INTC - yep, $INTC has been a POS for a long time. I wouldn't touch it unless you are looking for a day or swing trade, but there are so many better opportunities out there.
  • bigbartabs: @traderbren @RD $INTC ... pretty shocking history. When I was deep in the data processing business, Intel was considered a king in the semiconductor business... always appearing to be way ahead. My son became a programmer at Intel soon out of high school... but ended up moving on due to not an exciting place to work. He was glad he did, since he got much bigger challenges at a couple other firms. News about Intel successes these days seems very sparse.
  • billyzeke: @bigbartabs $INTC They are still king of desktop PC processors but that's about it.
  • Wolf: $INTC EPS flat, Rev up. Up a buck PM
  • Mikev200: $INTC looking strong today, NP
  • vitoB: Of course I sold out of all my $SOXS at the close .... any way it's gonna be a fun Friday before the weekend. Buy the scary news and hope it's better over weekend. Or more people want to get out to wait for 5700 ...we'll see. 59ers . $DECK $ROST $BURL lookin to trade / build positions in $ANF and $DOCU $NKE. $INTC Fade $LULU $SFM $BSX
  • woodman: @vitoB $SOXS $DECK $ROST $BURL $ANF $DOCU $NKE $INTC $LULU $SFM $BSX - Buy Dramamine.
  • vitoB: @vitoB $SOXS $DECK $ROST $BURL $ANF $DOCU $NKE $INTC $LULU $SFM $BSX ... focus on $DECK pulled guidance but upped buy back to 2.25 billion. That's 12% of the market cap. Could be a better trade on Tuesday def wait 5-15 min
  • vitoB: @woodman $SOXS $DECK $ROST $BURL $ANF $DOCU $NKE $INTC $LULU $SFM $BSX .... is that you're way of saying I'm doing too much today?
  • woodman: @vitoB $SOXS $DECK $ROST $BURL $ANF $DOCU $NKE $INTC $LULU $SFM $BSX - Just saying this Market continues to be held captive by what Trump says/threatens and his daily announcing of "policy" with his two thumbs. Market goes up, then rug-pull ... rinse and repeat. We can be the greatest chart readers in history, but it's impossible to stay ahead of the chaos.
  • bigreek42: @woodman $SOXS $DECK $ROST $BURL $ANF $DOCU $NKE $INTC $LULU $SFM $BSX you really need to take profits quickly in this market
  • vitoB: @woodman $SOXS $DECK $ROST $BURL $ANF $DOCU $NKE $INTC $LULU $SFM $BSX I've been getting in and out of positions much quicker. Dtadeing has been great. Def not a market to press longs imo
  • woodman: @bigreek42 @vitoB - $SOXS $DECK $ROST $BURL $ANF $DOCU $NKE $INTC $LULU $SFM $BSX - good points both of you.

  • Wolf: $INTC Cutting 20% of workforce. Up 5% PM. Earnings tomorrow AMC.
  • vitoB: Was going through the semis on the thought that if this is an or the bottom semis were first in and could be first out. Almost all have hit 52 week lows past 3 days but $ON and $TER actually closed above fridays open. So I’m starting some in these and have $AVGO $NVDA and crazy to say $INTC looks bottoming and the expectations here could not be lower imo

  • joelsg1: $NVDA I think this is a Day 3 Rule response, but Friday was Day 1 (DeepSeek has been out since 1/10) so maybe rebound tomorrow Day 3? Also, more people realizing they used some analysis "tricks", like only training to the 5% most 'popular' cases, hence using much less compute and power. Don't hear any big buyers say they won't continue to buy the latest and greatest. Actually don't hear anything as many are in quiet period pre-E, esp. Wed. $TSLA, $META and $MSFT, and Thursday $AAPL and $INTC. Again, chill. Looking to buy Day 3.
  • TraderGeekSam: "$NVDA CEO Jensen Huang's stake in $NVDA of $128B is bigger than $INTC and $BA and would allow him to buy every professional basketball team in the U.S. and still have enough to buy the largest gaming company, $CZR." -NYU Professor Scott Galloway
  • Cjauger: @TraderGeekSam $NVDA $INTC $BA $CZR He is an amazing individual.
