  • ReneeH: $VST double bottom, perhaps, love this gravestone doji
  • ReneeH: $VST been a power laggard but looks like maybe now? @woodman is this one of yours?
  • ReneeH: $VST getting ready here, small position, considering add...
  • traderbren: @ReneeH $VST - yup, was thinking that too...just wish $VST could get out of 1st gear and get some traction like $CEG.
  • ReneeH: @traderbren $VST $CEG yea it's been lagging i agree. I added more $GEV fwiw.
  • woodman: @scottrades $GEV - within the same group (Independent Power Producers), $VST and $NRG are similarly basing/consolidating. $CEG has moved out of its base. And $FLNC has flown the coop. It's the best performer of the group since the April low.
  • woodman: $FLNC (np) is one on my Independent Power Producers watchlist. It has been strong and is having a day. It fact, it's the strongest performer since the April low by far of this group: $CEG $GEV $NRG $VST round out the group in terms of those I watch/trade.
  • Boogie: @woodman $FLNC $CEG $GEV $NRG $VST Seems like $FLNC would would belong in energy storage/battery category not power producers.
  • ReneeH: @ReneeH $GEV + $SMR + $NRG, $VST i'm liking this theme.
  • woodman: @Boogie $FLNC $CEG $GEV $NRG $VST - Perhaps that makes more sense, but TC2000 categorizes it "Utilities - Independent Power Producers."

From Yahoo Finance - Fluence Energy, Inc., through its subsidiaries, provides energy storage and optim ...
  • ReneeH: fwiw my power favs $GEV, $VST + uranium plays $CCJ, $SMR and zeee rare earth $MP
  • ReneeH: $VST finally...been testing my patience hugging this 50d
  • traderbren: $CRWV $VST - both looking constructive here.
  • cgendro1: @traderbren $CRWV $VST - your timing was great as I was just viewing $VST stock and thought the same :)
  • Geewhiz: @traderbren $CRWV $VST STO $CRWV 10/10 140 put at $1.58
  • ReneeH: @woodman $MOB you still interested in $VST? watching this 50d hugger....strong fundies in our power group
  • woodman: @ReneeH $MOB $VST - I remain a watcher of the 4 independent power producers that I regularly mention: $VST $CEG $GEV $NRG. Plus one more: $FLNC. CEG and FLNC look pretty good. But my $$ are tied up elsewhere right now.
  • traderbren: $CEG $VST - both seeing some interest this morning.
  • woodman: @ReneeH $GSAT $SMR - At the moment, I have $LEU $BE and $UUUU. I got out of $BLDP, but don't want to lose sight. Also watching the small nukes - $SMR $NNE $OKLO - and the large producers - $NRG $VST $GEV $CEG
  • ReneeH: @woodman $GSAT $SMR $LEU $BE $UUUU $BLDP $NNE $OKLO $NRG $VST $GEV $CEG Thank you! Have $GEV, $SMR, $VST. Appreciate your validation.
  • ReneeH: $VST rhrn
  • ReneeH: @Henry $VRT cool, i'm benefitting from all of em today, trimming away here $GEV, $VST, $SMR, happy camper
  • ReneeH: @ReneeH $VRT $GEV $VST $SMR + $CEG calls gotta say thank you on these kinda days
  • woodman: $NRG $CEG $VST $GEV - The large power producers are moving back up.
  • woodman: $GEV - I made a fortitous additional buy-back of this yesterday. Look also at the others in this group which I stay active in: $NRG $VST $CEG
  • ReneeH: power names were just resting, perking up imo; $GEV, $VST, $URA and the usuals
  • woodman: Seeing some movement in the independent power producers: $VST $NRG $GEV $CEG.
  • woodman: $CEG moving back up through the 50d. Long. Also long $VST and $GEV. No position in $NRG but on the radar.
  • traderbren: @woodman $CEG $VST $GEV $NRG - yep, I started a position in $VST yesterday and have been keeping my eye on $CEG as I've been in that in the past.
  • ReneeH: @woodman $BE my $GEV and $VST solid. Good basket to tighten and hold for LT. Giddy up ma ponies!
  • ReneeH: @woodman $CEG $VST $GEV $NRG added $NNE for some nuke.
  • woodman: $CEG $VST - I like the consolidation following their pullbacks.
  • ReneeH: @woodman $CEG $VST we have similar tastes in our favs. Good validation! Thank you.
