- Cjauger: @TraderGeekSam $NVDA $INTC $BA $CZR He is an amazing individual.
- wijimmy: @TraderGeekSam $NVDA $INTC $BA $CZR … .. Do we know how much of it is his OWN CASH ??? Meaning did he buy shares with his own money ?
- Henry: $INTC Another CEO bites the dust, stock up in pm
- traderbren: @Henry $INTC - yep, I figured it was just a matter of time before he was shown the door and the stock would pop, but let's see if it can stick.
- phgruver: @RichardinME $AMD Let me ask you a simple question: Which are you more likely to buy, a new smart phone or a new desktop computer? $AMD, and it's nearest competitor $INTC make the bulk of of their money selling CPU's for desktop systems. While they both also have graphics processors, and other chip sets, they are both struggling to remain relevant in the rapidly changing digital environment. While I'm not ready to write either one of them off, neither is hitting it out of the park either. As a long term investment? Maybe.... ...But, RHRN, there are better places to put your money.
- kenb: @RichardinME $AMD yes, from initial entry in 2018 with a large cushion. Using that position trade around the core holding - trim off the top when price is high, and purchase back when prices are low. I do not day or swing trade on this. I do have a lot of conviction in the company and the CEO Lisa Su. In the past, she took on $INTC and is winning, and now she is competing with $NVDA. Smart lady and well respected by Wall Street.
- RichardinME: @kenb $AMD $INTC $NVDA It's going unloved and not talked about now. Just bought a small position as I think sometime next year it will be on the ATL and will be loved again when its well over 200.
- MongosPawn: $INTC I like the look of the recent pullback bounce in the daily chart (aka phase 3). Added a little.
- ruskinq2: @MongosPawn $INTC i'm in too from yesterday, maybe there's a benefit from new admin...
- camaro69: $INTC trying to go after earnings
- scottrades: @camaro69 $INTC Watch for a move to the 28.90 area
- traderbren: @champ $NVDA - looks like someone new that $NVDA would be added to the DJI, replacing $INTC ;-)
- kenb: @traderbren $NVDA $INTC wow, that is huge. Just announced on CNBC. And Sherwin-Williams replacing $DOW.
- bill52: $INTC Intel does "less bad" on its earnings release and is up 14% AH.
- kenb: @billyzeke $SMCI $NVDA $ASML $AMD for me as a long-term position investor for capital appreciation, it's been great. Started a large position in 2018 when it was fighting $INTC for market share, I still have a large position with a cost basis of $10. Over the years, I've been trading around the core position, selling a little when it was trading in a high range, and buying back a little at lower levels on pull-backs such as these. And wall street likes Lisa Su. I'm usually not very good at swing trading.
- billyzeke: @kenb $SMCI $NVDA $ASML $AMD $INTC Nice!
- kenb: @RichardinME $AMD no, it didn't have any impact in the AH action. They painted a good roadmap on what they are doing to compete with $NVDA, but they are still number 2 by a wide margin. Pretty much what she did with $INTC in the CPU arena, and is winning that battle gaining market share from them. It's a long-term hold for me, so I'm not worried about daily action. And there were reports that $NVDA's Blackwell GPU is sold out for the next year. Will potential customers be able to wait that long, and $AMD's offerings are cheaper. So, they will sell, it depends on how much they can sell. One take-away from her CNBC interview tonight, is that they didn't announce any new customers at the event, so that is one negative that the analysts picked up on.
- billyzeke: $INTC breaking above the 50 day
- phgruver: $INTC is bumping up over $24. I don't know how much upside there is, in this one, but it's been dragging bottom ever since it reported disappointing earnings back on Aug 1. (It didn't help that the Japanese carry trade collapse hit a couple of days later.) I'm long, in a LT account, and have some $22 options ....
- ruskinq2: @phgruver $INTC thinking $30, rest, then $35
- woodman: @phgruver $INTC - It's hitting the overhead 50d now, but it's now in the gap, which could be a big fill, potentially. See 8/1-8/2 gap. Gap fill is about $29
- phgruver: Good morning, y'all. Running through my watch list, I'm not seeing anything to get excited about. I had really expected $INTC to be more in play, but, so far, pre-market, it's trading right around where it closed on Friday.
- jnors12: $INTC Looks like Intel has been halted $QCOM Qualcom approached Intel for a possible takeover
- scottrades: $INTC unhalted and moving.
