- bRobert: @tjv821 $wldn I get nauseous looking at the daily swings. Wide trading range. Nice weekly chart run until now. Obvious head and shoulder top. Obvious support around $28. Hit many times . Renaissance tech holder has made a lot of $$$ holding this stock. 250% run in 18 months. Needed rest. Most of the easy money has been made. It's a low risk trade/entry with stop 27.90 .(starter size) if that's your game. Add when proven. Drop below that could touch $22.
- tjv821: @bRobert $wldn sound advice tks
- audrina0904: $wldn looks pretty good again after today’s action.
- tjv821: $wldn still struggling
- PhilHarmonic: $WLDN Bouncing off the 200dma. An opportunity for a starter position. This is a holding stock. Been in a consolidation rectangle since January 2017.
- issues: @PhilHarmonic $WLDN In an up market you would be right. But now it looks like this stock is broken.Sold yesterday at even. As the good Irishman Fitz says Wait for the green DAY!
- audrina0904: $WLDN flash crash sale is happening today, seems to happen once every 2-3 months, here it is... enjoy!
- DAN: @audrina0904 $WLDN Hmmm. No news.
- Junior1: @audrina0904 @DAN $WLDN And no options on it. would love to sell premium
- audrina0904: @DAN $WLDN Ho Hum - The only thing that this could be outside of just the regular sell offs that this thinly traded stock faces, is that California and NY contracts are being considered this month. If $WLDN misses getting a chunk of those, its not good.
- DAN: @audrina0904 $WLDN Ah. Gotcha. Thin is great when it comes to body fat. But not when it comes to stock trading.
- DAN: @Junior1 $WLDN Yeah, but as illiquid as the stock is, those option spreads would be a mile wide. 8-)
- issues: @audrina0904 $WLDN Sold out.
- audrina0904: $wldn continuing its breakout, heavy volume again today. Chasing if you're not in
- DAN: $WLDN -- close to breaking out. Worth watching. Great fundies.
- Bridget: $WLDN now above $35
- StockMarketMentor: A Price Alert has been triggered for $WLDN Willdan Group Inc.. Click here to view associated video clip: http://stockmarketmentor.com/stockanalysis.html?ticker=WLDN&clip=86141
- CHOFF: @Bridget $WLDN - Historically it drops $5-6 each time it has one of these peaks and then sets up for a good buy.
- audrina0904: $WLDN huge fan of today's price action in $WLDN. I added this morning.
- audrina0904: $WLDN - Once again has reported a pretty standout qtr...In addition to the acquisition of a cloud software company servicing the utilities sector that will add .12/share to FY'18 earnings... This company is notorious for being conservative in estimates... .36/share vs. .35 est 2Q rev of 71.8M which, for what its worth is about $2m higher than I had expected. This is a company that is firing on all cylinders...
- audrina0904: @audrina0904 $WLDN Going further into the report, $WLDN has increased guidance over last qtr from 240-250M to 250-260M in revenue. EPS estimate remains the same at 1.08-1.21/share
- issues: When I looked over my holding this weekend I wrote to myself to sell the following: (e= earnings) $PANW (break down) $AA (topping?) $ABBV (IBD accum A to D+) $MTDR (e 8/2) $SPR (e 8/2) $ETSY (e 8/3) $MTSI (e 8/1) $WLDN (e 8/8) But my problem is I just can't pull the trigger to sell any of them. I put in stops and even bought more AA & ABBV. Now you see why I'm a member of SMM Anonymous. I really appreciate the input I get from you all! It's helps me stay in when I should be out, right?
- phgruver: @issues $PANW $AA $ABBV $MTDR $SPR $ETSY $MTSI $WLDN I can sympathize. I have a number of issues that I've held for years, that I can't seem to part with. (FWIW, you should have ditched the first 3 days ago, but the others still show some promise....)
- audrina0904: $wldn looks saucy! So much so that at these levels we usually get nasty sell offs. Let's hope this time it's different!
