  • bRobert: $OCUL. HIGH. volume. breakout. Low. vol pb. retest $24+. potential.
  • joelsg1: @bRobert $OCUL The eyes have it, picture perfect bo.
  • FABrown: $OCUL - nice pop after hours on positive test results on medication study
  • CraigReynolds: $OCUL My stop was hit this morning for a nice 95% gain from a stock held since early Nov. Had a tight weekly stop. Probably could go higher but a good start to a Monday morning feel.
  • CraigReynolds: $OCUL Added and moving
  • romanalexk: @DAN $PDD $SPX $DJI $DJT $NDX $VIX $VVXY $AMZN $LULU $TWTR $FTCH $NLY $JD $BIDU $NOW $TSM $OCUL $PLUG $ENPH $VSTO $ABR $SNOW $RLGY Earnings $BIDU on 11/12 according to TOS. If it starts moving, we may buy some. :)
  • Herb: $OCUL rev shark stock of the week.
  • DAN: $SPY -- Note that the $SPY is 2 standard deviations below the 50-day moving average. That's a rare event other than during severe sell offs like we had in March. So I think we should expect some chopping around here. While it's a possibility, I do ...
  • jschibal: @DAN $SPY $FTCH $NLY $JD $BIDU $NOW $TSM $OCUL $PLUG $ENPH $VSTO $ABR - I anticipate (if I had to guess) that we will see some stability after the results are finalized regardless of who wins the White House or controls the Senate. I think much of the instability is coming from the not knowing or worst case scenario of a contested election resulting in riots and a supreme court deciding the outcome.
  • DAN: ...
$OCUL -- Nice move off support, but it’s gone up to start a position. But definitely one to watch.
$PLUG -- Look for a breakout before entry. Stop at $13.65. Alert $13.70 AND $15.40
$ENPH -- A little high and not a complete base. But one to ...
  • thehook1: $AMED, $OCUL, $OOMA resurrecting
  • JBed: $OCUL check this out - it's RevShark's stock pick this week. I didn't see it until it was already up 14%.
  • Michael_L: @JBed $OCUL there's been a ton of insider buying.
  • ikkyu000: @JBed $OCUL Wow, RevShark's still around? I used to follow him like 15 years ago! He was a big advocate of actively managed buy-and-hold that I just recommend a few minutes ago in a reply. He hated Motley Fool and their buy-it-and-forget-it.
  • sierramp: @jlb722 The only thing that interests me in $OCUL is the 50 crossing the 200. #1, it's Biotech, #2, it reports after hours today. Too much risk right now for me.
  • coldevinc: @jlb722 $OCUL Have small position. Have been in and out twice this year. Made money both times. I am going to hold.
  • coldevinc: Weird day so far. Strange stocks going up and not the ones I thought going down that much. Watching. On top of that, a stock I have a small position in $OCUL reports earnings tomorrow........................
  • spmeyers: $OCUL Trend Change play -- broke thru 200-day on volume, tested 200-day, now moving higher (see 1-year chart); watching to see how it trades this afternoon before entering
  • coldevinc: $OCUL popped above 5.50 this am. Adjusted my stops. Long
  • DAN: $OCUL -- Bulls are back again. If you're trading this low dollar stock, I suggest a smaller number of shares with a wider stop. The tighter the stop, the greater the possibility that you'll be stopped out. The looser the stop, the more money you risk. So you can split the difference on a volatile stock by trading smaller with looser stops. The rationale is that the volatility, if the stock moves in your direction, will turn a small position into a big position. At least that's the way I'm trading it. Dan
  • bbob: @DAN $OCUL I got a pretty small position yesterday @ 4.95 should I add on a break above 5.40, or would I be risking turning a gain into a loss?
  • Herb: @DAN $OCUL where did you put your stop yesterday, when you got stopped out?
  • DAN: @bbob $OCUL Totally depends on the size of your position. You're up almost 8% here. Given that the stock is volatile and has wide intraday swings, I'd probably just hold what I had (that's what I am actually doing), and let the stock work. Don't put on a big position. It's a goofy little $5 stock. Just let it ride.