- bwcarnation1: @scottrades $INTC news about a deal with $QCOM (potential deal)
- DavidK: @bwcarnation1 $INTC $QCOM somebody has to put them out of their misery it would appear . I am gambling with some calls . Haven’t heard a price ? My bet min 35
- bwcarnation1: @DavidK $INTC $QCOM reading they are interested in portions of $INTC design business
- DavidK: @bwcarnation1 $INTC $QCOM where are the chart masters . Maybe Carter Worth will be on Fast Money tonight. Big gap to fill between here and 30 .
- woodman: @DavidK $INTC $QCOM - INTC gap starts at $21.98. Gap-fill would $28.89. See 8/1-8/2.
- scottrades: @DavidK $INTC $QCOM Pretty logical area for the stock to fill.
- DavidK: @scottrades $INTC $QCOM that’s the way I am playing it with Oct 23 calls for a trade . Most likely get pinned at 22 today by the manipulators
- phgruver: @DavidK $INTC $QCOM Yup, a battle to close it below $22, to kill the options.
- phgruver: @phgruver $INTC $QCOM Open interest at $22 is 49,167. If they can push it down below $22, that will save them a lot of money!
- DavidK: @phgruver $INTC $QCOM like buddy of mine from the business use to tell me , if these crooks can beat you out of drink money they will try and do it .
- bodyboy: Anyone have an opinion on $INTC breaking out of consolidation? Possibly fill gap to $28.80
- phgruver: @bodyboy $INTC That would be a heck of a move, plus 36%! I do expect $INTC to move up, but it will be more gradual. This is a mega-cap stock with a well established market position (about 90% of desktop computers.) From here, I think $25 would be a more reasonable target, by year end.
- bodyboy: @phgruver $INTC Thank you.l
- phgruver: @champ $AMD $QQQ $NVDA #U-turn $NVDA is only 8% of $QQQ, whereas it is over 21% of $SMH. As for "competition", $AMD and $INTC are the only credible competitors, both having respectable 3-D Graphics Processors of their own. AI, of course, is a different animal, but it is being built on 3-D Graphics Processors. What $NVDA is trying to do is create a special processor that is optimized for AI. You think that $INTC and $AMD aren't working on it as well? The "moat" on this isn't as wide as some people think. $NVDA has a head start, but there are some really sharp chip designers who don't work for $NVDA....
- champ: @phgruver $AMD $QQQ $NVDA $SMH $INTC #U-turn...I was just talking in general terms, for a sector turn or could watch for a turn in the $COMPX, for stocks in the tech sector....for tech stock Entries, could watch both or all three, whatever works for you..........
- champ: $INTC is Now at $21.60, Day-5 and the low was around $19....so that was and Easy-money-Trade..up around 14%...however I keep moving my visual Stop-up. All kinds of trades, in the Traders Tool-Box...and this Dog-trade, was off of positive-News...and for Now, is still positive, however I will be seeing if it continues. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
- vitoB: @mhuie $WOLF I think so , they are inthe same boat as $INTC as they are bringing up fabs in the US. but the earnings next week pretty muchmake this a binary ticker. are we at low point for cash burn and earnings it will turn, if they push out cash flow it might go to ten. im long so I think its been overdone as the shorts should cover some into the print. $AMAT numbers give me some concern and some reports theres a shortage in some car parts is a concern.
- DavidG: @DrScience $PFE $INTC I think the lack of influenza B titers in the phase 2 trial is a minor issue because influenza B is relatively rare in the US compared to Influenza A. I believe today's drop in the $PFE stock is an over- reaction to the repo ...
- champ: $INTC fell back to $19.50 and #Barron's just came out with an upgrade, with a positive Buy signal ... because it is so low, it is so cheap, that it is currently at #low-Book-value, per Barron's. ~~~~~They are saying, a buy on the Cheap........ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
- champ: $INTC....buy-Low and sell-Higher, I believe that I heard that many times before, so it must be true.
- billyzeke: @champ $INTC #Barron #low-Book-value I love Intel's processors, they are the best on the market. But the stock...I dunno, it might get even cheaper.
- traderbren: @champ $INTC - LOL ;-)
- champ: @billyzeke $INTC is at $19.80.... #Barron #low-Book-value....I guess that they were not moving with AI fast enough, however they probably are now........ ....and Barrons guess is, that the Low is in....and it's probably just a matter of time before it starts its move off of the bottom....and the bottom was just at $18.84, so it might be starting....... .....and this Dog probably doesn't even need a leash, at this low level. A stock that gets positive News on the bottom, usually moves...and Barron's doesn't even come out until the weekend....so this new News is early and if it does bounce, that won't happen until Monday. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
- champ: @traderbren $INTC...This Set-up is about Monday.....on what #others might think about this new #News, this new Positive-rating, off the bottom-of-the-barrel.