- rbrown2222: @audrina0904 $wldn That tends to happen when a stock that trades 80K a day makes a strong move up. Only takes a few profit takers to drive the price down. ADV is something to look at.
- DAN: @rbrown2222 $wldn IT's sure been a choppy stock... As you noted...when a stock is that thinly traded, it's going to jump around a LOT.
- audrina0904: $WLDN - moving higher - I've been building a large position in this for over two months as it moves sideways...starting to move higher.
- audrina0904: $WLDN - My favorite long termer has crossed above the 50 dma, hopefully it holds...
- audrina0904: $WLDN strong today and good volume for this stock...Trying to take out the 50dma again.
- genki: @gbwusc $WLDN $EXEL $IWM That was from TOS.
- audrina0904: @DAN Let me ask you this...At the end of the day, some of the smaller stocks I follow received a huge amount of volume as a result. Check out $WLDN, more volume than I've ever seen since I owned it...Anything at all to glean from this? Or shrug it off as a one time event?
- DAN: @audrina0904 $WLDN I believe that's because of the Russell rebalancing. Happens once/year...and volume on the effected stocks always pops a LOT.
- audrina0904: $WLDN You guys probably get sick of me preaching this stock, but again very nice price action on good volume today. It's building a nice sideways base and I have been adding all over the place over the last 10 trading days after the gap down... Long term story is very strong here.
- genki: @audrina0904 $WLDN Yes, I was so sick and tired of it that I started a position last Friday:-)
- audrina0904: @genki $WLDN WOOHOO! Good job @genki!
- gbwusc: @genki $WLDN $EXEL Can you tell me where you are getting your information? I use TC2000 and it is showing that the last minute of trading in $EXEL was 1.2M shares and $WLDN traded 92.1k shares in the last ten minutes. I am simply trying to see if I am having incorrect data. To try and help with the original question, the Russell 2000/$IWM had a rebalancing, and that will cause a huge spike in volume. I know $EXEL is in the IWM, but not sure about $WLDN.
- audrina0904: $WLDN - More volume in one trade in the last few minutes than the last two days, nearly combined. The stock rose by about .45 in that time...Would have thought that kind of volume would push a thinly traded stock like this, considerably higher, not .45.
- genki: @audrina0904 $WLDN Many other stocks were doing the same thing, e.g., EXEL had 8.4m shares in the last minute (comparing to avg daily vol of 3.75m). I am very interested in learning why.
- tjv821: $wldn anyone else in this ?thinking about kicking it to the curb for a small loss
- audrina0904: $wldn being added to Russell indexes, may help a little with their stock liquidity?
- audrina0904: $WLDN - If you like the story long term, and you know I do...This stock has completely shaken out some sellers in the last two days...I have added, if you want in, now seems good...Its now green for the day on heavy volume.
- Bridget: @audrina0904 $WLDN I want to see it regain the 50dma first.
- audrina0904: @Bridget $WLDN I can understand that...watching it daily like I do, its not scary to me rhrn just due to the way it trades...
- audrina0904: $WLDN taking it on the chin a little today, it had made really good progress until Friday...
- issues: Today we bought $TMUS (bounced off 50 d)$NVDA $VEEV and stopped out partials or whole on $WLDN $WB $MXL $IPHI $ENDP
- audrina0904: @issues $wldn the way Willdan trades is troublesome...not in a way where I am worried, but in a way where I think it is easily manipulated in big swings 1 time a month...I expect this time will be no different than the last two and it will slowly inch its way back up...I have added to my position today.
- audrina0904: $WLDN Dont forget our slow moving friend that continues to push higher...it is pushing up through the top bollinger band right now.
- audrina0904: $WLDN another robust start for WLDN, lets see if it can build on this kind of thing this time...
- audrina0904: Really nice early action in $WLDN this morning...I expect them to announce an acquisition fairly soon here...
- audrina0904: $WLDN Our favorite thinly traded stock is getting a decent bid right now...up to 32.95...
- audrina0904: @MTZ has pulled back to the 50DMA, may be a low risk entry...if it goes below yesterday's low, you dont want to own it...Really good long term growth stock. Same type of company as $WLDN but servicing slightly different industry.
