- issues: I was surprised at how many of the IBD 50 stocks were replaced! 23 out of 50 are new! That's half. I can't see any difference between the charts of those replaced with the ones they kicked off. There's no sense that I can see in the difference between the old and new. The only observation is the "new homes" were abandoned including TREX. And some of the tech were gone. For example these are new on IBD 50: $AAWW $BRO $BX $CLF $EPRT $EW $JBHT $JEF $LIN $MPW $MRVL $NFG $NMRK $PFE $PSA $QLYS $REXR $SF $SIVG $SPG $STE $VRTS $WGO. We own mrvl, pfe qlys sivg and are buying SF and VRTS in the morning Mon.

- woodman: $JEF decent pullback that may be done.
- woodman: @bRobert $SIVB $bx - those are my two financials, currently. I failed to pull the trigger on $JEF which I staked out some time ago.
- woodman: @bRobert $XLF $FAS $SIVB $BX $GS - $JEF has been a nice performer as well.
- debeers: @woodman $XLF $FAS $SIVB $BX $GS $JEF -Yup
- debeers: $GS- 2 different views today: Jeffries says the squid goes to 479 while Morgan Stanley goes to 414 and keeps its underweight. From my perspective, i have found that, long term, betting against the squid has been a bigtime losing proposition. Morgan Stanley and Goldman have long been rivals for the affections of the wealthy. i'm staying with the squid as i think the transition in power has been smooth and well thought out and i think that, no matter who goes down the drain in this country it won't be the energy companies who, paradoxically, are really protected from competition by our government and OPEC and the financials who always seem to be the screwers rather than the screwees. Just IMO as always but Tom Lee and i are on the same page here. Long $GS/$BX/$JEF-but of the three $BX and $GS are the best.
- Pokersmith: @debeers $GS $BX $JEF you're in good company aligning with Tom Lee, imho. I'm long $MS, but have nothing against $GS Something specific you know that makes $MS the second fiddle? aside from size and scope. Good luck today
- cmaxwel1: @debeers $GS $BX $JEF (I'm in $BX with full position from last week). (I am moving into $XLF with only 1/2 position).
- Docoof: @Docoof $JEF raised its PT on $NFLX to $737 from $620: “After 12+ months of sideways trading, NFLX stock has jumped ~22% in less than 2 months despite little movement in estimates. In fact, NFLX is now trading at 8.5x 2022 revenue ests the top of its 3-year range despite revenue growth ests of ~14.7% vs >24% when valuation peaked last. Street is baking in a beat or getting more comfortable with the competitive positioning.”

Per IBD The growth stock rose 2.7% on Friday and entered a buy range as it rebounded from its 10-week line on Sept. 20. Shares are also trading just above a new 37.95 entry in a three-weeks-tight pattern.

I was going to bad mouth this upgrade, but did not, thinking that I didn't want to keep anyone from a good 59 minute trade. Which it was, but I did take it. A 9% move is a good day. I don't expect it to fill the gap any time soon. It needs to come up with a plan for intercontinental travel.

- Forexpro: Re: $JEF Hi, Friends, This bank is investment banking plus trading; unlike most of its peer group (e.g. $LAZ, $EVR) it isn't "investment banking plus asset management", and culturally it arguably has somewhat sharper elbows, as well. It gets a very positive full-pager in this weekend's Barron's, and may get a pop in response tomorrow. The weekly chart as of Friday's close looks good, while the daily chart, it seems to me, is less impressive, although not terrible. Here's hoping that your weekend is going well; all the best! P.S. As of Monday at 7:18 EDT, it's at 35.70, a gain of 3.57 percent.

- Docoof: @debeers $TSLA $JEF Upgrades $TSLA to Buy on Accelerating Earnings with a pt of $850.00 Analyst Phillippe Houchois upgraded the stock to buy from hold, saying in a note to clients on Monday that Tesla was “leading the way on earnings momentum and capital allocation.” “Tesla is still leading innovation - Legacy progress on EV powertrain and line-ups, but Tesla continues to build or maintain multiple edges, notably in product complexity, inventories, direct selling and initiatives in selling subscription services,” the note said. “Despite temporary concerns about demand weakness in China, Tesla has been capacity constrained globally, with brand sales still dominating the chart and the company able to shift shipments to Europe when China turned temporarily weaker,” the note said.
