  • issues: Some of the earnings are coming in with results in the AH on $MANU $AVGO $RH $CIEN $CHWY $LULU $DOCU $EW and $COST etc. I was tempted to buy AVGO before the report but thought why take the chance, roll the dice... We hold positions in RH LULU and COST.
  • Hilton: $MANU picked up Manu at 16, sold half today..Thoughts?
  • tnt: $MANU was caught in the crosshairs getting crushed by the pandemic. Now appears investors are looking beyond the virus & seeing value in a premium brand. Stock is now above long term downtrending resistance line and also above the 200 day ma once again. I am long calls and stock.
  • Forexpro: Re: $MANU

    Good Morning, Friends,

I last purchased this in Mar at 19.85, which didn't work out well. Not a big loss - it was a small position, and I gave it very little rope - but a winner it was not. The EPL season is under way (with Man U clobberi ...
  • efrain007: @Forexpro $MANU Gunner fan here. So disappointed last year, so close to top 4 and Europa :(
  • Forexpro: Re: $MANU Hi, Friends, With the club through to the Champions League quarter-finals, and the stock recovering after finding its way to the 50 percent retracement level, I took a nibble at 19.85. If it should drop below 19.40 I'll be concerned, although given the modest size of the current stake, my reference point for a stop will likely be 18.75, which (heaven forfend) will be 5.5 percent. The squad doesn't play Barca until Apr 10, with the second leg on Apr 16, so there is some time to kill, and Premier League matches to win, in the interim. Hope your day is going well; all the best!
  • Forexpro: Re: $MANU Hi, Friends, For those who enjoy sports betting, here's a ticker that can help to scratch the itch during market hours. Rather unexpectedly, ManU's 2-goal margin of victory over PSG sends the Red Devils through to the Champions League quarter finals. I'm not sure precisely how much that's worth in incremental revenue to the club, but it's on the order of "quite a bit". It also further cements the club's brand as a leader internationally. That was certainly looking shaky prior to Jose Mourinho's dismissal as manager and the recent run. A Champion's League trophy isn't unthinkable, and that would be worth a good deal of additional cash. All the best!
  • efrain007: @Forexpro $MANU Looking forward to this weekend match v Arsenal.
  • Forexpro: Re: $MANU Hi, Friends, This stock is up quite a bit on the news that Jose Mourinho is out as manager, and we don't yet know whom the interim replacement will be. Still, this is a world-class franchise, despite the recent damage done to its image, and my guess is that Paul Pogba will no longer be paid tens of millions of Dollars to sit on the bench. Relative to past performance, plenty of upside (granted, potentially) remains. True for the team, and for the stock. No position, at the moment, but keeping an eye on it. All the best!
  • jwstich: @debeers $TECK $MHK $MTN Ron Baron (well known investor) who holds stocks for long (up to 20 years) periods on CNBC this a.m.. His rec's: $MTN, $UA, $TSLA, $H, and $MANU. These are long term holds for him so this might not be RHRN stocks at the present price. He was not willing to say exactly what he favors buying now.
  • debeers: @jwstich $TECK $MHK $MTN $UA $TSLA $H $MANU - I like $MTN, $TSLA just on returns. Tricia and I had Tesla a long time ago and it tanked to 115 and then I doubled down and vowed to keep it till 200 and then it got too weird for me.
  • Forexpro: Re: $MANU Hi, Friends, I've been long this ticker for a while from 17.80, and it hasn't really been performing , despite the fact that the company's primary asset is standing third in the Premier League table, with 16 points (crosstown rival Man City is first, with 18). I've got more tickers going than I'm comfortable with, and this is getting pruned, right here, right now. I'll be taking about a 0.20/share loss. All the best!
  • Forexpro: Re: $MANU