- champ: @traderbren...$INTC......#Barron's has a Business-show on Fox-Business, on Saturday mornings and that show is call #Barrons-Roundtable, we will see what they say...and that show re-runs over the weekend, a few times...and one of those re-runs also happens on Sunday morning. ....Plus Barrons paper comes out on Friday night or Saturday morning. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
- Geewhiz: @champ $INTC #Barron #Barrons-Roundtable Buying next January $20 options.
- billyzeke: @champ $INTC #Barron #low-Book-value Lot's of people read and watch Barrons so it may give them a boost, I've made myself a note to keep and eye on it Monday starting in the pre-market.
- jnors12: @billyzeke $INTC #Barron #low-Book-value I just saw this on Fidelity: https://www.trendforce.com/news/2024/08/09/news-intel-delays-innovation-2024-event-amid-financial-challenges-arousing-publics-curiosity-on-18a
- billyzeke: @jnors12 $INTC #Barron #low-Book-value Yep, It's no wonder that their stock is in the cellar, they have a lot issues right now.
- phgruver: It goes without saying, $INTC disappointed last night. EPS came in at $0.02/share vs expectations of $0.10/share, an 80% miss (small numbers tend to exaggerate). Revenue came in at $12.83B, vs expectations of $12.98B, a YOY decline of about $120M. In addition, $INT guided lower for next quarter, aiming for a loss of ($0.03)/share on reduced revenue of $12.5B to $13.5B. Was this the "Kitchen Sink" quarter? Don't know, but all the analysts are tripping all over themselves in their rush to lower their price targets by about $10/share. The range is now $25-$28, where it was from $35-$40 (with outliers.) Oh yes, $INTC also cancelled their dividend.

StockMarketMentor: ...
$INTC looks like it's finding support here, but this is a dog stock and it's not something that I'd be interested in buying -- though a move above $22 could probably lead to a quick profit.
$AMZN -- Don't buy this even if you have a Prime Members ... - vitoB: with people dumping $INTC, the domestic fab production trade should still be on, it takes them a couple years, so of course there's $MU $TXN and spec is $WOLF, none of them would be for logic, also $AMD used to be in development with $GFS before the Saudi's backed the ny fab expansion, I could see a future development where $AMD decides (or gets forced to by market) to combine forces with $INTC and help them run wafers...totally spitballin, but in any case these names are coming back in and looking where to buy is my focus
- ssoha20: $INTC what are your experiences with this stock as you all ( most of you ) might be trading since 1997. I see the stock is back to that levels now..
- Henry: @ssoha20 $INTC Haven't owned it in years. Here is a quarterly chart. Looks like it will become a teenager again
- scottrades: $INTC Miss and getting rid of the Divy.... Down nearly 12%
- billyzeke: @scottrades $INTC I I wish they could get things turned around there, they still make the best CPUs on the market. No position.
- champ: $INTC...this is the #Dog-of-the-Day and this Dog doesn't have any positive reasons to hold, for Now, however the More-it-Drops, the better it looks....... ....and Now, it is just too-late, too Sell...but I hope that they will..... .....and then maybe, could pick-up a few bloody $$$$, off of the floor, at some point....... on any U-turn, in the coming Days or Weeks, for a 30 to 60 day hold, for a Parking-position. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
- scottrades: My video notes: $SPY Near the 50 Day $QQQ Under the 50 Day $IWM Sharp Reversal $DXY Bottom of the range $TNX Breaking down $GLD Still in trend $GDX Closer to support $XLV Good RS $XLU Protective $SMH Watch for a bounce $INTC Down Bad $AMZN Watch for a bounce $COIN Good Earnings reaction $CVNA Good earnings reaction $NEM New 2024 High $EGO Support at the 21 EMA $T Good volume today $JNJ Trying to come off the bottom $ABT Above the 200 Day but extended. $CHDN Mentioned by Dan
- phgruver: $INTC will be reporting earnings on 8/1 after the bell. While they beat by $0.04 last qtr., they issued soft guidance, which caused the stock to tank, and hit a 52 week low of $29.73 on 5/8/24. This morning, we are seeing $INTC selling at $31.35, not much above that low. Earnings are expected to be about $0.10/share. The dividend is only $0.50/year, or 1.59%, so this this isn't going to provide much support. Still, this pullback may be an opportunity to add to an existing position. For better or worse, $INTC still owns desktop computing, and notebooks with $INTC processors are in high demand.
- champ: $INTC is HOD at $36.00, Under-Valued, is the guess and I sure don't really know where this is going, however I have a Spec...and I'm trailing. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~`
-
champ: ...
...$INTC...new Spec, Trailing.