  • DAN: @Herb $OCUL I don't remember exactgly, Herb. Somewhere in the $4.90's. Of course, I now wish I hadn't gotten stopped out. But a good trader will often be made to feel foolish by the market. That's just a part of risk management. But you stick with your rules and be confident that, over time, your rules will keep you out of trouble. Getting shaken out is a part of trading. And you can always buy it back -- which is what I did today. No regrets. New trade. Stop at $4.90. If I get stopped out again, I will take the stock off my list and never look at it again.
  • mogo: Out of $OCUL for a tiny gain, in $SQ for the breakout.
  • debeers: $EXAS -Sometimes the ayes and the eyes don't have it. You can count on $EXAS-Poop-Poop-y-do!---i shouldn't have been vague. I should have mentioned $OCUL by name---that was the eyes i was discussing.
  • gvianello: @Dan: I need help. On friday I followed your suggestion to buy $OCUL at $5.16 and I put the SL at $4.90. Today the stock had a low at $4.83 so I was Stopped Out... what I did wrong? Thanks
  • phgruver: @Niche ...Psst, please put a "$" in front of the ticker, as in $OCUL. That makes it searchable, and will link the ticker to a popup chart.
  • Niche: @phgruver $OCUL thanks will do
  • greenpatrol: @gvianello $OCUL Can't see that you did anything wrong. I also got stopped out today. That's trading!
  • gwenzee: @gvianello $OCUL Looked at chart. IMO you bought at resistance. Set your stop too tight. Support is around $4.65. Hope this helps. If you don't do it, start drawing support and resistance lines and trend lines.
  • gvianello: @gwenzee @greenpatrol $OCUL Thanks for your answers. What do you think about $CHGG? Did you enter?
  • Checkmate: @gvianello $OCUL Getting stopped out doesn't mean you did anything wrong, quite the contrary. You kept loses small and being stopped out doesn't mean the trade potential is over, just means you wait for/if a better opportunity arises.
  • DAN: @gvianello $OCUL You didn't do anything wrong. I'll cover in tonight's video. I've been trying to type a response, but it's just easier if I cover it tonight. Won't take long.
  • Checkmate: @gvianello $OCUL PS $CHGG looks good but it's on the hot side and I'd give it some time to cool off and pullback a bit. If it doesn't my approach would change.
  • sniper: @DAN $OCUL as a trader I expect that 60-70% of my trades wont work,Its the gems that make me profitable, just my 2 cents
  • gwenzee: @gvianello $OCUL $CHGG I don't follow CHGG. Nice gap today. Questions: Why? Will it hold? What is upside? What is downside? What does the chart say? etc. etc. Re: OCUL regarding what others may be saying I stand by my assessment that you bought at resistance. Should buy closer to support. We all have different ways of trading and different rules. I don't buy stocks at new highs. Did on several occasions in the past and always got burned. Learned my lesson the hard way. Sorry, I won't pat you on the head and say what a good boy you were by only taking a small loss. Analyze what you did.
  • DAN: @sniper $OCUL I read the first part of your post, sniper, and thought, "OMG. Is this guys gonna say that he expects 60-70% of his trades to work?" Happy that you see it the other way. Ideally, you shouldn't be losing on 70%. But if a trader has good discipline in taking small losses and letting profits run, batting .500 will make you a super star. And batting .400 will still make you awesome! Dan
  • gwenzee: @sniper $OCUL I think I'd try to improve my batting average.
  • greenpatrol: @gvianello $OCUL $CHGG As for $CHGG, I had an alert go off at $40.70, but I didn´t see it immediately. When I looked $CHGG had kept going, so I entered at $41.52. I have just set a 3% trailing stop to ensure I don´t have a loss (right now it´s at 41.85). I'm expecting the breakout to continue, as it's a weekly squeeze.
  • kt4000: $LSI just added moving up.... $KKR getting hurt will add around 25.25held onto $OCUL looks like its moving back up, added more $MRVL in the depths of despair at 24.06 this morning

  • gwenzee: @Gary $OCUL Page can't be found.