  • wijimmy: @TraderGeekSam $NVDA $INTC $BA $CZR … .. Do we know how much of it is his OWN CASH ??? Meaning did he buy shares with his own money ?
  • Henry: $INTC Another CEO bites the dust, stock up in pm
  • traderbren: @Henry $INTC - yep, I figured it was just a matter of time before he was shown the door and the stock would pop, but let's see if it can stick.
  • phgruver: @RichardinME $AMD Let me ask you a simple question: Which are you more likely to buy, a new smart phone or a new desktop computer? $AMD, and it's nearest competitor $INTC make the bulk of of their money selling CPU's for desktop systems. While they both also have graphics processors, and other chip sets, they are both struggling to remain relevant in the rapidly changing digital environment. While I'm not ready to write either one of them off, neither is hitting it out of the park either. As a long term investment? Maybe.... ...But, RHRN, there are better places to put your money.
  • kenb: @RichardinME $AMD yes, from initial entry in 2018 with a large cushion. Using that position trade around the core holding - trim off the top when price is high, and purchase back when prices are low. I do not day or swing trade on this. I do have a lot of conviction in the company and the CEO Lisa Su. In the past, she took on $INTC and is winning, and now she is competing with $NVDA. Smart lady and well respected by Wall Street.
  • RichardinME: @kenb $AMD $INTC $NVDA It's going unloved and not talked about now. Just bought a small position as I think sometime next year it will be on the ATL and will be loved again when its well over 200.
  • MongosPawn: $INTC I like the look of the recent pullback bounce in the daily chart (aka phase 3). Added a little.
  • ruskinq2: @MongosPawn $INTC i'm in too from yesterday, maybe there's a benefit from new admin...
  • camaro69: $INTC trying to go after earnings
  • scottrades: @camaro69 $INTC Watch for a move to the 28.90 area
  • traderbren: @champ $NVDA - looks like someone new that $NVDA would be added to the DJI, replacing $INTC ;-)
  • kenb: @traderbren $NVDA $INTC wow, that is huge. Just announced on CNBC. And Sherwin-Williams replacing $DOW.
  • bill52: $INTC Intel does "less bad" on its earnings release and is up 14% AH.
  • kenb: @billyzeke $SMCI $NVDA $ASML $AMD for me as a long-term position investor for capital appreciation, it's been great. Started a large position in 2018 when it was fighting $INTC for market share, I still have a large position with a cost basis of $10. Over the years, I've been trading around the core position, selling a little when it was trading in a high range, and buying back a little at lower levels on pull-backs such as these. And wall street likes Lisa Su. I'm usually not very good at swing trading.
  • billyzeke: @kenb $SMCI $NVDA $ASML $AMD $INTC Nice!
  • kenb: @RichardinME $AMD no, it didn't have any impact in the AH action. They painted a good roadmap on what they are doing to compete with $NVDA, but they are still number 2 by a wide margin. Pretty much what she did with $INTC in the CPU arena, and is winning that battle gaining market share from them. It's a long-term hold for me, so I'm not worried about daily action. And there were reports that $NVDA's Blackwell GPU is sold out for the next year. Will potential customers be able to wait that long, and $AMD's offerings are cheaper. So, they will sell, it depends on how much they can sell. One take-away from her CNBC interview tonight, is that they didn't announce any new customers at the event, so that is one negative that the analysts picked up on.
  • billyzeke: $INTC breaking above the 50 day
  • phgruver: $INTC is bumping up over $24. I don't know how much upside there is, in this one, but it's been dragging bottom ever since it reported disappointing earnings back on Aug 1. (It didn't help that the Japanese carry trade collapse hit a couple of days later.) I'm long, in a LT account, and have some $22 options ....
  • ruskinq2: @phgruver $INTC thinking $30, rest, then $35
  • woodman: @phgruver $INTC - It's hitting the overhead 50d now, but it's now in the gap, which could be a big fill, potentially. See 8/1-8/2 gap. Gap fill is about $29
  • phgruver: Good morning, y'all. Running through my watch list, I'm not seeing anything to get excited about. I had really expected $INTC to be more in play, but, so far, pre-market, it's trading right around where it closed on Friday.
  • jnors12: $INTC Looks like Intel has been halted $QCOM Qualcom approached Intel for a possible takeover
  • scottrades: $INTC unhalted and moving.
