Ave price target on street is 94 per the article . ( STOCK STORY - I belong to their site ) next earnings report big and also guidance . They have an increase in backlog but actual homes built last report went down. Indicates they can’t find the help to produce or something else contributed.

- phgruver: @Henry $HD Traditionally, companies like $BLD, $LOW and $HD do well in a sluggish economy. Their primary customer is doing repair or renovation, not new construction. All three look to be bouncing along their lows, though, so I wouldn't be in a hurry to pile in....

When the larger players and institutions start taking their profits off, then we will know what is going on, for sure but they ... - phgruver: Good morning, y'all. Clear an cold, in the southeast. Wind out of the north, and 12f. I hope I piled enough leaves over my spring bulbs.... My worst performers, yesterday were my utilities $XLU and $LOW. I'm sure $XLU had to do with declining interest rates. I don't know what $LOW was all about. I know it went ex-div, but that's only $1.14, well short of the $6.35 (2.4%) it lost.

- bigbartabs: @champ $LOW $HD #Stock-picker ... $LPX Louisiana Pacific is likely to be a big beneficiary of the LA rebuild. No matter what rebuild plans go into effect... lots of lumber is involved. My brother in law owns and runs a big logging operation in Northern CA, where I also grew up logging and sawmilling. LP and Red Emmerson's Sierra Pacific (private company) are monster players in the west.

Just got power on Monday am but many in my town still down . Publix shelves were barren . Has to be same all over . Parts of NC are fked for a long long time . Entire towns gone. Roads gone . Let’s send not money to Ukraine and everything will be better

We lost power here at 9:31 am friday morning just after the market open and soon thereafter our internet service. Thankfully we were spared most of the massive flooding so many others in nearby North Carolina and Tennessee have suffered but we did get a lot of wind and hundreds of downed trees. Our internet was restored within 24 hours and they say we should be getting power back by midnight tomorrow. So thankful that my family is safe knowing that so many others have lost everything. Prayers for everyone affected by this storm.

- phgruver: @bigbartabs $GNRC ...Well, a $GNRC generator is the ultimate prep. for hurricanes or other natural disasters.... Unfortunately, it takes more than 1 or 2 days to get one delivered and installed, but there's nothing like an impending storm to get people thinking about their vulnerability to outages. I would expect that $HD and $LOW would be more direct beneficiaries of the effects of a storm.

- bigbartabs: @phgruver $GNRC $HD $LOW ... in our neck of the woods here in the Sierra Nevada foothills... our problem is wildfire... where our utility company Pacific Gas and Electric can and will shut power off at a moment's notice if high winds break out. I have a couple portable generators (Pulsar and Predator) that put out enough to keep our house powered when that happens. Just the way of life these days living in CA.

- phgruver: Good morning, y'all. I'm looking at $LOW this morning. Yesterday it printed a bullish engulfing candle on higher volume. That would be more interesting if it weren't for earnings coming up on Aug. 20 (before the bell). $HD also had a pretty good day, although it didn't engulf the whole candle. Maybe a buck or two can be made here....
- phgruver: One of my biggest gainers, today, is $LOW, up over $7 (3.16%). This got me to looking at $HD, which is up a similar amount, and $XLB (materials) and $XHB (home builders). I think we are beginning to price in interest rate cuts in the near future.....
- phgruver: @PhilHarmonic @Henry $WBA The neighborhood drug store has been preempted by $WMT and $TGT by offering longer hours, better product selection and lower prices. They are going the way of the neighborhood hardware store (driven under by $HD and $LOW). I still get my drugs from $CVS, but they are located inside my local Target, not a free standing store.

- phgruver: $LOW got an upgrade from JP Morgan from neutral to overweight. The also raided their price target from $210 to $265. $LOW actually has a very constructive chart. It is rebounding off the 50DMA and the 200DMA (which just crossed) and also coming out of a moderate volatility squeeze. I guess this cancels out the Oppenheimer downgrade of a few days ago.....

- phgruver: $LOW and $HD got a downgrade from Oppenheimer yesterday. Both are down significantly, this morning. Interestingly, $HD, at $352 is still above the lowered target of $345, but $LOW, at $216 is well below the target of $230. I am long $LOW from way below ($55) so I'm not particularly concerned.

- phgruver: ...And this morning $LOW reported a decent beat, but lowered expectations, so the stock has sold off over 5% in the pre-market. The yield here is only a bit over 2%, but it has been an excellent long term hold for me. This may be an opportunity to add to an existing position.

- Lou: As I've previously posted, my investment anchor to windward is the portion of my portfolio that is managed by a group affiliated with Morgan Stanley. They provide the diversification for my investments, and I do the concentration and options. An added benefit is that I am able to peruse their trades for buy/sell ideas. I've gotten some of my best trades/investments by researching their recent trades. Today I spotted several buys from earlier this week. They added $FTI at 15.86: $TJX at 84.44; $LOW at 222.48 and $SNOW at $176.94. Also, several multi letter foreign exchange symbols twith which I'm not familiar, therefore uninterested. Nothing compelling to jump on but watching.

...on $LOW they just added $15-billion in new Share-Buy-Backs....so I'm guessing that the recent low at around $200 is in, plus this Retail sector should continue to per ... - champ: The markets are testing a turn.....and $LOW turned already and is now dancing around.
