Put a good chunk of my 95 year old Mother's portfolio in it at ~17 in early July

  • DAN: $FICO -- Note that FICO broke out of a 3-day pivot today. It's been volatile and is NOT coming out of a volatility squeeze. So buying now is a risk. I'm not buying it because I am being very selective. But thought I'd mention it because I just covered it.
  • Bert953: @DAN $FICO yes, would have been a good 59min trade, but missed it. too late now so movin on down the road.

  • vatradergreg: Closed $FICO for a scratch from Friday's session. Didn't like the trade towards the end of the close so taking this high open to close it down.
  • vatradergreg: Starting a position in $FICO with a nice low risk entry. Consolidating back to the 50MA after its pop on 7/29, I suspect we'll see higher prices, but if not, setting a stop in the $415 area. $48O multi-week target and higher for longer term.
  • DAN: $FICO is breaking out...but this is a very thin stock. I got an alert and considered buying it, but decided that the stock was just too illiquid to risk putting anything into it for a trade. As an investment, it's a different story. The stock has been trading sideways in a squeeze for the past couple of months, and the 3-5 year growth rate in earnings is 14%. Earnings/sales/margins are also growing each quarter. So it's an attractive investment. But as I've typed this, there have been no transactions. It's as if the stock has been halted for trading. Not for me...but maybe for someone else. Dan

  • scottto_2: @Reif99 $AMT $FICO $HD $LOW $RH $SWKS - Any or all look like possible winners. Long $RH at what seems to be nearing the end of a long consolidation.

  • CdrJake: $FICO still working after break out from 366. Measuring gap would take this puppy to 440-460 (depending on if you measure intraday highs and lows, or closing prices). Long at 373.
  • Brice: $FICO Over $370. B/O from C&H scottrades mentioned in one of his recent videos. I am In small. This is a wkly c&h with measured move to ~ $474.
  • scottrades: My Swing notes: $SSO Down slightly. Not quite Markets In Turmoil just yet. $QLD Low Volume. Everyone must be shopping today. $CASH Loose bands, but holding above the 50Day. Look for a higher Low. $YETI Some weakness into the close. Might want to consider selling some into strength on the next pop. $MFC Coming out of a Squeeze, 50 Day is curling up. $FICO Cup & Handle. Watch above 370 $ORCC Slow mover but pays a 7% Yield. 2 Ways to trade this. (Buy and Hold for the Divy or wait for a break above 18.30) $LKQ Good volume today. You want it to stay above 35.66 $MO Bands are getting tight. Good volume the last few days. $AMT Good volume and a push above the 50 Day $SYK Nice pickup in volume a move above the 50 Day. $LDOS Popped out of a squeeze on great volume.
  • champ: @scottrades $SSO $QLD $CASH $YETI $MFC $FICO $ORCC $LKQ $MO $AMT $SYK $LDOS ---- The $SPY, is not even close to dropping yet, for now. The word Turmoil, is not a word that I would use. The $SSO is up 10.92% off of the 12/5 low and the last 3-days, this has been holding the flat line, which is really positive, for now...at this market level. Just saying... because I'm holding a position.
  • stairm01: @scottrades $SSO $QLD $CASH $YETI $MFC $FICO $ORCC $LKQ $MO $AMT $SYK $LDOS $AMT is in a tight VS at the 50 and 200 dma which is one of @Dan favorites. I'll be watching closely for a continuation move from today.
  • DrScience: $FICO It's not just your credit score; it's also a Company! Should have been looking at this $60 ago; just showed up on my 3-Up-At-52-Week-High Scan. Alert set for pullback to $215
  • numbers:
  • debeers: SLM-with all the freakin' loan forgiveness going around, isn't it nice to know as an investor that $SLM loans are non-recourse. Which, by the way, means thse folks can pester you to the grave and beyond.Even declaring bankruptcy has no effect on these loans. Why beyond? 70% of their loans are now co-signed loans, also the $FICO standards have gone up. In reviewing their blance sheet, I noticed that the default rate was down 55bps for May. An easier metric is this one: with a 8.4% growth rate and a 9.4 p/e, they are almost selling for tangible book (which means they are dirt cheap).Almost totally insti owned and a Leon Cooperman fave for years, the stock has a target of between 27 and 28 on it. I modeled 28 like Credit Suisse which isn't a lead pipe cinch but even at 27, that is a 15% upside
  • cmac: $FICO I've set alerts on FICO.....vol #squeeze. Been consolidating for several months now. The 50 day has caught up to the price level. Its in the winners circle. We heard an increase in loan demand from $JPM which may translate into more business for FICO. I'm liking the setup.
  • optionswealth: $FICO - I see what you mean. My only concern is how far it is above the 200 dma.
  • cmac: $FICO don't ask me why, but $FICO is strong here. Recently broke out of a vs, and if the pattern holds, it should consolidate here for several weeks. Setting an alertr for breakout above 30.50. no position.
  • LaurieAnn: $MA V $AXP It looks like $MA and $V are have been diverging from $AXP for several weeks. This probably has something to do with the $FICO score report. #CNBC reported that $FICO scores above 800 were holding pretty well while $FICO below 680 were decreasing. The pair trade would be long $AXP short MA. LA

That is, did this couple have large $FICO score, huge downpayment, and no other debt? Or did they put next to nothing down (like most car purchases), have a low $FICO score, and receive a customary 15% interest rate. I don't mean to bash @Scott, ...

I agree with Marcin. Over the past 10 years, the U.S. (and other countries) experienced the greatest credit excesses in our history. In no other time in our history were folks able to buy 2,3,4 houses with little/no money down and no income verif ...
  • royboy34: @Dan - The devil will be in the details with these cheap rates. For example, most lenders will want a $FICO score above 700, 20% equity, and a debt/income ratio not to exceed 35%. If a borrower doesn't meet these standards, that 4% rate will ultima ...
  • royboy34: @JW, I agree with you. We have a tapped out consumer (average credit card debt of $9,200 per household, falling real estate prices (might stop with the lower rates, but banks continue to hoard money and are making home loan approvals very difficult with 20 down payments, 660 $FICO score, and a debt/income of no greater than 40% (makes it difficult to get approved without a 12% interest rate), rising enemployment, falling retailers (i.e. Linens $N Things), pending commercial real estate market about ready to blow-up, and the lack of transparency in the economic slowdown in that little country called...China. Granted, the market is a discount mechnism, but I don't believe the worse is priced in. Until I see the well-defined downtrend break, Ms. Market confirms my sentiment.
