Will hold on as it looks strong and has lots of room upside - R1 @ $4.10, R2 @ $4.5. Price gaped above downtrending line from 2/24 - 3/9 - 4/22, stok not yet overbought.

Stops took me out of $COR and $NVDA today, re-entered small position in $NVDA just to keep ":an iron in the fire". Established new positions in $BEAT, $LITE, $HMY, $OCLR, $OLED (ho ... - Remington: @jagmiami $AUY $HMY you need to look at when earnings for them are . I know AUY earnings are very close , think IAG is also close. Not sure about HMY but unless the quarter is bad they will all trade with a pretty strong correlation to gold moves . Will look into it later and see if I can give u more info...

Over the past several weeks there have been a lot of commentary on gold stocks in general. @Dan has covered several of these himself both in the forum and nightly videos. FWIW, $NEM looks the best to me - though you didn't mention it.

Also, what do you think about hedging with Copper? Long $ABX, $GSS
- cmac: $HMY taking a starter position in this gold miner. Stop around 14.35, as it could fall to the 50 day....which is rapidly catching up with the stock here.
- joanie: $OIL and $GOLD - I bought $DNR and $HMY right at their highs today, knowing that there's a good chance that I'll be paying for that later. But I had to weigh out risk/reward. I've had a lot of stops kick in, I also simply did a lot of unloading today. So I bought $DNR and $HMY today. If there's bad news due to global events I don't want to get caught in a bad way, and I think that downside risk can hurt me more than this all being resolved over the weekend and my stocks popping back up. I even unloaded stuff that was close to support because if a correction gets triggered by this (IF?) or there's a big reaction to some event I can buy back and risk missing a pop. Here's hoping.

- Lou: Physical metals - Aragorn555 - and congrats to you as well. $SWC has been a barn burner. Don't get me wrong, I like and own miners as well - my $EGO lots are up an average of 104.5% since I've started accumulating - and I've traded in and out (currently out) of $GDX, $GOLD, $HMY and AGM. At the moment though I favor and own the physical $PALL and $GLD though with the latter I am also short puts and calls. BTW, I love to short naked puts and calls as a trading method and one name I do a lot with is GLD. Thanks for the reply. @Lou
- karkn: $GDX and gold stocks - Anybody looking at $GDX or associated gold stocks. Lots of them are sitting right around support (typically the 50 dma) after the last three days of consolidation. $ABX, $AUY, $GG, $GSS, $HMY, $KGC, $SLW (@silver) all look pretty interesting to me. I noted that gold (the metal) was up thursday and $GLD may be strengthening as @Dan noted. $GGN (@Dana's gold yielder also looking good). Gold futures up 12 as I write this so maybe these will gap up.

- Suzie: Russ, On the subject of why $GDX performs differently GLD: $GLD holds 33,802,801 ounces of gold. $GDX is a compilation of equities the two largest holdings being $ABX and G.TO (Goldcorp). That makes $GLD a purer play vs. $GDX as there are no other fundamental factors affecting the price. $GLD simply moves with the price of gold. $GDX has to worry about what's going on with $ABX (they just had a 4Q loss announced on Friday). The top 10 holdings of $GDX are: $AU, $ABX, $GFI, G.TO (GG), $HMY, K.TO (KGC), LIHR, $NEM, and GOLD. Here is my take on the $AUY chart: http://tinyurl.com/anmd8g

Gold & Miners -- I looked at $GLD and miners on my watchlist and note that while they all seem to have had a strong day, only $EGO, $GLD, $GOLD, $HMY and $RGLD are set up withe the 20dma above the 50dma and the 50dma above the 200dma. Those look particularly strong and I marvel at just how strong $RGLD has been. $AEM still has the 50dma below the 200dma. All of them have had an above average volume day. As those of you who have seen my prior posts know, I'm a relatively inexperienced technician, so I ask, "does this make a difference in selecting golds to trade?" @Lou

Since your previous roundup I've replicated your $TC charts to show uncluttered line charts of gold stocks, including miners, $GDX and $GLD, with the comparison to HUI-X. I've included $SLV, but it continues to under perform. It seems to me that those of the stocks that were under performing HUI-X continue to under perform. That said, it appears that the cream of the crop remain the same. The ones that seem to have outperformed the HUI-X are $ABX, $EGO, $GOLD, $IAG, $NEM & KGC. Together with $GLD, they make for a decent shopping list. I have starter positions in $EGO, $GOLD and $HMY and am looking to expand. I will probably expand by selling some puts to lower my entry price. @Lou
