- jvkeane: $GHL -- The chart is very interesting. THe 50 dma was very relevant as it served as strong resistance during the recent decline. It has obviously bottomed and rebounded very strongly, but at this point it's way too extended for my risk tolerance (even though is appears to have put in a breakaway gap today). I think it's a great way to play the strength on the #financials with none of the baggage. I also like $RJF here and it is at a much better buy point with clearly defined risk. (Guy Adami also plugged it tonite on FM). I will be watching $GHL for a pullback when it hits resistance around $85. From there a run to $95 looks doable with favorable mkt conditions. Good Luck!

- rs1607: I'm going to sell half of my $CMG and use the profits to start building a position in MCD. I'm looking at $MCD as more of a long-term idea here. Buy on weakness and write covered calls on it for the rest of my life. I'm going to take profits in $RJF and start building a short position in STBA. $STBA looks like it's in trouble...A lot of trouble.

- rs1607: What I'm doing today is looking for some early volatility squeezes. I like $RJF, $IRM, & JAH. I don't mind initiating these trades today. BUT the market has been up 3 straight days so I'm initiating partial positions on all three names while buying $SH as a hedge. I'm also adding to my short oil position. The giddyness on Bubblevision today is a red flag. Let's keep in mind that the July 1 high in the S&P 500 is 931. Also, US global volumes have remained below average of 15 billion shares per day for the past four days and would need to expand to suggest a more meaningful rally is developing. @Dan, great video last night. The $RIG analysis was terrific.

Watch the move today in $RJF in symapthy with the AGE acqusition by WB. The money managers will be even more in play as this M&A liquidity mania continues. I'm also watching the Biotech sector for more consolidation but that is one diverse minefield to play. I did add yesterday to my $BIIB core on it's news of a $5 Bil. buyback of 16% of it's outstanding float. That's obviously an attempt to forestall any takeover bid and may indicate the company is being eyed by others. However, my disciplines never allow me to buy anything on takeover speculation. The stock broke out nicely on the news and has moved higher again this morning. Good luck today.