  • bwcarnation1: @scottrades $INTC news about a deal with $QCOM (potential deal)
  • DavidK: @bwcarnation1 $INTC $QCOM somebody has to put them out of their misery it would appear . I am gambling with some calls . Haven’t heard a price ? My bet min 35
  • bwcarnation1: @DavidK $INTC $QCOM reading they are interested in portions of $INTC design business
  • DavidK: @bwcarnation1 $INTC $QCOM where are the chart masters . Maybe Carter Worth will be on Fast Money tonight. Big gap to fill between here and 30 .
  • woodman: @DavidK $INTC $QCOM - INTC gap starts at $21.98. Gap-fill would $28.89. See 8/1-8/2.
  • scottrades: @DavidK $INTC $QCOM Pretty logical area for the stock to fill.
  • DavidK: @scottrades $INTC $QCOM that’s the way I am playing it with Oct 23 calls for a trade . Most likely get pinned at 22 today by the manipulators
  • phgruver: @DavidK $INTC $QCOM Yup, a battle to close it below $22, to kill the options.
  • phgruver: @phgruver $INTC $QCOM Open interest at $22 is 49,167. If they can push it down below $22, that will save them a lot of money!
  • DavidK: @phgruver $INTC $QCOM like buddy of mine from the business use to tell me , if these crooks can beat you out of drink money they will try and do it .
  • bodyboy: Anyone have an opinion on $INTC breaking out of consolidation? Possibly fill gap to $28.80
  • phgruver: @bodyboy $INTC That would be a heck of a move, plus 36%! I do expect $INTC to move up, but it will be more gradual. This is a mega-cap stock with a well established market position (about 90% of desktop computers.) From here, I think $25 would be a more reasonable target, by year end.
  • bodyboy: @phgruver $INTC Thank you.l
  • phgruver: @champ $AMD $QQQ $NVDA #U-turn $NVDA is only 8% of $QQQ, whereas it is over 21% of $SMH. As for "competition", $AMD and $INTC are the only credible competitors, both having respectable 3-D Graphics Processors of their own. AI, of course, is a different animal, but it is being built on 3-D Graphics Processors. What $NVDA is trying to do is create a special processor that is optimized for AI. You think that $INTC and $AMD aren't working on it as well? The "moat" on this isn't as wide as some people think. $NVDA has a head start, but there are some really sharp chip designers who don't work for $NVDA....
  • champ: @phgruver $AMD $QQQ $NVDA $SMH $INTC #U-turn...I was just talking in general terms, for a sector turn or could watch for a turn in the $COMPX, for stocks in the tech sector....for tech stock Entries, could watch both or all three, whatever works for you..........
  • champ: $INTC is Now at $21.60, Day-5 and the low was around $19....so that was and Easy-money-Trade..up around 14%...however I keep moving my visual Stop-up. All kinds of trades, in the Traders Tool-Box...and this Dog-trade, was off of positive-News...and for Now, is still positive, however I will be seeing if it continues. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
  • vitoB: @mhuie $WOLF I think so , they are inthe same boat as $INTC as they are bringing up fabs in the US. but the earnings next week pretty muchmake this a binary ticker. are we at low point for cash burn and earnings it will turn, if they push out cash flow it might go to ten. im long so I think its been overdone as the shorts should cover some into the print. $AMAT numbers give me some concern and some reports theres a shortage in some car parts is a concern.
  • DavidG: @DrScience $PFE $INTC I think the lack of influenza B titers in the phase 2 trial is a minor issue because influenza B is relatively rare in the US compared to Influenza A. I believe today's drop in the $PFE stock is an over- reaction to the repo ...
  • champ: $INTC fell back to $19.50 and #Barron's just came out with an upgrade, with a positive Buy signal ... because it is so low, it is so cheap, that it is currently at #low-Book-value, per Barron's. ~~~~~They are saying, a buy on the Cheap........ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
  • champ: $INTC....buy-Low and sell-Higher, I believe that I heard that many times before, so it must be true.
  • billyzeke: @champ $INTC #Barron #low-Book-value I love Intel's processors, they are the best on the market. But the stock...I dunno, it might get even cheaper.
