  • Preacher: Did anyone buy $SDS or $QID today? Thank you
  • champ: @Preacher $SDS $QID....I was trading $UVXY and $UVIX today...because these ETF's covers all the volatility, that is in all of the other ETF's that are in the Markets.....and so does others like the $VIX.
  • TraderGeekSam: @Preacher $SDS $QID I had both, but bought earlier this week. Scaled out of 1/2.
  • ruskinq2: @Preacher $SDS $QID $VIX I had built up huge $SDS sept 16 C position over past couple weeks and on Wednesday I couldn't take it anymore and was ready to bail underwater and almost did, fortunately Thursday came with that fugly candle so I held in there and unloaded today, also had $VIX call trade courtesy of Sam (thanks Sam!) which I sold out as double. I still think we are far from done, so looking to reload if that opportunity arises (still in Sam's inflection point $SPY trade)
  • Cjauger: $QQQ Weekly is at the 50 week moving average. Looking like a good short. Trying some $QID here one more time. Sold all my longs
  • Cjauger: Added to my short position via $QID
  • Cjauger: @champ $SPY #Tariffs. reducing $QID
  • Cjauger: Out of $QID. Market surprising to the upside. $META beats up 4% after hours Perhaps tomorrow we get a higher open that gets sold into
  • Cjauger: Trying some $QID here
  • Cjauger: @woodman yes, swinging $QID here
  • Cjauger: out of $QID
  • Cjauger: ...
I remain in $CASH, looking for opportunities to buy $QID.

    Good trading everyone
  • woodman: @Cjauger $CASH $QID - And those small and mid-sized business - the true backbone of our economy - don't have the clout of a technogarch to go to the White House and make a tariff carve-out deal for themselves.
  • marklesparkle: @woodman $CASH $QID Well on the positive side we finished up but the news is shaking out and these small and mid and big if they do pay up the costs get passed to us and then we don't buy it because we cant afford it and so it sits on the shelf so to speak and it just portends to everything is getting cracked and broken like a windshield. Just my 2 cents from a common man
  • Motorman: @joelsg1 $QID $SPX so true, I try to do much. Day job and trading.
  • Cjauger: ...
Made a perfect call on my first $QID trade. Even exited with perfect timing.

Yet I was negative. I have an advisor that uses a bull put spreads on $SPX strategy to get extra cash out of the market. This was working well.
But with the volatility t ...
  • vitoB: @Cjauger $QID $SPX … tough man. A you’re spot on stock trader too. I personally always am grateful you post and take your trades. two weeks ago was mine. Also related to options delta blowups and goin back in bigger and more stubborn. My wife said she didn’t trust I wouldn’t lose more money. And that really kept me up for days. Since then have I have recovered. I’m sure you’re an even better trader now.
  • joelsg1: @Cjauger $QID $SPX Sounds like you know better than that expert. I trade options and a few basic strategies, but not put spreads. Even though they are inverse the call spreads which I use alot, as Dirty Harry famously said, "A man's got to know his limitations."
  • Cjauger: @DavidK $PDI $SWVXX $QID Yes I agree with you, that was then, this is now. Walmart decimated the mom and pop shops. The time to talke action was then. Those jobs are forever gone, because of automation and AI. The job market evolves.

    Those tariffs w ...
  • Cjauger: Bougth $QID as market reversed
  • Cjauger: @DavidK What jobs is he talking about? did you see the jobs report? We have moved on from those jobs, we have other jobs now, we have better jobs. We run the place, we are the innovators. The market likes the way things were. The composite man will be the ultimate impartial judge of where this goes. My hope is that prosperity continues. For the time being and until there is clarity as to the full impact of these draconian tariffs, I remain in $PDI, $SWVXX, $QID
  • DavidK: @Cjauger $PDI $SWVXX $QID without going into an in-depth analysis with you , let’s just focus on a few specifics. I worked in and witnessed what Happened to the manufacturing base in the USA over the past 40 years . Luckily at the age of 39 I ...
  • Cjauger: Taking profits on 1:/5 of $QID Thank you @Dan for pointing out the shorting opportunity Will look to take further profits in a downward opening
  • DAN: @Cjauger $QID Glad to hear you grabbed some of that trade, Cjauger!
  • Cjauger: $QID sold all my $QID
  • scottrades: @Cjauger $QID Nice trading Christian!
  • Cjauger: @scottrades $QID my struggles are not the entry. My struggle is always the exit.
