- texgecko: $URA $URNM So why are uranium stocks up? According to the WSJ, Kazakhstan’s NAC Kazatomprom, the world’s largest uranium producer says it has two problems. 1] It can’t get enough sulfuric acid – which is needed to extract uranium from the ore. 2] It has delays in completing construction work at newly developed projects. Canadian producers stand to benefit says the WSJ quoting a Canadian analyst at Scotiabank. Kazatomprom may have to go on the spot market to fill customer obligations. Kazatomprom produces about 40% of the world’s uranium but is a fairly small part of $URA and $URNM, two uranium ETFs.

- TraderGeekSam: @scottrades $URA $CCJ A wise and very profitable macro hedge fund manager once wrote not to pile into anything or draw conclusions about the year from the first two weeks of trading. There are so many head fakes as institutions and hedge funds get re-positioned after "clearing the boards" or taking a break at year-end. It's been good advice.

Short: I closed my $NVDA bear call spread before earnings and re-opened a Sept 500/510 BeCS after on the pop after ... - ray: $CCJ $URA $NXE $URNJ Spot Uranium had advanced past $59/lb, touching a high of $59.35/lb. It started August at $56.25/lb, so roughly 5%. What's significant is that August, and particularly the final week, is usually a 'slow' month for utilities looking to buy Uranium, which is the first part of the nuclear fuel cycle.
- bigbartabs: @Henry @DAN ... $URA $CCJ ... I was in 2nd grade in 1962, paying more attention to how pretty my teacher was back then. I do remember though, that my dad, a WWII vet, was glued to the news each night during that time. It was much later that I realized just how critical that time was.

- Henry: @DAN $URA $CCJ My school was built in 1930, coal heat, no AC and 10' high windows that would have shredded us.
- bigbartabs: @ray $URA $CCJ .... the real killers for nuclear early in my life time were remembrance of Japan at the end of WWII, the melt down in Pennsylvania, and then the Russia melt down at Chernobyl. At that point, nuc fear factor had really set in. So yes if nuclear was discovered today without those disasters... it would be accepted as a God send. But of course a later discovery without the disasters that nuclear brought with it (to learn)... probably would could never have been prevented through all the needed discovery and testing that exposed all the dangers in the first place. The difference if discovery had been later (like now) may have been the higher technology levels with it... immediately safeguarding nuclear testing from the start... saving us from the disasters that we suffered, by discovering nuclear so early. In short... good point.

Another I've liked... every since my chemistry teacher in high school taught us about it (a raunchy old German fellow, named Igor Valov, that had a gun fest at his house every spring, for us all to shoot ALL of his collected guns... something you certainly won't find these days! ) ... was hydrogen. Where the exhaust pipe sputters water. I think there are energy consuming problems with producing hydrogen that eat up some of the benefits. But water as exhaust? Now that there's enticing to anyone with a brain.

Have been absent for the past couple weeks because we bought and are remodeling a property, so stocks have been on the back burner. Have been selling into this rally and currently sit at 60% cash. #Trading: Still bullish energy, long $UNG $URA. VIX is at major lows, I'm looking for a volatility expansion/pullback in the indexes in the next week or two. $URA $DFS $CMC $AMD $BOIL - sold everything, not swinging anything into the weekend $URA - 8ema pause, booked profits @ $22.5 $DFS - At resistance (Feb highs), booked profits @ $116 $CMC - At resistance (Apr highs/100EMA), booked profits @ $48 $AMD - 135/140 Jun bear call spread, booked profits $BOIL - At resistance (100EMA), sold remaining shares @ $ 3.33 #LTA - $SCHW $NEM $FTI $DVN $CTRA $PAA $FCX $MOS $NEM wow that's weird, majors are making a move and the minors are NOT, haven;t seen that in a while. $NEM broke above $43 resistance to the upper BB, looking for a test of the 200sma at $46.

$URA - I legged into a full $URA position which is now above the upper BB on high volume, (great call @Scottrades a week or two ago) planning ... - maracom: $URA having another strong day
- scottrades: @sgiseller $CCJ $CEG Nice! CEG has a nicer chart. Noting that $URA and $TAN have similar short-term patterns. Maybe it's a big bear flag...I'll keep watching it.
