  • debeers: $CPRI- just in case you are staying in it for the earnings Wednesday---i am--for the last 12 quarters they missed once and not once in the last 8. Even when they don't have a blowout, they do better than expected 11 out of 12 quarters. They are 91% insti owned and have a 7% short interest. i think the Versace line will pull them out and expecially the menswear they have is lovely and watches (as you no doubt(who am i kidding??) observed in the Movado report) have been blowing the doors off. In any event,i think they make their numbers so we'll see.

Even if inflation unfortunately hurts the average consumer, $CPRI caters to the wealthy who will always have money in their pocket to spend. with covid (hopefully) continuing to wind down, folks are going to want to look good going out and about. i'm happy in my Costco shorts and golf shirts, but I don't mind profiting off this one. i think a run back to the old recent high of $70 would seem doable in the near term.

Could they go lower--yup but geez! $ROST my favorite domestic discount retailer because it is all here and has NO SHIPPING PROBLEMS whatsoever as it just buys inventory from others and the stuff is already here. $ACI is all domestic and maybe doesn't have much more upside but the remodels on the stores is impressive and a true recession still won't dent them much. Overall playing D as opposed to owning D. If @Woodman is right and chemical weapons are being used, it won't matter much anyway because we'll be a lot closer to the end than the beginning for all of us IMO.

Projects in line estimates and rising costs, slight declining gross margins. They project non-GAAP earnings of ~$2.06 for 2022; their reported non-GAAP earnings for 2021 are $2.05. InMode only reaps 10% from repeat sales, they sell machines, they do not have a Gillette razor and blades model. Sales from consumables, repeat business they say has "risen dramatically" to 11% of sales. In 2020 it was 10%.

Above that there's decent room to move higher. If if fails here and pulls back to test, there could be a significant pullback given support lines. Chart attached.

From the Call: Luxe brands, especially Versace have luxe margins. Nevertheless, wait. I am listening to the conference call now. The watch biz is also growing just not at the rate it was. ok in that it is returning to some growth. Vietnam has reopened for manufacturing but will be slower than it could have been were it not for the previous supply constraints. Versace will produce 50% of the business and signature will be less than prior so that Versace can get the concentration. Leather goods have 2 pillars with la greca and medusa Wait a bit.
