It was also quite surprising how many of the best performing stocks were mentioned at some time or another right here in this Forum or that @Dan mentioned early in their advance in his videos. Stocks like FEED, $SPAR, $GROW, $BOLT, TRU, $NVDA, $DWS ... - Russ: By the way, $MSF is the @Morgan Stanley Emerging Market Fund, trading in the thousands of shares. By comparison, $EEM is the big ishares EM etf, trading 100 million shares. A few other charts that look potentially constructive (no recommendations, folks) include $CSL, $TLM, $BOLT, $NUVA, $WU, $WG, and TX. Also, I think it was @Ian who noted last week that $MELI is back on the radar again.

It's actually funny that you ask about this because I spent a lot of last week looking into some of the companies. Industrials/Infrastructure looks broken, Tech was mostly on the fritz, Drugs were sickly, Retail was being ignored, and the #Financia ... - Sizzle: @Lou - I'm hanging in there. I see no reason not to. For perspective, I have bought some $NRF, $BOLT, $NM, $MOS, $SPAR and SDTH but combined, they are only 4% of my portfolios. And I've mitigated risk on my $MOS purchase by writing covered calls to cover the entire position. So I'm taking positions, based on fundamentals, but keeping my positions small.

Growth Stocks: 1. $ATW Atwood Oceanics Inc. 2. $KWK Quicksilver Resources Inc. 3. $ITRN Ituran Location & Control Ltd. 4. $NM Navios Maritime Holdings Inc. 5. $CTCM CTC Media, Inc 6. $PRXI Premier Exhibitions Inc. 7. $VIP Vimpel-Communication ... - Sizzle: Also see cup w/ handles on $PFE, $XLV and BW. SDTH and $BOLT show tighter and tighter consolidation which should lead to big moves coming up. There are also several charts that could be construed as sloppy cup w/ handles ( $PHO, ENER ) or not quite completed chart formations (TIE). Seeing all of these formations just waiting to pop out, after just looking at a few stocks, I think that something big is going to happen in the not too distant future (i.e., 1 - 4 weeks). Anyone else getting a similar vibe?

(Suzie just mentioned her quick trade.) $CAT (which many of us are watching) is showing some interest, and so is PCR. Both have head room if they move beyond their channels. And $BOLT is a small cap (thinly traded) seismic tech exploration company for the oil and gas industry. It's Boll Bands are tightening up. (But who knows what will happen with energy short term?) - Russ: Today might be a good day to scan watch lists for strong stocks. The green should be easy to spot. As @Dan has pointed out before, when a stock can hold its own against a close like today, it might be worth picking up after the dust settles and a good entry presents itself. I haven't yet examined the charts, but some like $NOV, $VIP, $NRP, and (of course) PCX appear to stand out. Anyway, this seems like a strategy with potential, but I'd sure welcome being corrected or cautioned about it, given Evan and @Dan's earlier posts. By the way, $BOLT made a pretty big move this afternoon and didn't fade. And $FTK held up pretty well. Russ
- evanesce: Hi Jan, there are quite a few energy names up today. From my watch list, I see $BOLT CLR $CNQ ENB EP HP HTE NOV $NRP PCZ $PDS PGH PVX SU TRP. Much of the rise is because of ForEx (CAD up about +1% as I type) but subtract that and there is still strength in the group.
