- McNair: @Henry $ORGO Just my 2 cents. Though I do love the term, I don't know that this falls into the wallet biopsy category. Most of their products are covered by Medicare, Medicaid and commercial insurance carriers. There are also coverage modifiers for application of the product and for 'wastage'(more reimbursement for hospital use, less for outpatient use). It seems that some of the products have moderate to high quality RCT's associated with them that do define significant benefit over placebo but there are no direct high-quality head-to-head studies with competitors that I can find. Some products have associated retrospective studies which are useful but nowhere near as robust as prospective RCT's. There is no doubt that these are expensive products though. Again, just my 2 cents on researching them this AM. Thank you for bringing this one up. I will definitely ask some colleagues this AM. Regards.

- Henry: $ORGO A caller asked Cramer and he didn't know. It sounded familiar but I don't know why. Wound healing and sports medicine. I asked my orthopedic surgeon and he said: "Lots of hype. No great studies proving efficacy. Many are using off label, cash only. Wallet biopsy" Wallet biopsy is a well recognized medical term for a useless procedure. It's a great looking chart, though.