    Hi, Friends,

As the attached chart notes, over the past 12 months $MANU has handily outperformed the $SPX. Dkoran and I had a brief discussion about this ticker back in early Aug, and I subsequently took my eye off the ball, failing to g ...
  • Forexpro: Re: $MANU Hi, Friends, This had a rough start to the morning, but has been feeling better since the conference call. I got some in at 17.80, not great, given that it sagged down to 17.57, but it's looking okay for the present. Just a starter, to be dumped if the team drops below 5th place in the League table. :) For the record, I'm an Arsenal supporter, and I admire the way that Everton generally manage to do more, with less. That's sport, this is business. All the best!
  • Forexpro: Re: $MANU Hi, Friends, The new English Premier League season gets under way this weekend. You can participate, not on the pitch, probably, but via shares in $MANU. Now, football results there have been mixed since Sir Alex Ferguson hung up his cleats, but the stock has been performing well, and is in an uptrend. Manny U, the team, has an enviable international brand, and in addition to television rights brings in a great deal of money from endorsements, merchandise sales, and so on. No dividend, unfortunately. I don't have a position at present, but am looking to get involved in a small way. Chelsea remains favored to win the League. I'm an Arsenal supporter. "Oooh to be a Gooner!" All the best!
  • BocaRick: @Forexpro $manu love the Red Devils, not the stock
  • dkoran: @Forexpro This FOOTBALL stuff is catching on !LOL. My son played REAl football in college and now is hooked on Soccer watching. Actually has me watching it when he is home. I am finally figuring out the rules. Not up to speed on $MANU and it's financial situation.Let me know if you pull the trigger on buying as I think Soccer is making inroads in the states in a big way.
  • dave11: $MANU position in long term account, direct investing in a pro soccer team, approaching all time high, plan to add to this position on a pullback.
  • dave11: $MANU starter position taken in long term account. In 23 years if I am lucky enough to be alive I will be 80 and if this gives the kind of return that the Clippers did I will have a comfortable old age.
  • dave11: $MANU, sports team values, with the clippers going for a ridiculous price the publicly traded sports teams seem to be a good type of stock to buy for long term account. For you math wizards it would be interesting to know the ROI on the Cippers. I am starting a list of investable sports teams to watch.
  • dave11: SPORT TEAMS list ($MANU, $MSG)
  • Forexpro: @dave11 Thanks, Dave11, Although Ballmer always, always egregiously overpaid when he was doing transactions at $MSFT, a key reason why he isn't running that show any longer. I'm a little wary of assuming that a price he's willing to pay is going to be a benchmark for any saner individual, no matter how loaded they might be. http://tos.mx/EI9wtc $MANU is a terrific franchise (and, for the record, I think that David Moyes could have succeeded there, given more than a partial season), but the club is going to have to do some serious spending in order to keep up with its deeper pocketed neighbors. Missing European competition next year won't help. I see the stock as stable to slightly down. This isn't a bad place to start building, as I see it, but it may need some time. Hope you're faring well; all the best.
  • Forexpro: Re; $MANU

    Hi, Friends,

This is pretty thinly traded on most days, and management is widely loathed by many consumers of the product, but although results on the field have been sub-par this year, the financial results haven't been bad. Missing the ...
  • Forexpro: @BocaRick, $MANU Hey, BocaRick, Hope you're doing well. Arsenal is only a point clear of Everton (and -2 in goal difference, which hopefully won't become important), but the latter has lost Mirallas for the remainder of the season, and has to play Man City and Southhampton before finishing at Hull. Of Arsenal's remaining matches, only one opponent (Newcastle) is in the top half of the table. I like Arsenal's chances, but as Dan often observes, "That's why they call it football, not trophy hoisting." It isn't as if Wenger hasn't had his own managerial issues this season. We'll see how it goes; all the best!
  • Forexpro: Re: $MANU

    Good Morning, Friends,

Here's a change of executive management that for impact might exceed the departures of Jack Welch, and approximate that of @Steve Jobs: Sir Alex Ferguson is leaving Old Trafford, and Manchester United will be ge ...
