- steve71: $ERII Energy Recovery has done well in weak market. Their main focus is water desalination. The greatest expense (70%) in desalination is energy. ERII devices increase efficiency by 60%. The company is ramping revenue based on retrofitting existing desal plants and equipping new ones. The famous IRA bill, designed to increase inflation, includes funding for desal projects. Most of the world is facing water shortages related to climate change. There's lots of salty water but only 5-10% is fresh and potentially drinkable. Long

- romar: China (chensu.2005) they been having this problem for decades along with electricity. kass in his annual list is long $PHO CGO...however, i think $ERII is the play...kass recommended one more etf...but cannot remember. but as you can see their charts look questionable. long $PHO shares in and out of ERII. what global warming....with all the flooding and snow...or maybe this is it. good trading.

- Sizzle: Went long $ERII right before a 50K block moved the stock down 1 point. Instead of immediately exercising my Stop, I've hung on and the stock has recovered a lot of the move. That's the danger in thin stocks and no buyers. One motivated seller can cause a dramatic move. The technicals aren't completely screwed and I'll hold and look for more recovery tomorrow but will sell on another big dip like today.
- Sizzle: One sector that I've been long in for several months is water. Mostly in the etf's - $PHO and $PIO, but also have a couple a recent IPO's in $AWK and ERII. There's been tremendous news flow, especially in Dallas, about the increases in the pricing of potable water and the area municipalities that are ensuring supplies by locking in long term contracts. $ERII just had an IBD article on the company - it's a desalination technology company. It's very early in the IPO but with any sort of broad market cooperation at all, I see it doing well. Anyone else into water?
- dcash: Sizzle, we are on the same page today. water seems like a natural play, but it seems like the cost involved in the water based projects/desalination is almost prohibitive on making good profits. $ERII has been on my radar. It's got good margins and growth, but a trailing PE of 87. yikes. am looking a little more closely at PHO. d
