- stairm01: $PIRS Bullish engulfing candle today on volume. Stock has picked up some volume as of 7/29 and presently climbing the upper BB for the last 2 weeks. I saw it pull back yesterday and told myself, "Self, watch for a green move in the morning. " I did watch today, and watched, and watched, and watched. And finally at $5.80 I had enough. Why do stocks to this to us humans?

- stairm01: $PIRS Dan's Bases and Entries tutorial helped me look at charts a little different, as does many things Dan points out. Looking at $PIRS since mid April, it consolidated in a slight upward trend, then ran 20% on volume. Consolidated and pulled back,, then ran up 20% on volume. Now consolidating again.
- stairm01: $PIRS and $DAN Both showing signs of moving higher off of a bottom pattern. Just crossed the 50 dma and have higher than normal volume for multiple days. Institutional buying? I'm long stock both.

- stairm01: $PIRS Could be starting phase 3 of a VS. Was not a Dan VS, but this stock looks to be moving off the bottom.
- stairm01: $PIRS Started a position today. Looks like buying with volume into the close and on a 3 month chart it is going to move and close above the 20 dma which it hasn't done for a while. Key will be for it to move on higher above the 20. Close/tight stop.

- Reif99: @barbjim12 $PIRS Doesn't take much money (relatively speaking) to move that stock - it's pretty thinly traded (again, relatively speaking). Doesn't have to have any news to have a little move like that. If you bought here you'd definitely be buying against the trend. I'd have to ask myself why I thought today was different than June 1st, 6th, 8th, or 18th.

- stairm01: @barbjim12 $PIRS My thoughts, hope you got a starter position down here versus when I bought my first around Feb. 15 at $9:00. I added along the way getting faked out many times thinking the stock was finally going to move higher. I finally dumbed my only big loser last week at $5.21. Should've done it along time ago, but ignored all of those signals. It's amazing the relief you get when you finally get rid of a stock that you broke all rules on. Hope it all works out for you, but I moved on.

Others are trading size....institutions...like $GS and other paid traders....machines are trading large size and harvesting profits on small moves. There is another world out there...and they are trying to take your $$$...be aware because that is whats going on. The big players... are paid profession traders....and it is happening RHRN....they suck you in and then they sell.
- stairm01: $PIRS Finding some footing this morning after a 14 day slide. There use to be someone in the forum that would watch these kind of slides and start buying after 10-12 down days counting on a rebound. I don't remember who it was.

- woodman: @meched54 $PIRS - I haven't seen anything about the company's statements (in conjunction with earnings and progress updates today) that would reasonably cause this drop. For now, bouncing off old double top resistance (10/5 and 11/27) - i.e. new support. Not very heartening, but that's all I got.
- justinp: $PIRS I'm in this for a longer-term hold so just watching but looks like a nicely defined risk if it bounces off the 50 sma.

- DAN: @mgoodw $PIRS $ONCE I closed PIRS just this morning b/c it was obviously going into Phase 2, and I didn't have so much profit in it that I was willing to just sit back and let it fall. I'll watch it...but I think it's got to rest for a while now. ONCE -- Not my trade. It's rallied quite a bit since the December selloff. Not for me -- it's got a lot of supply overhead. Just my opinion, but I think it's going to have trouble here. I've learned that I make more money buying uptrending stocks that are coming out of sound bases than I do buying these oversold snapbacks.

But I always err on the side of protecting quick profits. I'm looking for the stock to continue higher (discussed this last night)...but I'll wait for it to find some support before re-initiating a position. --Dan

Even though I don't manage money professionally, I do hold myself to annual performance goals, and am in protection mode this week.
