  • sierramp: $DBRG pre-market is pulling back, support is at 18.44
  • Lou: Fools rush in etc. - I just added to $CLRB $DBRG $CLRB $ARDX at around current prices.
  • DavidK: @Lou $CLRB $DBRG $ARDX I have some $CLRB in my long term account ( not my E*trade trading account) and was looking to add . Right here looks like the spot as long as company is not in trouble .
  • woodman: @Lou $CLRB $DBRG $ARDX - I will likely add to $CLRB tomorrow when some additional $$ become available to me.
  • Lou: Using proceeds to add to $DBRG and $ARDX
  • curtis: @BarryC (Good Morning Barry) $DBRG @LOU starter position on open.
  • sierramp: @Lou $DBRG Thank you for this Lou. I took a starter on the BO on 1-22 when you mentioned their reorganization/asset light and will add. The reason for adding now is what you mentioned earlier about running with the big dogs. I see the volume spikes that have happened over the last month or so. That is confirmation. All the MAs are in an uptrend, support is at 18.44 (Sep and Dec highs) and that support just about where the 21D is.
  • Lou: @curtis $DBRG @sierramp - good luck. IMO your entry was well timed. Not unusual for this stock to open lower on tiny volume. Volume spikes up when the institutions come in.
  • Lou: I know that I shouldn't be piggy about my investments, but I just couldn't help myself, so I added to $DBRG this morning at 20.02 (relatively small) in a family account that had a significant cash position.
  • billyzeke: @Lou $DBRG I added a little at 20 myself
  • Lou: @billyzeke $DBRG - buyers coming in.
  • curtis: @Lou $DBRG watched conf call https://viavid.webcasts.com/viewer/event.jsp?ei=1632652&tp_key=422895bf32 Private financing for AI data center core weave, Fiber, Cell towers. (Like $IIPR for cannabis)

  • billyzeke: @Lou $DBRG Wishing I had taken more on the breakout, I'm definitely looking to add.
  • Lou: FYI - I've doing a bit of research and RHRN I continue to pound the table regarding $DBRG. BlackRock filed a few days ago that it has increased its position from less than about 2% of the outstanding common shares to more than 7%. It generally pays to run with the big dogs!
  • sierramp: @Lou $DBRG Very good info, thank you. Hard to add this far above the 8D but.....
  • billyzeke: $DBRG Continues to grind higher to ATH's
  • Lou: Feeling the love - my four largest positions -$ET $DBRG $FTI and $ARDX are all soaring.
  • billyzeke: $DBRG Still holding up well
  • Lou: @billyzeke $DBRG - yes, another new 52 weeks high this morning.
  • Lou: Looks like the $ARDX adds earlier to round up accounts were opportune. On another note, @billyzeke the entry yesterday is looking better and better -$DBRG continues up to another 52 weeks high.
  • billyzeke: @Lou $ARDX $DBRG Yep, it's looking good. I was hoping for a close above 20 but 19.95 works too.
  • billyzeke: $DBRG
  • Lou: @billyzeke $DBRG - glad you're on board. More good things to come as the company has completed it's transformation from a REIT to an "asset light" digital portfolio manager.
  • sierramp: @Lou @Billyzeke $DBRG Very interesting. After research I started small. Thank you.
  • billyzeke: @Lou $DBRG Been watching it for a while, got in on the open, hope it works out.
  • Lou: @billyzeke $DBRG - great timing on your buy - at a 52 week high and continuing to climb. I'm looking for it to break above 20.56, the post reverse split price on 8/22/2022, when it was a REIT and looked like a piece of dung.
  • Lou: Added to large position in $DBRG. Noticed that it starts slowly each morning, then moves up. Looks like today it will follow that trend. I own a lot but I want to own more.
  • Lou: .....and likely my last post for today, $DBRG continues to be a great speculation and I'm now holding full positions in that and the $DBRGprI.
  • Lou: Happy New Year all - For years, on the last day of trading, I've made a buy based on my perception (is it guess?) of something that I believe will perform well next year. Generally, it's been a stock in which I already had a position. This year it won't be different. I am now trying to decide on today's buy. The candidates are $ET $EPD $DBRG $FTI. I will post my decision as soon as I enter the order.
  • Lou: @Lou $ET $EPD $DBRG $FTI - as tempted as I was to buy more of all four, because it is a smaller position of mine than the other three, I added to $ARDX.