  • Cjauger: $QID working, largest position. Also holding $MO, $JAAA, $NLY and $PDI. AnD $SWVXX
  • StockMarketMentor: If anybody is so inclined, you could consider shorting $SPY here. It's likely going lower from here. $SDS is the ultra-short, and just shorting $SPY gets the job done without leverage. Short $SPY with buy-stop at 576.35, or... $SDS stop at 20.20 And/or...you could short the Q's, which are also likely to pull back more., Shorting the $QQQ with a buy-stop at 493.20. Or...buying $QID (inverse short ETF) with a stop just below 34.50. Just spitballing. --Dan -Dan
  • Cjauger: Closed my $QID at the open
  • Cjauger: Bought $QID again
  • Cjauger: $QID at HOD
  • Cjauger: Stopped out of $QID at VWAP
  • Cjauger: I have an unusual defensive mix. $QID 15%, $PDI 10%, $JAAA 10%. $SWVXX 65%. The president inteview with Bartimoro did little to calm markets. If anything the president was dismissive of concernd raised by CEOs and business leaders. What will 25% tariffs do to the economy? That is a huge % with our largest trading partners. If like me you had a good year in terms of realized capital gaing last year, you feel the pain of the higher percentage tax brackets when you write that check to the government.
  • vcondry: @traderbren $SPY I had considered depending on the close going $QID $SDS but usually when i capitulate in that direction is when things go the other way (im the definition of dumb money)
  • traderbren: @vcondry $SPY $QID $SDS - hey, we've all been there. I wouldn' t be pressing trades to the downside here given the move on the $VIX. We would see a turnaround Tuesday...
  • vcondry: @traderbren $SPY $QID $SDS $VIX good point. I gotta master the art of doing nothing like Dan preaches to us. I always feel I got to be doing something one way or another and it constantly gets me in trouble.
  • Cjauger: Looking at weekly $SPX, you can interpret as trend is still intact, but at dizzying heights. No tariffs today? but Tariffs tomorrow, or next week, or tariffs in a month, Tariffs on this, no Tariffs on that. Uncertainty. As a big institution, why not lighten up a bit as the market rallies on news of tariff delays and exceptions, as Livermore said institutions need buyers to ligthen up. I am short $QID, I have some $JAAA and my cash is in $SWVXX earning 4%. Playing defense.
  • woodman: @Cjauger $SPX $QID $JAAA $SWVXX - It seems that my only success of late has been with short ETFs.
  • Cjauger: @woodman $SPX $QID $JAAA $SWVXX yes, me too, I am learning that, there are markets that it is just better to stay out of. Protect $CASH
  • woodman: @Cjauger $SPX $QID $JAAA $SWVXX $CASH - Agree.
  • Cjauger: Closed half of my $QID today
  • Cjauger: $NVDA Not even stellar results from $NVDA can lift this market. Not a good sign. Still holding a short position via $QID.
  • woodman: @Cjauger $NVDA $QID https://www.morningstar.com/news/marketwatch/20250224127/stagflation-is-the-new-threat-to-stock-market-rally-what-investors-should-know
  • Cjauger: Austerity measures continue, with HUD slated to be cut by 84%. And FHA planning to layoff at least 40%. Started shorting this market yesterday via $QID. Rest of money is in $SWVX
  • DavidK: @Cjauger $QID $SWVX if you owned/ hired as CEO OF a huge company like the govt , this would be job# 1 on first day. Only retain resources that only add value to the organization.
  • woodman: @Cjauger $QID $SWVX - Smart, IMO. And Trump has lifted the delay in implementing Mexico & Canada tariffs, which ironically scraps the very economic trade deal that Trump himself implemented in his first term (though he has conveniently forgotten that). And of course the orders by Musk that conflict with agency heads' orders to their employees about reporting on what the do on a daily basis. Musk sent a second email saying if you don't comply, you are fired. Agency heads and OPM saying not true and that it is voluntary. Funny, because in Court, DOJ says Musk isn't running anything and doesn't head DOGE. All this spells CHAOS. Markets tend not to like chaos. I'm ~90% cash, and that may not be enough.
  • woodman: @DavidK $QID $SWVX - No sensibile company would create the chaos that this Administration is creating. And after tens of thousands of employees are fired or forced to resign, and funding is shut off to vital parts of the economy and to states, you can bet this will have a ripple effect on the economy and the Market.
