- Eng_trader: @champ $GUSH #Bounce-trades Yes, I've been adding to this sector recently, building positions and trailing stops. #oil has bounced off of $67 many times, watching it closely for a start of a possible uptrend. Summer is here, demand should go up, supply is still very restricted. And that's just #oil. #Natural Gas and #LNG is where the real growth is going to be. I'm currently in $DEN, $RIG, $LNG, $FLNG, and high dividend pipeline company $ENB. Lots of other ones look good also. All up from my entries.

- phgruver: @natural $XLE $ERX Yes, these are extended! I'm holding $APA $ENB and $KMI, and have some $90 calls on $XLE. I wish I had more, but I can't buy more here....
- phgruver: @vcondry $FLNG See comments below on $UNG. NatGas is in a downtrend. I do own $ENB, as a dividend play, and it's down too. The NatGas market is well supplied, for now, which is not conducive to higher prices.

- DAN: @mariner $WMB $ENB $EPD I don't know whether it will impact them at all. Charts are brutal and there's no indication that the market is even thinking about them. Business is bad for oil/gas pipeline companies. Nothing being built over here, that's for sure.

They announced it is pleased with today's decision from the Minnesota Court of Appeals, which acknowledges the Minnesota Public Utilities Commission's thorough review of the Line 3 Replacement Project (L3RP) and confirms that commissioners appropriately approved the project's environmental impact statement (EIS), certificate of need and route permit. The replacement project is finished in Canada, Wisconsin and North Dakota and construction is more than 60 percent complete in Minnesota. The project is on track to be in service in the fourth quarter of 2021.

As for the energy sector I bought into $ENB on Friday. I like the consolidation and then breakout from a volatility squeeze near the 50MA. I also like the 6% dividend yield. Looks to have reversed a multi-year downtrend (from mid 2015). Stop is arou ... - phgruver: $ENB is getting pummeled because of a delay in getting the permits for their Line3 pipeline. This pipeline is to be a supplement/replacement for their Mainline System through Minnesota. The permits have been delayed by about 6 months, which will delay construction by about a year. The dividend was 5.96%, so this pullback will kick it well over 6%. Not a "high yielder", but a solid income producer. Once the selling abates, this could be a good place to add.

- phgruver: @Robert1965 $UGAZ $UNG If you research natural gas, you'll find that there are low stockpiles , going into the winter heating season, and a fear of shortage, over the next month or two. While the price of crude oil is declining, because of oversupply, the price of Nat.Gas has been climbing to a multi-year high. FWIW, some of the increased oil production is a byproduct of natural gas production. Watch $COG, $LNG, and maybe $ENB (formerly SE). I'm sure others can chip in with their favorite Nat.Gas stocks.

- phgruver: $ENB halted trading, for a few minutes, this morning. They resumed at 9:34am. The reason for the halt was a major jump in price following the approval of their Line 3 replacement project by Minnesota Public Utilities Commission. $ENB pays a $2.09/year dividend, which is about 6%.
- phgruver: Today has been a round trip for lots of issues, but $ENB continues to hold near the HOD. May have more juice....
- phgruver: $ENB is down 2.53% today. They decided to take a page out of $KMI's playbook, and made an offer to buy up their MLP, $EEQ. The per share price hasn't been announced, but $EEQ has been struggling. They have no regular dividend, and have, instead been paying the limited partners with fractional shares in $EEQ. $ENB, on the other hand pays $2.09/share, or 6.71% at the current price. $ENB is a Canadian company, so if you own it, you do get to pay Canadian income tax....

$OXY - breaking down out of squeeze - phgruver: $ENB reported 1st quarter this morning. Their EPS was .43 vs consensus of .45. Not a bad miss, but still a miss. I got stuck with $ENB when the bought out $SE, which I've held ever since $DUK spun them off several years ago. The dividend of 1.79/year is worth holding onto. Not a high yielder, but a steady payer.
- phgruver: @Name Changes: $SE is now trading as $ENB, and $CSAL is now trading as $UNIT. SE was bought out by ENB, but the dividend is equivalent. CSAL just changed their name. I'm sure there was a good reason for the name change....

- jojo1480: CLR- @scottdipietro, I missed your qq in Fri Forum. The only option play I have in $CLR is collar/bear call spread (have huge profits, and about 5mos away from LT cap gains). I have bought puts, sold otm calls, and to make sure my upside is not capped, bought otm calls (created a bear call spread & married put). I did sell $WLL before earnings and have added to my $CLR position (hedge position only on 50% size), and opened new position in $OAS (many rumors re takeover, ala BEXP-which I owned). I am long the Bakken oil plays $CLR CLH $HAL OAS, might want to take a look @ $EOG EPD and the peripheral players $ENB EEP (parent co of ENB). Have a great weekend. edit $EEM wrong symbol

I guess this replaces the one ENP planned with $ETP but couldn't get the commitments to fill it. $EPD popping a little on the news. $EPD has pretty much done nothing this year( which may be a plus since so much has gone down). 5.96% yield so not a hog. Not even a very large piglet. This could be a positive for oil producers in the west and Dakotas. It may bring up the value of WTI. $WNR, $ALN, and other western refiners will get squeezed.

- richard9f: Nat Gas Noticed the pop in UNG. The pure play producers could be making a st bottom (CHK, $ECA, etc), but the MLPs and pipelines look to be more attractive trade here. The mlp etf is AMJ and is squeezing. DEP bounced off its 50day and could play catch-up to LINE and EPD. On the pipelines, $ENB could be popping out of a #squeeze, while $PAA tagged its 50d and could also play catch-up here.

- strasse: One of the sectors which appears to be developing good $RS and has moved into more positive territory is the Util/Gas sector. These were the ones showing the strongest attributes $ENB, EP, $EQT, $MMP, $MWE, NRGP, $SWN TRP, $UGP and might be considered as starter positions in LT ports. The group looks pretty good right now many are turn ... - cgendro1: @bvr_murthy- I was struck by the Steel and Iron chart from a weekly perspective. A few I will watch are $MTL, $SID, $GGB, $AKS, $MT, $MM,CRS. I looked at all in weekly and daily timeframes. The one I am most inclined towards is MM. $MM and $AKS have leading money flows on the Worden software. I also looked at the Oil and Gas Pipeline group. $ENB got smashed and on a weekly chart looks to be at a good buy area. $WMB and CPNO also have some interest I am also looking at the the oil and gas drilling and exploration group. I would like $ATW and $RIG on pullbacks. Oil and gas equipment services is building a base which I intend to watch for breakout. As for light sweet crude, appears to be heading to 85 barring any major political unrest
- Virgil25: Bought $NBR, $PKD, $HP today. As I mentioned a while back, natural gas will be the choice hydrocarbon fuel enivronmentally and currently is cheaper than oil in terms of BTUs. I already own a lot of $CHK and believe the drillers something to acquire now. Also those pipelines that serve both natural gas and oil should be acquired. I (of course) checked the chains before writing and you are right - there's a lot of money that says oil's going down in the next few months. I haven't had a chance to fully analyze the CoT report, but I'm now a bit leery of the positions there. I'll have to ask whether a pension fund is "commercial" if they own crude that $ENB stores, or if they are still non-commercial. Certainly the small speculators are betting heavily on a drop, but now I'm not sure how to interpret the other numbers. Ah well, yet another thing to do in order to keep from making a dumb trade today.
