- bybyjanice: STKL@dagdog: Definitely, it's just one to keep on your radar. They don't report again until DEC 16th. Another one I am watching is XYL. It reports on OCT 29th as does MWA. Both are water plays, although $MWA is tied to housing as well. $XYL is ITT's old water division that was spun off a few years ago. $WAT just missed and is now down at the 200dma...so that might be an indication as to what's to come.

I eliminated takeovers, my prejudices, low BOP - $MS & OBV, and got a list of 26 names that I'll be watching this week for possible entries. ASDEAN: Nice work @Lou. I have just finished up my master watchlist for next week as well. Interesting I also ended up with 56 names. We ended up with 7 in common (ITW, $WAT,UPS,$IBM,CAG,$TJX & XLK).
Here are some that I alos have ADBE(bbs), $AN (zag), $ ... - TomH: @Dan and @tpro thanks for the great checklist. It couldn't have come at a better time as I've resolved (coincidentally with the new year) to keep a trading journal not just of trades but also thoughts. Looking through some charts $SNDK breaking above the big gap down it made in october but doesn't seem to be great volume. Also keeping an eye on $WAT looks like it made a capitulation low Dec 12 and has churned out a bit of a base since then. Starting to perk up but still has the 50day above to contend with.
- evanesce: IHI: this $ETF is relatively new, started in the summer of 2006. It covers the highly specialized subsector of medical devices. Comparing its chart to that of the health sector $XLV, although the general pattern is similar I see that $IHI is technically much stronger because it never really traded below the major averages - more like it traded around them. The top 10 holdings are $BSX COV $ISRG MDT $STJ SYK $TMO VAR $WAT ZMH. If you like to find strong charts in a strong subsector of a strong sector, these might be a good starting point for weekend research.
- Dan: Team, some of the stocks I am putting on the #Squeeze Play list are $WAT, $COST, $CMS, $MO, $DGX, $PEP, $AGN, and JNY. These are either high short interest trades...or tight volatility trades. Still working on that list, but thought I'd put these out there for you to check out if you have time.
- nfbandon: Folks, We closed strong for a change! Hope everyone has a nice weekend. @Dan, could you look at $WAT and $GILD again. I think they are preforming very well. Also, I scaled into some Jan $630 calls on GOOG. You had indicated $625 was support. Well it broke that intraday, but came back. I am up nicely on those calls, but am inclined to hold. Do you only look at closing levels or is the move down to $616 intraday a concern?
- nfbandon: Interested in comments to following: Short $GLD Long entries $SIGM, $WAT, $GILD, $BIIB, $KSU Futures are interesting this morning in that commodities are down, $DOW and $SPY are down. $NAZ is down, but down less than others. Could things be shaping up for an early 90s scenerio where tech outperforms? The $NAZ has been hit hard in this selloff, but really what has happened is that there were a few momo stocks took the average up above sustainable levels and those stocks are now correcting. Not that much has happened to the nonmomo big cap tech-MSFT, $INTC, $HPQ, etc... Thoughts?
