- DAN: A few stocks I am watching: $VRA -- fairly new uptrend on the X-axis (though it's doubled since Oct.). Pushing through $6.00 resistance today. $BBW -- still a bit volatile, but starting to tighten up. $FIVE -- put that out earlier this today. $URBN -- still needs to pinch a bit...but it's showing a decent setup (just not yet). $FSLR -- holding $200. $EXTR -- building right side of base. Up today. $ALGM -- good company. Really straightens those teeth out. $SCPL -- 50-day MA support $ULTA -- a bit too steep last week but holding at the 50-day MA now. Could be a good setup. $DRI Plenty more...I just got tired of typing. [By the way, I was kidding about $ALGM. They are a semi company.]

- scottto: @Aragorn - I created an interesting scan in StockCharts that looks for stocks with the following characteristics: 1) Recent 50-day low. 2) Recently increased volatility. 3) Close > 8-day EMA 4) todays 8-day EMA higher than 3 days ago 8-day EMA (arbitrary on the 3 days, could have chosen yesterday, last week, etc..) 5) Close > $5 (don't want the zillion penny stocks that these screens always pull out). 6) 20-day average volume greater than 500,000 (again don't want the illiquid collection that these screens always pull out). Here's the results: $AOL $AXS $CYH $DF $DHI $GGP $GEO $HOV $VVR $EMLC $MDC $MTH $SEAS $SE $TOL $VRA Some decent looking possibilities in there. Think I'll post over in OMM too so I/anyone can drag over the charts and check em out. Cheers.

- Tricia: VRA: This company makes "cloth" handbags and accessories - IPO'd last year - tanked for a good bit & the chart looks ....well, nothing like what you all draw, but it is 50% short - avg daily volume is 600k, in Dec 2.6M shares were shorted - look with 42 first cousins - Xmas delivered $VRA products across the US to my family members (..... perhaps @Henry or Jay or Mr. Hywyflier can present a chart interpretation for us ... I'm still learning @charting and I need to learn how to move a chart from Worden to here....but FWIW, I think this is going to run up bit this week and pay my VSIA next week...... :)

- Tricia: $VRA @Henry. Thanks for the chart. The stock is 50 % short. It actually hit the 50 day and retreated, then moved up = but not to the 50 DMA. I bought this after after Xmas because my friends in the rag trade use these for travel, and business. I also have LIZ because my friends all like Kate Spade - this is also short, but only 30%. I thought if the products were good and moved, then the shorts would be wrong. I guess that is not the best of thesis(s). Have a great night and thanks.