- audrina0904: $WLDN starting to creep up, Wedbush increased a price target to $40 today.
- audrina0904: @justinp $RICK Wow, I though $WLDN was thinly traded! Yikes!
- tjv821: $wldn still weak??
- audrina0904: @tjv821 $wldn Very strange that it would sell off quite this hard...they had a GREAT qtr and forecast going forward. I hold it for the long term, this isn't shaking me out.
- audrina0904: @tjv821 $wldn BTW This has come back down to touch the 50DMA, probably a decent entry if youve not been in.
- audrina0904: $WLDN Off to the races...wish my entry prior was a little better, but this is a long term hold.
- Bridget: $WLDN is seeing a nice bounce off the 50DMA after earnings
- audrina0904: $MTZ Had a really nice earnings pop. The Engineering services field is really hot including $WLDN & $AGX. All look good, chart wise, you are late to the MTZ party, but $WLDN & $AGX look like decent places...
- audrina0904: $WLDN For any of you long term Willdan fans, they report after market close today, will be one to watch...No options here, lots of demand for their services right now. I would anticipate good numbers around .15/share (est is .12) with a revenue revision up. If not I didn't do good enough homework. :)
- audrina0904: $WLDN reports .30/share earnings vs est of .12 An increase of 145% YOY REV $68.4M I had posted earlier today that estimates at .15/share would be darn good.
- audrina0904: @audrina0904 $WLDN Had guided Revenue to be 44.5M prior, this is a huge beat...
- audrina0904: @audrina0904 $WLDN Is forecasting an effective tax rate of 42% for the rest of FY17 (3qtrs). A tax cut of any kind would certainly help this company tremendously!
- audrina0904: @DAN - I'm wondering if you can comment on $WLDN after the huge dump it took earlier this week on the failed breakout...Has the thesis changed at all?
- DAN: @audrina0904 $WLDN Thesis really hasn't changed for me. BUT...if you don't own it, I wouldn't suggest buying it. I think the stock has a lot of work to do after that high volume dump. I own it, but am not buying more. And I will very likely sell ...
- DAN: @genki $PRAH Yeah. it looks a lot like $WLDN did a few days ago. Rebounding off the 50-day moving average. But honestly, since this is in my retirement account and I like the business model and their growth prospects, I won't get shaken out of this. The weekly trend still looks good. So, because I have a longer term view of the stock, I'm not bothered by it...though I would certainly rather it have blown through to $70 rather than down to $62. 8-\
- genki: @DAN $PRAH $WLDN Thanks Dan.
- Wolf: $WLDN I am just glad it jumped off the cliff during trading hours...
- audrina0904: @Wolf $WLDN I did a lot of homework on $WLDN last night and I am solidified in my long term position in the company. For the love of all things, the projected FY17 revenues are higher than the current market cap of the company and they are growing. Not only do I like the stock, it actually appears really cheap to me.
- Wolf: @audrina0904 $WLDN Thanks, I will take a look at it for a long term hold. My position was just a trade and the chart told me to get out. As @Henry posted, I wish it had an option chain to help with an entry.
- audrina0904: @Wolf $WLDN me too!
- Wolf: @audrina0904 $WLDN I took a close look at it and it looks like a great company. I don't see any reason for what happened yesterday except possibly it was reacting to companies with similar business models like IBM, ACN, HPE, CSRA, CIGI, WIT.
- geotheo: @danyhage44 $WLDN Inquiring minds want to know willDan provide insights to WillDan. NP
- audrina0904: @debeers $WLDN made comments in their last earnings report that they will be at the 40% mark this qtr...at 15% it was going to add something like .30-.40/share to earnings over FY17. Thats huge. Wonder what $AAPL will do with the money that they may or may not repatriate.
- audrina0904: $WLDN is a long term hold for me but the price action is pretty rough today after a great day yesterday, bearish engulfing pattern in early trading.
- tjv821: $wldn everyone selling.