  • pperlroth: @woodman $QID $SWVX currently 60% and adding. I have some puts in some companies and those are doing well. As soon as it turns I may be out of just about everything.
  • DavidK: @woodman $QID $SWVX yea I can see initial turmoil in the markets but longer term it’s necessary. Short term pain for long term gain . China could shut our pharm industry down as they supply most drugs. And that’s just one example . No way any of the wasteful spending of taxpayers money would have been identified and actions taken to stop it . As Biden told the keystone pipeline employees and others in the energy industry , go learn to code or get a green scam job .
  • Cjauger: @woodman $QID $SWVX Well said woodman Musk is a brilliant engineer, as an owner of a model Y and a model S, I can attest to that. Hands down the best car ever built. However he is no economist, has neither empathy nor compassion. No doubt that there are inefficiencies in the public sector that should be be addressed, but in surgical fashion. Musk waving a chainsaw at CPAC, clearly states that he has no intention of being surgical. Also have some $JAAA
  • DavidK: @Cjauger $QID $SWVX $JAAA I am not seeing how any of the firings of excessive waste ( employees reduction ) and stopping funding to programs that have nothing to do with our country or economy are detrimental in the long run . Sure some people are going to be unemployed ,but most are getting 8 months severance pay which allows them plenty of time to learn how to code . Biden admin surely didn’t give a sh!t when they destroyed the life’s of many energy employees.
  • woodman: @DavidK $QID $SWVX $JAAA - there is zero evidence that people being fired or forced to resign were wastes. There is a ton of expertise that the federal government is losing by firing workers who've been there for decades. I know some of them, and the ...
  • joelsg1: @DavidK $QID $SWVX $JAAA The AI LLMs have eliminated the need to learn how to code, just ask your chatbot which does it for you. Ask your offspring. But you need VRAM to do it and the only source for that is the new $NVDA graphics cards, an underappreciated component of NVDA's growth story which should show accelerating growth quite separate from the Blackwell data center numbers..
  • Cjauger: @DavidK $QID $SWVX $JAAA The US government funding is a complex interconnected web., Who knew that cutting USAID would impact farmers? At the end of the day, Mr Market will tell us. Right now, it is not telling a good story, however that could change.
  • joelsg1: @woodman $QID $SWVX $JAAA Why do you suppose they are pushing so hard and fast to cut govt. spending? Why of course to support their renewed tax cuts for the rich via the no-filibuster reconciliation process which requires no increased budget deficits. https://thedispatch.com/article/tax-cuts-congress-deficit/
  • DavidK: @Cjauger $QID $SWVX $JAAA USAID was a vehicle to fund mostly programs to promote a multitude of things that had nothing to do for the good of our country .money laundering vehicle for corrupt politicians and others . The programs that do help our country will be continued in some other dept or maintained . I keep hearing it was only this many billion or so that was a waste and not billion plus . A billion is a lot of money . Wounded warriors , tunnel for towers and other worthy causes could use these funds . Pisses me off every time I see one of these organizations advertising on tv for donations . They shouldn’t have to ! We can’t take care of our veterans and homeless but can disguise billions in bs scams to send to foreign countries and then end up in the pockets of crooks
  • woodman: @joelsg1 $QID $SWVX $JAAA - Yep. Creating a slush fund for that purpose. That won't help the economy. Beyond not helping in any significant way the regular folks who entrusted this Administration, it seems to me that it would be inflationary while doing nothing overall to reduce the debt (likely would increase it). But I'm no economist.
  • woodman: @DavidK $QID $SWVX $JAAA The effect on real people in America's heartland. I suspect this didn't even hit Musk's frontal lobe as he danced around in a frenzy with his huge chainsaw. https://tennesseelookout.com/2025/02/19/billions-of-dollars-at-stake-for-farmers-hit-by-trump-funding-freeze-pause-on-foreign-aid/
  • joelsg1: @woodman $QID $SWVX $JAAA As I've said before, that tax "cut" actually increased my taxes due to the SALT and mortgage interest deduction caps and eliminating the investment expenses deduction (like this subscription fee) against other income.
  • Bert953: @Cjauger $QID $SWVX $JAAA Well said! We also have a Y. Its a scary time in America as the foxes in the hen house seem to be being replaced with wolves. Yet people have confirmation bias and wont acknowledge the dangers such swift and radical upheavals present to society in the name of draining the swamp and creating a meritocracy. Of course the swamp needs to be drained. But people always try to game the system, engage in nepotism and political favors. So color me skeptical when a NY developer in cahoots with a billionaire entrepreneur, who was a campaign super-donor, without any hint of empathy tries to sell us on their vision of a brave new world. No wonder the stock market is showing concern, as it should!
