Thanks for your interest in learning more about options. I hope you
enjoyed Part 1 of The Alpha Option series – I recommend reviewing it
again. I bet you’re a lot like me. I always find that a second look
at something important is quite helpful because I pick up a lot of
essential information that I missed the first time around.

You probably noticed that The Alpha Option is educational – it is
not a sale pitch. That is by design. I do not want you to
be a part of the Option Market Mentor Community if it is not the
right thing for you. I really want you to gain a basic understanding
of options and how I’m going to go about things at OMM. (By the way,
there are a lot more free educational tutorials for members of Option
Market Mentor.)

In Part 2, you’ll find more educational material about how options
work. You will also find the answers to the most common questions
and comments that we received about Alpha 1.

Thanks again for your interest in OMM. Here is the link to Part 2:

Do I have to remain in front of my monitor (screen) from 9:30 and 4:00 in order to trade options?

I may not be at home when you give your option mentoring ( the particular option: stock, call or put, strike price, month of expiration, bid and ask, and maximum purchase price for that option). Can I listen to your advice in the evening and place the trade the nexr day?

Will there be a new option mentor and a new option trade suggested every day?

Will the mentoring indicate the target price and the stop loss price of the opton? How do I place stop losses with spreads?

Please do not mention my name over the internet. Thnak you.

Hi Bert. You won’t need to be in front of your computer all day long. If that were required we’d have about 6 people hanging around with us 🙂

We’ll cover target price, stop loss, etc. We’ve already got great tutorials for you on these very subjects. See you Wednesday!!

    Dan,

Really good stuff…. I am looking forward to the actual strategy applications. Examining Delta & Vega understanding how Theta affects our value and how & when we apply the strategies in each of the Market conditions… Trend, Range bound and Breakouts. Thank you for taking the time to Educate the masses and for your genuine consideration for the other guy!!

Dan Very good presentation. Will you cover how to figure you experatiion dates and how deep in the money to go ?How soon will we be able to become members so we can access your educational sectioin of the site. I have been a member of SMM for several months and can,t wait to get started with OMM. Wayne

You mentioned that there is a saying “90% of options expire worthless”. Are these options that expire worthless in the money or out of the money? In other words, are the 90% of options that expire worthless because there is no intrinsic value at expiration date, or is it because individuals just choose not to exercise them for whatever reason?

Aloha Dan, I’ve been a SMM subscriber for a while and an active option trader trading mostly on SSO QLD AAPL GOOG and PCLN because of volatility. I’ve been using SMM to try to get an idea of broad market trends using your videos as a course in technical analysis. I’ve got a couple of questions, first are you really making these alpha videos now? They seem to be several years old and I wonder if you are really reading these comments and answering questions contemporaneously. Secondly, when can we get a peek at what day to day OMM will be like? Do you think someone like me would benefit from both products or just one or the other?

    • avatar Gary says:

Aloha AT. You would definitely benefit from OMM. Remember, you’ll pay $7.77 for the first month which will allow you to peak around. I guarantee you’ll want to stick around 🙂
These videos were done this week. Some of the PowerPoint, etc. was done previously but only if it is considered “evergreen” in nature. The questions that we have answered in Alpha 2 are directly from people who have emailed us in the past week 🙂 See you over at OMM. We’ll be opening up on Wednesday!!

Dan, thanks for the presentation. How soon will we be able to join or at least to try it ? Can you give us a description of how you are going to conduct the omm site. Will we have a few trades every night to pick and choose for the next morning or just one trade once in a while when you can find one that you think it will work? Will we get an explanation with it or just the option. Will you have more educational videos? At least for me, since I am just beginning, your videos are a lot easier than reading an option book.
I look forward to joining the omm. Linda

We will open OMM up for new members some time Wednesday. Yes, the educational videos will continue to come. Dan’s trade videos are also educational in nature. Also, we are currently sending out about 2 specific trading ideas per week. Sometimes more, sometimes less. It will depend on the market. We only send out trading ideas that we feel confident about. We want you to know what, why and how to make a trade and exactly how to get out of the trade.

  7. avatar Brad Davis says:

IT is my understanding you can not collect dividends during ownership of a Call or Put option. How does the lack of dividend collection factor into using options over the short term and long term. It has to add to my cost basis somehow.

  8. avatar v says:

Hey Dan – These are interesting presentations and others seem to be way ahead on the learning curve. I have some even more basic questions on the objective of options…e.g. does anyone ever exercise their call option to buy at lower than market price- and if so who has agreed to sell…and why would someone sell at less than market? Maybe I should read a basic book on options.

  9. avatar tb says:

I am a former SMM subscriber and stopped because I felt like an outsider trying to get into a group and it seemed like much of the commentary was directed at veteran subscribers, and I was late to the party. I know OMM has been tested, but will the new offering be a new beginning, or will I have to know some history?
    Thanks
