- debeers: $SCI-Aren't you dying to know how a stock does that is up 3% from a pivot and reports tonight does?? Especially 1 that is 12 for 12 in beating the estimates? i guess you could leave granny on a bench on the front porch and hope for enough of a meltaway to be a Halloween Ornament, but most folks would have the decency to bury their relatives........or send them to a crematorium. i can't remember where in the woods i leave dead bodies so, for me its a godsend.

- roddog101: @debeers $SCI I have a mock portfolio that went long a basket of funeral stocks and went short life insurance companies,, did it when I found death rates were hitting a 200 yr event high, $STON and $SCI did very well but others dragged the % returns down. out of all the mock portfolios I had this is one of 2 that are green w about a 18% return since feb.

But $ALXN & $SBNY don't look they're headed up... It's curious to me how they judge discards from new additions. Maybe it's the whole week/ up or down or volume or who knows (maybe ones they own or rate highly???)

BTW. Yes been a holder of $AFSI for months, added to pull backs. $AFSI is a boring stock like $SCI ;-) never hurts having a few "low maintenance plodders," in one's portfolio. - Trixie: @Jadee #Death, $SCI has come up in the good looking charts a few times.. They are involved in the services, cemeteries as we move on to the next phase of life. The trend looks to be quite well established (5 yr wise).. I have heard on a few radio programs and from a cousin in the business that death has become quite commercialized. Trying to do a lot of upselling and consolidation in the businesses. I would imagine as in investor it would be a good area to be in, as a person who needs the services might have to watch how you spend.

A recent flat pattern converging on uptrending average counts as a "pullback". The idea is to capture "upper right" plus a pullback and bounce. This is about half the scan results, the rest were rejected for looking like rollovers, consolidation, or just "could go down further".