  • gvianello: @Gary $OCUL This is the actual link: https://stockmarketmentor.com/2019/07/tutorial-ocul-july-08-2019
  • Gary: $OCUL Good afternoon Team. One of you asked Dan a question in the Forum about OCUL below. It was a great question and Dan wanted everyone to benefit from the answer. Therefore he did a quick Tutorial for all of you. Make sure and take some time to listen. Here it is: https://stockmarketmentor.com/2019/07/tutorial-ocul-july-08-2019/ Have a great day. Gary
  • Gary: @bbob $OCUL https://stockmarketmentor.com/2019/07/tutorial-ocul-july-08-2019/ This seems to be working. I sure hope so :)
  • gvianello: @Gary $OCUL you have the same mistake in the link: it doesn't include the final part "-2019". The right link is this: https://stockmarketmentor.com/2019/07/tutorial-ocul-july-08-2019
  • Gary: @gvianello $OCUL Ahhh, I had to refresh my page and then mine worked. Thanks for posting this @gvianello :)
  • gvianello: @Gary $OCUL @Dan thanks a lot for the video, it really helps. Just one precision: I entered on the trade at 10:25, not at the end of the day.
  • Herb: @DAN $OCUL Where was your stop on Friday?
  • DAN: @gvianello $OCUL Gotcha. Thanks gvianello. 8-)
  • DAN: @Herb $OCUL I don't remember exactly. Just a bit below $5. Very tight.
  • gwenzee: @Dan $OCUL I have a question for you. In your video you said institutional buying was pushing the stock up. 1) Aren't sub $5 stocks referred to as Penny Stocks? 2) Aren't there historically more sellers of pennies than buyers? 3) Aren't institutions prohibited or restricted from buying penny stocks? 4) What was your reasoning for saying that? Sorry, that was more than 1 question.
  • DAN: @gwenzee $OCUL I don't equate a "Penny Stock" with anything under $5 bucks, but I do acknowledge your point. Personally, I think it's a mistake to make a bright line distinction at $5 bucks, which says that no institutions can buy anything ...
  • DAN: $OCUL -- I've started a small pilot position in Ocular Therapeutics. The company just started commercial marketing for an ocular drug and it's breaking out above $5.00 on high volume. I'm pretty sure I mentioned this stock recently, but my plan has ...
  • mikeo561: @DAN $OCUL -- Would a stop at $4.50 be prudent or should it be tighter? Thanks.
  • Henry: @DAN $OCUL a $600 long acting steroid to treat post op cataract pain. I've had 2 cataracts and on a pain scale of 0 -10, we are talking 0.2.
  • coldevinc: @DAN $OCUL I triggered in when it broke 4.60. Got alerts this AM when it broke 5 and put in a trailing stop. Hmmmmmmmm Holiday Markets. Conundrum...... is this day one of a three day run or a gap and crap.
  • DAN: @mikeo561 $OCUL Right now, I'd put it at $4.90. Never make it on an even number like $4.50. That's akin to a stop at $45 bucks on a stock that's trading at $51.00. It's an obvious level to set a limit order to buy (i.e., "If the stock falls b ...
  • DAN: @coldevinc $OCUL Ha! I totally get it. That's the conundrum. Small position. Small risk. Big position...big risk. Small for me. 8-)
  • DAN: @Henry $OCUL 0.2 works for me. Hoping I never have get cataracts. I need my eyes to work...but I'll take a 0.2 level of pain on any part of my body...right now!! ;-)
  • coldevinc: @DAN $OCUL Where ever it is going, it still is.........................
  • DrScience: @coldevinc $OCUL Somebody must have seen @DAN's post, liked the DEC 5 Calls @ 1.40, and bought 300 contracts.
  • DAN: @coldevinc $OCUL LOL. Always.
  • mikeo561: @DAN $OCUL -- Perfect! Thanks DAN.
  • GOOSE: @Henry $OCUL Had cataracts done on both eyes, w/no pain at all. Lucky?

  • DAN: @sniper $din $ocul $gwph Steve is a good guy. He keeps it simple. And simple isd all you need, as long as you're consistent.
  • gvianello: @DAN $OCUL It is still a breakout?
  • lostsheep: @gvianello $OCUL Not speaking specifically to this stock but as the markets have climbed back up it looks as though healthcare , bio techs etc have pulled back
  • JBed: $OCUL anyone else still in this? Holding at the vwap @ $5.05. My stop is $5.

  • greenpatrol: @JBed $OCUL Yep, I'm still in. My stop is at $4.95
  • Robert1965: $OCUL did anyone take profits at 5.25
  • JBed: @Robert1965 $OCUL I hung on and will adjust my stop to break-even. I'm holding only 700 shares so the pop at the end of the day didn't make much of a difference in my P&L.
