At those 2 points, probably more buyer interest starts to get excited about the 2 new highs and drives it higher.

- champ: $SPY...the Markets are working nicely today....and so for, that is happening on a huge #Options-Expirations-Day.......... ....normally the Markets would be more volatile, with more drops, with even more zig-zags........... ....so for me, this is a nice surprise. The Markets must like all of that positive News-flow, about all of those New $$$$, that are somewhere around $2.5-$3 trillion $$$'s, that will be invested into the U.S., from Saudi Arabia, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates, (the UAE), off of P-Trumps trip, to the Middle East. ....If the Markets were to get a nice close today, that would be another positive Set-up for me, to add some more $$$ into the Markets, some more risk. ......$TQQQ $SPXL $FAS $NAIL........ $CEP $MSTX.....for Now, I'm still holding these swings, plus 10 other stock positions .....and I'm also trading $COIN and $DJT ..and it looks like I will be swinging some of both. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

- Nepenthe: $XLF $FAS $QUBT I don't follow earnings earnestly, but it seems the big banks did relatively well, which led me to the $XLF (today jumped above its 50ma) which in turn led me yesterday to take a small position in $FAS. The XLF is above its 200ma as well. Another I'm interested in is $QUTM, which led me to $QUBT. Early, but it's up 7% today and perhaps on the verge of a BO. That's it. Cheers.

- phgruver: @champ $SSO $TQQQ $TNA $FAS Most "experts" will tell you that leveraged ETF's are not good investments, as they are designed for Day Trading. I've seen how that works, by getting trapped in $SPXL, for almost a year before I could break back even. They do go up faster, but they also come down faster, and the long term return is about the same as the underlying stock (or index.) The only long term advantage is that they are generally cheaper. $SPY is $589, where $SPXL is $182, and $SSO is only $97.

- Nepenthe: @bigbartabs $NDX By the way, isn't the elephant in the room upcoming earnings? Banks start reporting Friday, followed by tech at the end of the month. I have a small profitable position in $FAS which I'll hold over the first few days of bank earnings. Were it not for earnings, the $XLF looks poised to break out--BB's are less than 4%--but as we know, if they disappoint, it could go the other way. Just random speculation before the political fireworks in November. Cheers.
- bigbartabs: @Nepenthe $NDX $FAS $XLF ... I've got an XLF hi / lo range alarm... 45.89 / 45.34. If it hits the new high, I'll take a starter position in FAS... and see where it goes. The low is the 8dema... that's most often the best point to take a starter position, if it gets there.

I've scrolled through all the big boys ($WFC has actually broken out) and all the charts look attractive, all above their moving averages. I don't know how earnings went for them, but as the market implodes, they seem on the verge of exploding. I actually bought some $FAS with a tight stop below today's low. Am I reading this wrong? Literally on a beach in Maui, I checked in with my wife's smartphone--I'm allowed but a dumb one--and noticed our stop on $XP got hit, 24.50, low of day, 24.43. Well, in a bit of a Mai Tai fit, I bought it right back, with a stop at LOD. I imagine you consider it still a viable trade? Also, I'm surprised there's not much talk about financials. They seem to be doing well and after yesterday's pull back to the 21 day, in a Pina Colada fit I bought back some $FAS. Opinion on them? Or anyone? I'm running up one hell of a bigbartab here and need to pay it off. Aloha.

Of those pairs that I tend to track $UNG/$BOIL $XLV/$CURE, $ITA/$DFEN, $XLRE/$DRN, $XLI/$DUSL, $XLE/$ERX, $XLF/$FAS, $FNGS/$FNGU, $XOP/$GUSH, $XBI/$LABU, $ITB/$NAIL, $GDX/$NUGT, $XRT/$RETL, $SMH/$SOXL, $XLK/$TECL, $XLY/$WANT ... only $XLE $XOP are close to being above the 8dema. Also, $UNG is tough, since it doesn't correlate well with 3x $BOIL I always track the 4 index pairs... $DJI/$UDOW, $SPX/$SPXL, $NDX/$TQQQ, $RUT/$TNA... of which none are even close to the 8dema. The only one that could be worth starting a position is $DJI, that bounced off of the 200dma. All the best...

- champ: @Onthemark $WFC $JPM $BAC $FAS ....Yes could be, however these Banks are Now on a #Pre-earnings zig-zag move higher, IMO, now that the CPI and PPI reports are over.........and on the FOMC Rate Decision on 9/20, they will Pause, is my guess, however either way, that won't effect their earnings. $WFC....it will move though that resistance with-out any problems......and I'm also Holding a nice size position in this Bank. Kind of expect it to go the same route as well but still holding out hope. All good trades but had hoped for more; yes, the greed factor.