  • jonwest88: @Lou $ET $EPD $DBRG $FTI $ARDX I chose months ago and added a few times to $ET, still paying over 9% too. For exploration investment still have a small profitable position in $FANG.
  • Lou: @jonwest88 $ET $EPD $DBRG $FTI $ARDX $FANG - good choice - $ET is such an oversized position for me that I can't add any more. It's what I call my "one decision investment.'" Because distributions reduce one's basis (they're treated for the most part as return of capital), on sale they are gains, and on top of that there would be significant depreciation recapture, the tax bite on sale would eat away much of any gain. At my age, and with the great tax deferred cash flow, I'm determined to hold $ET (and $EPD) for my estate. At that time, under current tax laws, there would be a step-up in basis and my heirs would be able to sell without tax consequences. That said, I think that it's still a great buy, even today.
  • Lou: Adding to $DBRG RHRN
  • Lou: I'm still dabbling in $DBRG and $DBRGprI. The common is presenting a good entry point for an add, so I added just a little bit to a decent sized holding. I'm absolutely over-full in the preferred and looking at it as a cash cow until it gets called away from me at 25.
  • Lou: @Lou $DBRG $DBRGprI - sometimes one gets lucky! Turns out that my $DBRG add this morning was well timed.
  • Lou: @Lou $DBRG $DBRGprI - now with rates to come down enough so that the company calls the preferred at par - $25. I'd miss the 7.85% yield but will book a significant CG.
  • Lou: Big move today in $DBRG on $JPM upgrade and that also lifted my $DBRGprl on unusually high volume.
  • Lou: Take a look at $DBRG - it is trading at around $18. It needs to hold the 18 and show some movement above (which I expect it will). Very little of the stock is held by individuals. That's a slight concern, but once it moves from this range, I expect a strong move up.
  • Onthemark: $SPY broke below 442. Exited most positions taking profits and small losses. Holding $GOOGL, $LLY, $WFC, $DBRG, some energy $WFRD, $OXY and a couple bio specs, $ARDX and $SPRY.
  • Lou: A la Columbo - just one last thing - adding again to my high conviction holding $DBRG.
  • Lou: Watching one of my now larger positions for another add - all sort of good things are happening to $DBRG but I'd like to get it cheaper.
  • Lou: $DBRG is working and I'm looking for more upside. Will announce deconsolidation and a ton of debt will disappear from the balance sheet. Very large position for me but IMO it's not too late to buy or add.
  • Lou: @Lou $DBRG - continues to ramp up. I still view it as a buying opportunity.
  • Lou: $DBRG preferred I trading up on very high volume. Average daily is generally about 20K shares. Today at 3:30pm more than 130K shares.
  • Lou: Adding to $DBRG - I like the repositioning as an asset light company and the plan seems to be working, Also holding the $DBRGprI.
  • Lou: $DBRG has now been trading in the 14-17 range. I'm looking for it to break above 17 before I add more - and I plan to add in size.
  • Lou: $DBRG and others are buying up the outstanding preferred shares. The I shares $DBRGprI are still yielding a decent 9.57percent. I'm a holder of a decent position but if I weren't in it, I'd be buying for the yield and appreciation to $25 par.
  • Docoof: @Lou CEO of $DBRG live on Bloomberg.
  • Lou: My beaten down $DBRG reports tomorrow morning with a CC at 10. I'm looking for a decent pop tomorrow. Just sayin'.
  • vcondry: @Lou $DBRG your $FTI analysis has been without equal...what makes you so sure of a pop on this fella?
  • Lou: @vcondry $DBRG $FTI - think I know what's going on - the $DBRG has a major presence on four continents, no variable rate debt, plenty of firepower. and excellent management. Admittedly it's a flyer, but I think it's a good one. Will listen to CC tomorrow at 10. This is a former REIT, transformed to a digital REIT and recently converted to a C Corp.
  • vcondry: @Lou $DBRG $FTI i'll be watching with you thanks for the anaylsis!
  • Lou: #PS to my previous post - I'm still holding the bag on $DBRG as it continues to slide, but hope is eternal, and the market seems to be telling me that I'm not as smart as I think. That said, I'm stubborn on this one and expect a payday. On Monday $DBRG will be reverse split 1:4 and I expect that the higher priced shares will attract some larger buyers. When I last checked, it was held by: 4.26% Insiders 85.62% Institutions (89.43% of float) about 10% by individual investors Not proud of my trading $DBRG but fessing up and expecting better times.
  • Lou: $DBRG and $FTI are in massive buyback mode. I'm taking advantage of that with some swing trades.
