- debeers: Regarding holding through earnings- here's an example of what i do and its different than others here- 1. $DDS has done amazingly well this year and i won't be holding one dime's worth over earnings because i am as picky as Stevie and $DDS as great as it is has a spotty earnings history. 2. $DKS, on the other hand, has a flawless earnings history and deserves to be held thru IMO. Does that mean it won't miss? NO and would i buy it here for a new position with over a month to go before earnings? NO on that as well BUT on a market schmeiss day-it will be added to provided it can keep its head above 122 or so. 3.$LHX deserves to be held. It reports in a week-flawless. As i said yesterday-nothing wrong with $GD but not for me-occasional earnings misses.

That High Flying internet money manager back in the dot come bubble . Can’t recall his name , but I gave my broker 100k when I had my businesses going and had no time to look at markets and told him this was my two kids college money . Don’t lose it . He put it with this moron , Merrill Lynch proprietary fund, where they make 6-8 % commission and a year later the hundred grand was worth 20k . I should have sued but had bigger fish to fry . So , moral of the story , be careful . This market is ripe for massive fraud in addition to being extremely overvalued and trying my best to leave politics out of it but country not being run by rocket scientist .