~~~$KMI....really had a nice move this morning....and as on RHRN,.. it looks like the zig-zag low was around $20.80 and I did get Back-in at $20.84........
I had a real nice surprised this morning, on that Great-Bounc ... - stairm01: $INTC Is up 4%. All other tech stocks down. Is this because they are building a huge facility outside of Johnstown, Ohio near me and bringing chip stocks home to the USA?
- PhilHarmonic: @stairm01 $INTC The company is a componet of the DJIA. They are down substaniall from their highs. Investors are betting that they will do better in the coming years with our new semi conductor policies.
- jonwest88: $INTC chips are going to hell but Intel rises from the pit? $ASML, $AMAT, $NVDA
- champ: $PSTG... $INTC...I dropped both of these positions this morning on the open and as of Now ...and $SOUN at $5.45, is the only tech position that I'm still holding and I'm watching it closely this morning...because I would like to add-on, at some point...soon...... ....however I will be looking for Back-in-Entries in the tech-sector. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
- champ: $INTC...HOD...Day-4 on this slow move, this is major lagger and this Dog could wake-up and that could happen at anytime. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
- StockMarketMentor: Good morning Team! Futures are up following some nice moves in the chips yesterday. $NVDA is testing yesterday's high in the premarket, we’re also seeing some positive follow through on $INTC. $AMD is down slightly this morning but along with $ ...
- phgruver: This is $INTC's 3rd day outside the upper Bollinger Band. I'm looking for a pullback closer to the 20DMA to add. This breakout came out of a pretty tight squeeze. Earnings are 7/25 after the bell....
- champ: Here we go, the start of going into the close.....and $INTC...is looking positive.
- FredsFreedom: $INTC , day 2
- woodman: @FredsFreedom $INTC - Big move into the gap.
- geotheo: @FredsFreedom $INTC WIsh I had more of 32 calls but I can't chase $INTC. It some times has a way to turn happy times to not so happy times.
- champ: $INTC...Volume spike....
- champ: The Markets might get another nice close today....I'm watching $GLW $INTC $DELL and a few others...we will see if these nice moves, continue into the close, just never know...how things are going to play out.
- champ: $INTC is now HOD.
- efrain007: $INTC trying to pop out of squeeze, base, 50d
- joelsg1: @FredsFreedom Pls. put the $ next to the ticker in posts so we can hover and see chart, so $INTC.
- FredsFreedom: $INTC breakout from consolidation
- joelsg1: @FredsFreedom $INTC Thanks.
- Pard: $INTC getting squeezed awfully tight. Watching
- phgruver: @Margi1983 $QCOM Snapdragon competes with $ARM and $APPL. As for $INTC, not so much. All the smart-phone centric stocks are down. I don't think there's a problem, just a normal bout of profit taking prior to the end of the quarter.
- Margi1983: @phgruver $QCOM $ARM $APPL $INTC Thanks. $QCOM is at S3. Easy buy with a stop below the low of 217.50
- Wolf: $INTC Up 1.5% PM on new chips. Watching for a quick trade.
DAN: ...
I have been saying for a while that new positions should be few and small, and that the market is likely to pull back further. The secular uptrend is intact, and Q1 was pretty darned good for most stocks. But we're in a different phase of the mark ... - phgruver: @Henry $AMD An interesting conundrum. China is threatening to ban all US chips, but almost all US personal computers (and servers) run on either an $INTC or $AMD cpu. As China manufactures almost all the mother boards, how's that going to work? Long term, I think $AMD and $INTC are going to do just fine, but right now, there's a lot of turmoil in semi's.
- bigbartabs: @phgruver $AMD $INTC ... and with Tawain at a continual risk of a China move... the chip sector is under even more turmoil.
- RD: @bigbartabs $AMD $INTC $AMD back above opening price.
- RD: @RD $AMD $INTC never mind...
- phgruver: @billyzeke $SMH $NVDA is over 20% of $SMH, so keep that in mind. Chips, as a whole, seem to be in consolidation. Some chips, such as $AVGO, $TSM and $TXN are holding up pretty well. Others are doing a bit worse. $AMD has pulled back 27% from it's high, as has $INTC. That's correction territory! If the economy doesn't tank, though, I think semi's, and technology as a whole, are going to do OK. In fact, I would expect technology to lead any new surge higher, I just don't know when that will be.
- billyzeke: @phgruver $SMH $NVDA $AVGO $TSM $TXN $AMD $INTC Yep, NVDA was the one I really had my eye on and it was falling off a cliff. The SMH is still okay and in it's sideways trend but I was beginning to get worried there when it looked like it was going break below that 219 level . Semis usually seem to lead the market both up and down so I keep a pretty close watch on them.