  • woodman: @ReneeH $CEG $VST - No wonder I like your style! :-)
  • ReneeH: @woodman if you're inclined to share, we're both hot for the AI energy plays, curious how you'd rank these for LT holdings?: $GEV, $VST, $BE, $MP, $LEU, $OKLO + the Nukes like $CCJ, $NNE + other key leaders?. I'm contemplating how I want to allocate. Thanks mucho.
  • woodman: @ReneeH $GEV $VST $BE $MP $LEU $OKLO $CCJ $NNE - Hi, Renee. I've been trading the charts and keeping myself informed generally about what they do and why they are imporant. But I have not done the work to be able rank them as long term holdings. I know many feel that OKLO is one to keep long term, but I wouldn't feel good about making any predictions. OKLO is more of a hair-on-fire stock now, it seems. Perhaps over many years it will be a sensational gainer. If GEV VST $CEG $NRG are more like steady eddies, without the hair on fire aspects, they may make for good long term stocks as well. Ones you can hold and not lose as much sleep as the OKLO's of the world. Sorry I'm not of more use here.
  • woodman: @ReneeH $MP $IDR $UUUU $OKLO $PPTA $LEU $GEV - GEV, of course, and I continue to keep an eye on $CEG $VST $NRG - the major independent power producers, ones I've been mentioning for many months. These may be lose to reversals back up. GEV seems to be there now. And VST very close.
  • traderbren: @Henry $OKLO - yep, and keep an eye on $VST $CEG that are primed to move higher
  • Vcondry: @billyzeke $OKLO $BE looks really good here too with the nice lift and volume ... $VST and $GEV both look healthy but neither have the volume pop of $OKLO and $BE
  • billyzeke: @Vcondry $OKLO $BE $VST $GEV Thanks for the heads up on $BE, i've got it on my watch list now.
  • Vcondry: @billyzeke $OKLO $BE $VST $GEV $BE great earnings numbers (725% surprise) plus out of the way, finally broke overhead resistance at 40 if we close there, market cap still under 10bil but not for long, passes all the normal IBD checklists... looks promising for a long run
  • woodman: @Vcondry $NNE - I distinguish between the small modular reactor stocks and the big independent power producers ($GEV $VST $CEG $NRG). NNE is one of the small. So, $OKLO, yes is rebounding, but $SMR, not so much, at least not yet.
  • Vcondry: @Henry $OKLO seems like everyone not named $GEV isn't shooting out the lights...power theme appears to be consolidating. $VST $GEV $BE all on the watchlist.
  • Henry: @Vcondry $OKLO $GEV $VST $BE all the straight nuke stocks are on the come.
  • ReneeH: @Henry $OKLO $GEV $VST $BE +$CCJ imo
  • woodman: @ReneeH $OKLO $GEV $VST $BE $CCJ - In addition, I'd keep $LEU and $CEG on the watchlist.
  • woodman: $VST - I bought back this morning shares I sold into earnings. This has turned into a nice bounce back.
  • woodman: $NRG bmo tomorrow. Holding 2/3 through. It may be a good indication of what is to come for $CEG and $VST (both 8/7 bmo). I'm hoping $GEV back on 7/23 is a good indicator for all of them.
  • woodman: The big power producers are moving higher. They've been wonderful. Of the 4 that I've been very involved with since April/May, 3 are reporting this week: $NRG $CEG $VST. The fourth - $GEV - already reported, and it was a good one. Perhpas the others will follow suit. It's been a hot industry area that appears to be staying hot.
  • woodman: @ReneeH $OKLO $NRG - Yes. OKLO (along with $SMR $NNE) is the small reactor side; NRG (along with $CEG $VST $GEV) is large power producer side.
  • jeffslm: @woodman $OKLO $NRG $SMR $NNE $CEG $VST $GEV - some interesting charts in here. thank you!
  • woodman: $CEG - recall how $GEV - another of the big Independent Power Producers I've been and still am in - reacted to its earning report last week (and continued up thereafter). Perhaps we'll see similar action with CEG (no guarantees of course). The two others I've liked in the space: $VST (reports 8/7 bmo; long) $NRG (reports 8/6 bmo; np currently, but I may buy for earnings)
  • woodman: Independent Power Producers: $GEV still moving higher post-earnings. $CEG in a squeeze, earnings estimated for 8/5 amc (I don't know why it isn't a confirmed date yet). $VST similar, earings 8/7 bmo. $NRG similar, earnings 8/6 amc.
  • woodman: $GEV is poised to open at an ath. Whether it sticks for the day remains to be seen. I held all my shares through earnings. This has been a hugely winning chart since the April low as the need for power generation has been the story all this time. I direct you also to the other large Independent Power Producers I've mentioned for some time now: $CEG $NRG $VST. They have been consolidating after similarly huge moves off the bottom. Each reports in early August.