- Henry: @tjv821 $wldn Nothing on stocktwits or twitter except it's going to $50
- PhilHarmonic: @tjv821 $wldn The uptrend is still intact. Dan has always said that this was a risky stock because of the small float. I'm holding until it breaks support at the 50 dma.
- audrina0904: @tjv821 $wldn Yes, I dont think there is anything really terribly wrong here, its just back to the tight range again...This is a long term hold, i dont think its much of a trade due to float.
- danyhage44: @audrina0904 $WLDN Does anyone think this is a good entry point?
- Wolf: @danyhage44 $WLDN I have a .50 trailing stop to add, with a hard stop just below the 50DMA. Small position.
- danyhage44: @Wolf $WLDN Thanks
- Wolf: @danyhage44 $WLDN Remember, this is a very thinly traded stock, so it doesn't take much to move it.
- spmeyers: @tjv821 $wldn one of those nasty fake-outs yesterday, eh? hate that
- spmeyers: @PhilHarmonic $wldn you may be right; I had a tighter stop so am out, but will watch it
- vblegacy: @PhilHarmonic $wldn Thanks for mentioning the small float. I am also using the 50 dma as a sell stop.
- tjv821: $wldn @dan any thoughts?? Still getting crushed
- Aragorn: @issues $WLDN $AAOI below the 50 now fyi not an outside bar the high is lower than yesterday's high so not bearish engulfing but it is as crappy a candle as one could want. You should probably be out especially if it closes below the 50 . I can see it at 28 area the 100ema anyway no position no skin in the game I see it differently but it looks broken but not huge volume even if 50% more than normal
- Bilbo: @issues $WLDN Went through the 50ma and my stop on volume. Watching
- issues: @Aragorn $WLDN $AAOI Thank you Aragorn. I value your expertise in charting. You are one of the few who have been posting for almost as long as me. I remember the old guys like Green Ghost and Trish... Glad you are still here. Hang in there!
- audrina0904: @issues $WLDN $AAOI $ILMN Im actually in $WLDN for a long haul, but today has been pretty disturbing. No explanation of stuff like this, no news, big day yesterday, and then bam, at this point I wouldn't be surprise to see it rebound hard tomorrow...Who knows...great company, great forecast, very strange action.
- issues: $WLDN dropped in what's close to a bear engulfing pattern. But not a true bear engulfing as Aragorn says, since the top was lower today than yesterday. Still it's not good. Almost got my stop hit. Dropping the partial stop to $28.65. Anyone one else care to mention where their stop is? Earnings May 4th. I'm trying to hold on til them. This reminds me of $AAOI. Did a similar move, down hard then the bounce after I got left at the station without any shares. Didn't buy it back since that's a "wash sale" penalty with severe consequences! This pattern looks like a day or two more of selling. Could bring it down to $28.85! So last remainder of $ILMN for a real healthy profit. Thank you forum member who suggested buying at the bottom. I owe you.
- audrina0904: @DAN - This is probably a strange comparison, or maybe its not? Take a look at $WLDN today...This is in a long term holding for me and a 14% DOWN day is pretty tough to swallow...I'm in the red now, should I be out even though my thesis is long term? IF this was $MOMO in your long term portfolio and it had a day like this (no news, future is bright, 1 bazillion users) would it be enough to shake you out, or are you ok with this to a certain extent because its a long term holding?
- tjv821: @Aragorn $WLDN $AAOI ty for all the help today I really appreciate it
- Wolf: $WLDN Stopped out @30.25 No more.
- Aragorn: @tjv821 $WLDN $AAOI YW and re:HIMX most definitely broken not even day trading it short why I don't know LOL
- tjv821: $wldn me new $crhm :(
- audrina0904: $WLDN LOL, feels like the world has cheated me today. Tomorrow they will probably be bought out at $45/share...
- JBed: @audrina0904 $WLDN $MOMO I do have this and a stop a little above break-even in my trading account. In my I held AAOI through a 22% downturn in more than a week. Now I'm "only" down 10%. Stocks do recover. Look at other opinions.