  • Cjauger: @joelsg1 $QID $SWVX $JAAA same for me
  • Cjauger: Trying small$QID
  • Cjauger: out of $QID
  • Cjauger: Holding $QID only
  • Cjauger: @woodman $FNGU LOL Trying some $QID
  • Cjauger: Sold $QID Bought small for trades only $FNGU, $NVDA and $NU
  • Cjauger: Sold $QID in that better than expected inflation report, and time for a bounce
  • Cjauger: So one tenth of a point below expectations and we rally? Even though it is one tenth of a point above previous month. I remain skeptical that Wednesday’s shot acroos the bow, is negated by one tenth of a point. Institutions will let us know soon enough. Had a nice day trade on $QID yesterday and $QLD today. Also if I may throw in a testimonial for @TraderGeekSam, we have some nice trades going at OMM. His stock/trade picks are on 🔥🔥🔥 , check out $IONQ, he got us in there when it was trading in the low 30s.
  • billyzeke: @Cjauger $QID $QLD $IONQ On the other hand, the market is getting two less rate cuts than expected next year after getting more cuts than they should have this year (at least in my opinion) and the market tanks like it did the past two days... I think they are just jerking us around trying to seperate us from our money.
  • Cjauger: trying some $QID
  • Cjauger: Trying some $QID
  • Cjauger: Following champ, sold $PLTR bought $QID and $UVIX
  • champ: @Cjauger $PLTR $QID..... $UVIX is up 12% and it looks like the Markets sure aren't happy and I added again....only really need 1 short ETF, IMO, can always add more risk...and for sure, always Trail the add-ons.
  • Cjauger: Bought some $QID
  • Cjauger: out of $QID.
  • Cjauger: Tryiing $FIGS closed $QID
  • Cjauger: Trying some $QID
  • Cjauger: $QID working
  • woodman: @Cjauger $QID - and $TZA
  • Cjauger: @woodman $QID $TZA Never heard of that one, just added it to my watchlist. Up 9%
  • Cjauger: @woodman #Suxtember Nothing like some $QID to brighten it up a bit
  • Cjauger: @woodman Right there with you, I have been retreating into $CASH for the last week. Every time I take a bite at a stock I get a paper cut. I am 100% in $JAAA. I wanted to short via $QID but the gap was brutal right at the open. Time for to seat on our hands and wait for better prices
  • Cjauger: $QID and $SDS working stop between LOD and VWAP
  • Cjauger: Long $SPOT switched from $QID bear to $SPOT bull
  • Cjauger: Stopped out of my short $SDS, $QID and $SBIT at LOD
  • Cjauger: bought $QID back at $48.29 with a stop at $47.85. Thought the rally was a head fake. Trade worked
  • Cjauger: @Simar297 $MSTR IMO, this is not a dip, broke decisively below an bear flag. Turn your screen upside down and it will look like a bull flag. Or look at the screen while standing on your head. Looks like the beginning of a falling knife, I have an HODL Coinbase account, I don’t trade it, but look at the balance as an indicator of risk on it risk off. Right now it is flashing risk off. Hence I am in $CASH and in $QID. As to when should you buy? Wait for green
  • Cjauger: Big volume into the close $QQQ and $SPY both tanking. $SDS, $QID, and $SBIT doing well
  • Craig97003: @Cjauger $QQQ $SPY $SDS $QID $SBIT Wow! That's painful! Ouch!!
  • Cjauger: Bought $QID @$47.35 stop at $47.09
  • Cjauger: I took a small position in $QID, I was stopped out. Market did not do what I expected. Took 1 long position in $CAVA, it had a 10.50% move, thank you $CAVA.
  • Cjauger: @ssoha20 $QQQ I shorted the market via $QID and $SDS, last week. Closed those positions on Monday, and now I am looking to short again. These are trades not positions.
  • Cjauger: Bought back $SDS and $QID on the gap up this morning
  • Cjauger: Going to close out $SDS and $QID for a small profit because of $META and $MSFT earnings
  • Cjauger: 3 positions $CASH, $SDS, $QID. Frankly surprised by the intensity of the selloff.
  • Cjauger: $SDS and $QID working. Being patient with it.
  • Cjauger: $QQQ Below the 50 day. Added to $QID
