- joelsg1: @woodman $TSLA Exactly, and he knew how to make a shaped charge so interesting the charge was set to showcase the perimeter protection of the steel truck, which Tesla says they'll refurbish and put it back on the roads. Definitely a Hollywood story.

Please. Canaccord raises to $404 based on 40x 2027 eps of $10.11 which seems low with as they put it the "generational set of growth opportunities ahead".

- joelsg1: @Bert953 $TSLA Suggest you take test trial of the FSD, try it on suburban streets first before braving NYC, guarantee you will be favorably impressed with at least the 13 version (assuming your Y is new enough to have the Hardware 4 cameras). Check with Tesla--they may continue offering the 3 month free trial. The car itself is not luxurious though the new Y ride is much smoother and they are coming out with an updated model this year which I intend to get.
- Motorman: @joelsg1 $TSLA Thanks fort he update! I talked my dad, age 88, into getting one for the incentive with promise to take from him if he does not like it. FSD is amazing! He is retired control systems engineer so does not trust technology ;) But I find it very useful on the road after a long day at work.
- joelsg1: $TSLA Further thoughts: Tesla missed consensus 500k auto deliveries by about 4430 vehicles, at about $7k profit per vehicle w/o FSD/services that amounts to a $31M hit. However, their big beat on energy storage deployment about 5.2 GWh higher than their last 4Qs at avg. profit of about $100M per GWh is about $520M better. Yes, the energy biz is lumpy, but where I come from $520M beats a $31M hit every time. Also, good for $EOSE which offers a different but competitive energy storage product. So, I think 3 Day Rule applies to $TSLA, whose E now set for 1/29.

- woodman: @joelsg1 $TSLA $EOSE $RCKT - Sorry, I don't know anything about it. I'll have to take a look. Biotech has been so lousy for quite some time. And then there's the head-scratcher of immensely unqualified RFK, Jr. to lead healthcare in the U.S., if confirmed. I don't think the pharma/biotech industry has much of a grasp of what that will mean. My biotech positions are $ARDX (bought back mostly between around $4.70 to to $4.90 and a little more at $5.20 - of note, insider (Director) David Mott recently bought $1 million worth of stock at $4.67) and $HUMA (bought back between ~$4.90 and ~$5.05). My ARDX (small-medium position) is larger than my HUMA (small). I also have a little (even smaller position in) $TGTX and $AUPH, and a mere placeholder in a few others just so I don't forget about them. All in all, a relatvely low concentration in biotech.

- joelsg1: $TSLA Tomorrow is last liquid day to trade before Q4 delivery numbers out before open 1/2. As posted I have been trimming, but now back to Musk's psychic $420 level so perhaps either front-run selling is done or else these numbers aren't as important now as in the past with narrative change. Wild card is Btc as TSLA holds about 10k Btc. UBS reset delivery expectations at 500-510k (need 514,925 for YoY growth). Think I'm done trimming into event.

- joelsg1: @Motorman $TSLA No doubt, and that helped US sales along with a bunch of promos, but Europe is weak and it appears production was paused at Fremont and TX indicating either retooling for newer models or just weak demand. However, longer term I think FSD rules and corners the market, helping TSLA sales and those who license the tech.
- Motorman: @joelsg1 $TSLA It is counterintuitive to think EV tax credits would be revoked with Musk in Trump's corner. Holding a position that I rebuilt after selling at the lows earlier in the year.
- joelsg1: @Motorman $TSLA The other EV makers with higher COGS benefit more than $TSLA which makes profitable EVs without the credits, so it makes sense to revoke those credits to crush competition, and if DOGE does anything to eliminate the many other unnecessary subsidies our government provides to big oil, big ag and such it would give Musk cover to say he's cutting his own subsidy.

- joelsg1: $NVDA Yes the chart has been range-bound for 6 months exhibiting H&S top...But it did the same thing in late 2023 around $50 split-adjusted and then rocketed $100 higher in the following 6 months before settling. Catalysts begin 1/6 with Jensen's CES keynote and continue through E 2/26 and then their big developer's conference beginning 3/17. Tied with $TSLA for my largest pos.

Still think we crater on delivery numbers 1/2, which for me means riding through next Monday or Tuesday at latest then trimming shares and stock replacement with call spreads. I think the numbers will be close but show no growth from '23 and then the reaction will be key, does unit delivery growth still matter when they're doing so much better than the others with increasing FSD, new models, energy and robots 'on the come'.

- joelsg1: $TSLA Played around with my son's new FSD version 13, now reverses out of a garage which is new and kinda a big deal. Given the speed of improvements with each iteration, I think it achieves unsupervised FSD status by end of the year, subject to regulatory approvals. And that's where Tesla Insurance may come in: most regulators require that the company assume liability in order to approve true FSD, Tesla Ins. does that and gets the owner to pay for it with premiums, a brilliant business plan IMHO. Take rates may zoom as will high-margin profits. My 2nd largest pos. though intend to do some stock replacement into year end as I think 1/2 delivery nos. tank stock st.

- Henry: @Bridgemate $TSLA It's almost a tombstone doji on the weekly chart which is considered a topping pattern. We ended November at 345 and got to 588 in less than 3 weeks. In no universe is that a normal move. European car sales are down 40% BTW. I'm holding for now, but I don't see it continuing on this trajectory.

- scottrades: @Bridgemate $TSLA -Remember Dan's most concerned about helping people protect their money during times of volatility. He wants to make sure people can lock in a winning trade and wait for a new setup. It doesn't mean you must sell but he's looking at the gain and the reaction to the Fed and expecting more volatility ahead. I do see that bounce off the 8 EMA. I think you could easily try and hold the trade and put a stop under yesterdays low as protection.