  • debeers: @woodman $GEV $CEG $NRG $VST - Brava on the $GEV. Brilliant as always Woodie!
  • woodman: $VST dumpage.
  • ReneeH: any interest in $VST? needs to recover y'day but looks like good potential, like the energy space
  • woodman: @ReneeH $VST - Cup/V completion. Now testing the January high area and holding the 20dSMA/21dEMA support area. I'm continuing to hold a position.
  • ReneeH: @woodman $VST thank you. I'm a fan, decisions decisions...
  • ReneeH: @Hawaiianmaxx $OKLO similar family $SMR, $LEU, $VST all looking solid
  • woodman: @Mikev200 $GEV - $GEV and $VST have been sweet! $CEG not too shabby either. Keep watch of $NRG in this group as well. It's consolidating into the rising 50d. These are my Four Horsemen of the large power producers.
  • Mikev200: @woodman $GEV $VST $CEG $NRG I have your list! I can only afford one horse :)
  • ReneeH: @woodman $GEV $VST $CEG $NRG love em, totally aligned! $NRG my fav
  • woodman: @ReneeH $NRG $CEG $ENVX - Add $VST and $GEV
  • ReneeH: @woodman $NRG $CEG $ENVX $VST $GEV for sure! top favs here
  • woodman: $CEG $GEV $VST $NRG - The Independent Power Producers are holding up just fine. Quite unoffensive. They just chug along. These have been holds for me that I haven't had to fret about. One that I think is worth watching next week and beyond in particular is $NRG. Despite it being extended still, it's in a high consolidation/squeeze with the 50d approaching from below. It may still have some more work to do, but worthy of the watchlist, IMO. I have a very small holdover position after selling most of it back in May. That was nearly a 50% gainer from my April purchase after it broke through first level resistance on 4/24. I sold almost of my holding on 5/21 (holding just a bit so I wouldn't lose sight of it). Nothing to do with this rhrn, but I am keeping closer tabs on it.
  • ReneeH: @woodman $CEG $GEV $VST $NRG I'm riding this rotation. Thanks for validating. They look good, I'll take cyclicals for a few weeks. Rinse repeat.
  • joelsg1: @woodman $CEG $GEV $VST $NRG Super early, but I'm reading that hydrogen fuel cells are potential backup and later primary clean power sources for data centers, replacing nat gas and even diesel backup generators now used. Top 2 companies are $PLUG and $BLDP, I like the latter's chart for a $1.76 spec.
  • woodman: The big power producers are still getting it done. $NRG and $GEV breaking out on good volume to make all time highs. $VST continues to move up (nearing its all time high as it completes a "V"/cup (messy left side, but pretty much straight line right side)). $CEG leaking to the upside as it moves closer toward testing its all time high.
  • woodman: @StockMarketMentor $GEV - The Independent Power Producers, with fingers in the big Nuke pie, have been gold. Long $GEV $CEG $VST $NRG from below. Btw, $NRG has a steep rising 50d heading toward price and is in a high squeeze at all time high levels. And $CEG also is in a squeeze but more of a cup and handle.
  • woodman: @cgendro1 $CEG $GEV & $VST $NRG - I have been holding a position of varying size in each of these. They have been steady eddies.
  • woodman: $CEG $GEV $NRG $VST - I'm still in these Independent Power Producers/lager nukes. The first 3 are consolidating/squeezing though still kind of far away from major moving averages (i.e. 50d). I'm just continuing to hold them as long as they don't do anything offensive.
  • traderbren: $CEG - looking constructive here. NP, but I do have a position in $VST from lower levels.
  • woodman: $CEG $VST $GEV - CEG BBs have narrowed as it holds the 21dEMA. GEV and VST uptrends continue. They did briefly break their 8dEMAs, but have bounced off the 21dEMA. I remain in these stocks.
  • cgendro1: $GEV $NRG $PWR $CEG $VST- all getting hit this am
  • woodman: @marklesparkle $NRG - I follow it closely. I was in from ~$102-$111 area with a large position, most of which I held through earnings. I sold at $155 after that big move off earnings figuring it would have to take a breather at the very leaast. It has held up, just catching its breath since then. Narrow BBs and the 21dEMA is catching up now. Still very extended, obviously, but let's keep an eye on it. The industry (Independent Power Producers) is hot (excuse the pun). Also in $CEG $GEV $VST in the same industry.