  • Lou: Looks like the $DBRG buyback is paused before the weekend. Might be a good place to take a swing position in anticipation of a resumption of the buyback next week. Just a guess.
  • Lou: $DBRG letting us in this morning, I'm putting in some spare change to add to my largest position.
  • Lou: Still holding very few, but concentrated, positions. One of my largest, $DBRG, just announced another acquisition with words that are music to my ears "immediately accretive."
  • Lou: Yesterday I posted that $DBRG announced a major restructuring. In addition to a transformative acquisition, it announced that it is converting from being a REIT to a C Corp. In my opinion, as soon as all of the REIT and Real Estate investors are through getting out, the shares will soar. Here's what I found regarding $DBRG holdings in real estate focused hands: https://www.etf.com/stock/DBRG I'm sure some of the dispositions will be in private transactions but some are an overhang in the market. I have much more than a full position.
  • Lou: I've been posting periodically about $DBRG. This morning the company filed a major transaction in which it announced that it is acquiring the rest of Wafra and that it is converting from REIIT status to a C Corp. IMO this is a major positive for shareholders of $DBRG though there will be some initial weakness as REIT investors will have to dispose of their shares. I believe that this presents very good buying opportunity. I'm very long the company.
  • Lou: They're throwing out the babies with the bathwater. I'm using today's panic to add to positions in which I have the utmost confidence. My highest conviction holding, very much overloaded in my portfolios, is $ET and I continue to add under $10.10. Also added a bit to $DBRG. I did use today's downdraft to roll down a few short puts, putting a few pennies in my pocket. BTW, since I mentioned $DBRG, my piggy bank for free cash is the preferred I, $DBRGprI, as current yield is 7.22% and it will be called at par shortly after 6/5/2022. The trick is to buy at a discount to the $25 par.
  • cmaxwel1: @Lou $ET $DBRG $DBRGprI Adding $KMI along that note
  • Lou: @cmaxwel1 $ET $DBRG $DBRGprI $KMI - I've traded $KMI any number of times. I'm out now. I still like it but have decided to concentrate on $ET as I expect much more upside. It just raised the distribution to .175/q with a firm stated commitment to distribution increases to get back to the $1.22, as the top priority for the immense cash flow it generates.
  • Lou: @Lou - added $DBRG to my day trades for today. Likely will be out of all three day trades before close today.
  • Lou: As has been the case for a number of days now, $VIAC is moving up into the later part of today's session. That was my reason for putting on the day trade. $ET and $DBRG are also up a bit and I'm expecting them to close to the upside. Don't know whether I'll carry them over night but will decide after a gym interlude.
  • joelsg1: @Lou $VIAC $ET $DBRG Thought you were long term on $VIAC or the warrant?
  • Lou: @joelsg1 $VIAC $ET $DBRG - I am LT in all three. The day trades are new positions in an account that doesn't hold them. Because I'm LT I kinda think I know the trading patterns. That's why the day trades.
  • joelsg1: @Lou $VIAC $ET $DBRG Nice, I hope.
  • Lou: @joelsg1 $VIAC $ET $DBRG - delaying the gym until after 4pm. I will close the $ET before eod as I do not want the MLP data in that account this year - may do another day trade tomorrow, As for $VIAC, it's kept me very busy for a long time. It is a long position in my LT account but I've been using options to trade around the long shares and stay within shouting distance of break even. It has been a lot of work but I believe it will be worth it.
  • joelsg1: @Lou $VIAC $ET $DBRG Same re $VIAC.
  • Lou: Added to $F $DBRG ($VIAC- bid not hit. so $VIAC put sale still pending)
  • Lou: ...
$DBRG is by far my largest position and I still believe that it will be at $10/share quite soon. I'll explain:

$DBRG is the former Colony Corporation. Colony was a massive amalgamation of real estate, RE debt, nursing homes, hotels, derivatives a ...
  • champ: @Lou $DBRG --- #Happy-New-Year @Lou....nice info post....
  • Docoof: @Lou $DBRG Good info — Thanks (Full boat with cb = 7.80. Bought on pbs based on your suggestions about opportune moments to add.)
  • Docoof: @scottto_2 $DBRG This @Lou’s stock is making a nice 2-day move and looking good.
