- StockMarketMentor: Adding DoorDash ($DASH) to the ATI List. The stock is gapping up today and breakout out of a cup & handle pattern. Volume is a bit light, but I can manage that with a stop just below today's intraday low of 267.00. If the falls below that level, then the breakout fails and doesn't work. Basis: 271.20 Stop area: 266.95. This is just a 1.7% risk, but it's based on sound technicals. We assume that the breakout will follow through. We don't need to wait for a big pullback before concluding that the trade doesn't work. Always tailor your risk to the underlying rationale for the trade. --Dan

- StockMarketMentor: Keep an eye on DoorDash ($DASH). After a big pop on 8/7 and a sharp reversal, the stock is down to the 50-day moving average. Last Wednesday, the stock really tanked, but quickly rebounded to recapture the 50-day. Looks to me like last Wednesday was a real shakeout day and the stock is clear to move higher. This is one to watch. Volume is very low today, so I don't see much to do other than watch it. Just sayin' --Dan

If you look at the monthly price chart, it has been in a very large and deep cup and handle since its IPO and recently broke out above that.

- kenb: $DASH DoorDash, Inc. announced today that it has changed the date and time of the release of its first quarter 2025 financial results and related earnings conference call. The company will now report its earnings for the first quarter 2025 on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, prior to market open, and host a conference call at 5 a.m. PT / 8 a.m. ET the same day. The company previously planned to release its financial results after the U.S. financial markets closed on Wednesday, May 7, 2025 , with a conference call to follow at 2 p.m. PT / 5 p.m. ET the same day. I'm not sure if this is good or bad, and holding position through earnings since I have a nice cushion. We shall see.

If you're looking at this, my suggested stop would be just below today's intraday low. Basis: 49.50 Suggested Stop: 46.50 $DAVE is also rebounding this morning. If you're considering this one, you can either keep it tight, with a stop around $99. Or, you can use yesterday's low as a reference for a stop, at around 91.90. Basis: 105.75 Stop: $99 and/or 91.90 $DASH-- rebounding off $190. Basis 199.23 Suggested stop area: $189ish. Note that all of these have some significant overhead resistance. As such, you want to be looking for more modest gains if they work. Be biased towards closing the positions at the first sign of weakness. --Dan