  • marklesparkle: @woodman $NRG $CEG $GEV $VST Yes I've been in and out of a few . I was a medium voltage cable splicer for 35 years so I like the Power and the $UTES
  • woodman: @marklesparkle $NRG $CEG $GEV $VST $UTES - Nice.
  • woodman: @cgendro1 $CEG $META - Nice. $CEG and $META are two of my larger holdings currently. I'm in some of the other large power producers ($VST $GEV) as well, and I bought back $NNE and a little $SMR (small reactor) yesterday. Better to be lucky than good. :-)
  • woodman: "V "is for victory: $VST $VRT $VG. Long these three.
  • woodman: $CEG $VST $GEV $NRG - These IPPs (Independent Power Producers) continue to work well. The first three continue upward along their rising the 8dEMAs. The last (NRG) is still working off that big move, going sideways along the 8dEMA as it does the work.
  • woodman: @Henry $OKLO $CCJ - I still have some of the larger power producers: $CEG $VST $GEV.
  • woodman: @Mikev200 $GEV - Yes! Good call. With the need for power generally and the Administration's stated support for nuclear specifically, the larger Independent Power Producers are doing well. I'm holding a mini-basket - this one along with $CEG $VST and a little $NRG (I sold down a large NRG position around $155 following that big pop earlier this month (around a 50% gain on most of my shares), but still holding a little and watching to buy back potentially).
  • woodman: Nuclear reactor/power stocks; Uranium stocks. I continue to hold a basket of nuclear reactor/power stocks that I've been in to one degree or another for quite some time, many from much lower. They currently include $OKLO (currently the largest positi ...
  • woodman: @kenb $OKLO $SMR $NNE $GEV - Sweet! Others include: Others: $LTBR $VST $CEG $NRG $LEU $FLNC.
  • woodman: $OKLO $SMR $NNE $GEV $LTBR $VST $CEG $NRG $LEU $FLNC Also the Uranium stocks. See $UUUU for example. Up 18% in the after.
  • woodman: @Henry $OKLO $SMR $NNE - I took profits in $OKLO, too. I have only place holders in OKLO and SMR following their big moves. I have more than a placeholder in NNE (which hasn't yet really moved), but not a large position. I have bigger positions in th ...
  • woodman: @Mpower27 $NRG $CEG $VST $D - I do not.
  • woodman: AI needs power. Lots of it. Independent Power Producers are there to deliver it. $NRG $CEG $VST are going to help provide it. NRG has doubled since its low of 4/7. It popped about 25% on its report on d 5/12. Since then it has rested in a flag. It's now edging up again. And $VST and $CEG (both of which have reported) don't look like they are done advancing.
  • Motorman: @woodman $NRG $CEG $VST Very hard to find an entry looking at the charts. I small position in. $VST.
  • Mpower27: @woodman $NRG $CEG $VST do you have an idea on why $D has been dead in the water compared to the other power generators?
  • woodman: $VST - stair-stepper. Rising support ~8-13dEMAs and rising resistance ~top BB.
  • woodman: @joelsg1 @kenb $OKLO $NNE $SMR $NRG $NLR - Many in the sector to look at. For instance, $VST is making a nice comeback, and $FLNC is interesting.
  • woodman: $FLNC - big move up through the 50d. Seems to have bottomed. Still has a good 30% before reaching the February gap, and much more if it can extend its move into the gap. I can't say that it's a buy today when already up 27% on the day, but perhaps one to keep watch of. Some of these Independent Power Producers are really moving well. I'm still holding $NRG from when it moved above the 50d in April, and more recently long $CEG in that industry. See also $NRGV $VST (no position in those).
  • cgendro1: $VST- pelosi stock :) on a tear from low of 132.59 Mon to current 173+ $SHOP- close to taking out the Dec high. vol could be better
  • cgendro1: #schwab- for those using their trading platform (Streetsmart Edge) are you seeing issues w their stock prices vs reality? ie: $VST up 16.44 but actual up 3.47 That's just one example but they are all messed up on my screens
  • pperlroth: @cgendro1 $VST #schwab- Just started a few minutes ago. Hopefully they will fix it soon.
  • cgendro1: @pperlroth $VST #schwab- TY! Nice to know it's not isolated.
  • smentor: @scottrades What are your thoughts on the beleaguered nuclear plays $NNE $VST $CEG ?
  • scottrades: @smentor $NNE $VST $CEG Not great patterns here. Maybe it bounces, but I prefer tighter price action. $VST - You could TRY some small with a stop at yesterdays low but that's more of a spec trade idea, not high probability.