  • gt: $DBRG hanging in; thanks @Lou
  • Docoof: @gt $DBRG Ditto: thanks @Lou
  • Docoof: @Lou Started a pos. today in $DBRG today at $7.83 based entirely on regularly reading all your instructive posts. (Or, rather, entirely after I assessed the chart for myself in terms of what I considered to be acceptable risk vs. reward.) Day 1 = +2.94%. Thanks, Lou.
  • Lou: Still pounding the table about $DBRG. Opportunity to buy at around $8 with a strong chart and likely $10 by early next year.
  • Lou: $DBRG again strong into the close on volume.
  • Lou: Hadn't planned on trading today, but couldn't resist a few bargains IMO. Added to $DBRG at 7.84 in an account that didn't have enough exposure to my fav, also added small to $BROS - bought a little $PXD.
  • slp20: @Lou $DBRG $BROS $PXD I bought ATM 4/14/22 calls on $BROS today. Earnings are 2/9/22. Curious to see if it’ll get some institutional support. If not it reminds me of the $RKT IPO that came out with great earnings and then crashed.
  • Lou: @slp20 $DBRG - I think you'll be happy you bought the calls. I'm about done with banging the drum for it, but look at the daily today. Also, until recently, it traded in small quantities; since last week there are numerous block trades every day - all to the upside.
  • Lou: $DBRG is having a nice day.
  • Lou: $DBRG massive volume relative to average.
  • Lou: Haven't posted in too long as I've been preoccupied with a variety of matters, including work on real estate transactions, health issues, some non-earth shaking trades, and family events. That said, I've added this morning to a very much overweight position in $DBRG as I could not resist the 7.55-7,57 trading range. Still expecting $10 early next year as management has engineered what IMO is a terrific transformation.
  • woodman: @Lou $DBRG - Sorry to hear about health issues, Lou. I hope they aren't serious and that you recover quickly.
  • Lou: @woodman $DBRG - thanks - nothing earth shattering concerning my health - just ongoing testing and treatment of a long standing pulmonary hypertension and other long term chronic ailments that bedevil folks in later years. So far under control but my new medical team (and it's really a team consisting of several docs) is scheduling a right heart cauterization in the near future.
  • lauralynnee: $DBRG Thanks for the heads up on this one @Lou, glad you have a good medical team on your side, stay well this holiday season!
  • woodman: @Lou $DBRG - best of luck with all your treatments.
  • Lou: Can't help but think that the tiny drop in $DBRG to 6.76 is again providing a decent entry point. My bet is that it will regain the few pennies by the close and will trade higher into earnings on earnings on Nov 4.
  • vfr777: $DBRG @Lou kept the faith. At the 50day !!!
  • vfr777: @Lou $DBRG Have to have a lot of faith. Moving even lower!!!! Thanks
  • Lou: @vfr777 $DBRG - I'm disappointed but I still continue to expect significantly higher prices. If I weren't full, I'd be adding. I did repurchase some $UPST shares on which I'd taken a profit at 314.18 this morning. Then again, even brass balls can get crushed.
  • vfr777: $DBRG anyone watching $DBRG? To shed some light if it's worth holding? I'm holding at a loss.
  • Lou: @vfr777 $DBRG - I own a lot from well below and still have great expectations from this company and the excellent managers who are now at the helm. That said, I'm very disappointed in recent performance but continue to have faith in 1. management; 2. the international digital interconnectivity business; and 3. the massive worldwide coverage area that it controls.
  • vfr777: $DBRG @LOU Are you still in $DBRG? I've been holding this and it keeps going down making an all time low. Don't know if I should throw in the towel. Is there something in the horizon that you might know of that warrants holding it?
  • NickSingh: @Lou $NIO $BUMBLE $SCR $UPST $DBRG $AAPL $VIAC thanks, missed this comment earlier tofay, now just checking the forum at midnite before htting the sack.:) I was referring to covered calls on $NIO, though you are absolutely right and I have also learn ...
  • Pokersmith: @Lou $NIO $BUMBLE $SCR $UPST $DBRG $AAPL $VIAC Great post @Lou...could very aptly be called ( no pun intended, believe it or not ) " Capping Your Upside " Rgds
  • Lou: @Pokersmith #Broadband - $DBRG - on a tear recently, transformation of $CLNY to a digital REIT is almost complete, with global coverage ready for 5G. CEO Marc Ganzi is on his way to earning a $100mil stock bonus. I’m very long and enjoying the ride. The #Broadband component of the infrastructure funding plays to company’s strength . Oh, and yesterday’s jump in $ACI helps with one of the remaining non-digital assets, a 17+ million share holding.
