- StockMarketMentor: Gold continues to run. $GDX = +11% $KGC = +15.6% As previously noted, it's best to just let these things run. The are tracking above the 8-day exponential moving average, which is a pretty good benchmark for gauging the strength of an uptrend. When you let the good ones run, those profits will outweigh the small losses you inevitably take. Make sure your average gains are larger than your average losses. And NEVER allow a loss to get out of hand. --Dan

- StockMarketMentor: Note how the gold stocks are acting. $GLD is up almost 2% off the lows today. $KGC is up 5.5%. $NEM up 5%. $AEM up nearly 7%. Meanwhile, the major averages are still drifting lower with no real signs of exhaustion. I see some traders in the Trading Room grabbing some stocks that are rebounding, which is nice to see. But...as I said a while ago, this is likely to take a while to settle out. It's not all horrible. -Dan

I like $WPM as a play and I bought some today. Some of them are trading at a discount to their peers like $SAND. I also like $EGO which is trying to crest some Weekly resistance.

List includes, $GDXJ $FNV $WPM $AG $AU $GFI $KGC $ $GOLD $NEM… Chart with the longest base and best close on Fri seemed to be $AG. $WPM second, and $GFI had a huge move but actually didn’t close very nice, a move above Fri high for this one to me. And actually $GDXJ looked better than most of the large holding charts oddly enough. Any one else ?

Some red on the screen today, though, there's still an hour to go to fix this travesty. :P Yesterday as you know we have a gap up and pullback but then the bulls came in to BTFD. If you're in a new trade, consider the low of yesterday as a key level to watch. Stocks should hold there. If they don't it might be worth considering taking some protective action depending on your trading style. Mining stocks continue to catch my eye and they tighten up. I mentioned a few last night: $WPM $KL $AME and $NEM. There's lots more as well, like $GOLD $AUY and $KGC that are worth watching too.
