- SierraJW: @dave11 $ASTY/$BTX/WS trade - The price of ASTY is still under my entry price, but the value of the $BTX/WS warrants far offsets that drop. The result was a 28% gain on the combination position today on my original investment. I will check out the longer term prospects of both this week-end, and post what I find.

- SierraJW: @dave11 $ASTY (close 7.32)I took a look at why the sudden increase in stock price and Volume. I think it has to do with the issuance of warrants to buy $8MM of $BTX (currently 3.27/shr) for $5.00/share, expiry 10/01/2018. 1 share $ASTY gives ~1.223657 shares of warrant for BTX (no fractional shares will be issued). Owners of record date is Monday, 9/15/14, but you have to settle by that date, so purchase by Thurs, 9/11 (no later, 9/10 is safer) to qualify for the warrants. P.S. Schwab corporate actions does not have official notice from the company yet... - dave11: @SierraJW thanks for this info, I had read this but was not so sure what it all meant. So it looks like the trade in $GERN awhile back which has resulted a profit on the sale of $GERN, plus the $ASTY shares plus the $BTX warrants. I think I will just hold my small position in $ASTY to see how it does and hold the warrants as an education in warrants.
