- champ: $MU....is HOD at $87 and it looks like this could go back-up to their late 2021...high at $98.45 or even higher now, because they said that they are going to have a real-strong-demand in 2024, for their both their Memory and Flash-storage Chips. ....I'm holding just about a full position.
- Henry: $MU If people weren't looking to see where the exit door was, they are now. MU up 6% in pm. Over the years the talking heads like to tell us the company is going to do well because of chip shortages, or poorly because of a glut of chips. I don't have any edge on something that is already known by people smarter than me. It looks like a gap and go at 8:10 am. Since I rarely make money in premarket, I'm going to sit this one out. In fact I think I'm done for the year. Next week is a 4 day week and I'll bet a lot of pros will be on the slopes.

Here are some possible scenarios: -It holds the gap and you buy with a stop at the low of day -It fills the gap and you buy the intraday bounce with a stop at the low of day -Wait till the last hour of the day, buy a strong close, stop at the low of day

- phgruver: @Docoof $NVDA $AMD $MU Not sure what you mean. $MU is a mfg. of chips and is one of the holdings in $SMH. According to the WanEck WEB site, $MU accounted for 3.26% of $SMH holdings. They mostly make memory and logic chips, though, so they are not a competitor in the CPU/GPU market.

Your post expresses what I thought, but just to be certain, I double-checked to see what group it was in at IBD and saw it was in a different group: computer/data storage. Then I briefly glossef through a description and didn’t see anything about chips or semis and thought perhaps I was mixing up $MU with something else. —Thanks for the correction. It’s appreciated.

- vitoB: I don't get $MU strength and chart. They have recently started production of their most recent DRAM node in Taiwan but volumes are low. Their new Boise fab won't be running until 2025 and they already lost the china business. NAND has bottom but low margins still. It's the best chart in the semis. Call me stumped. Excluding $NVDA and $AVGO amd oems. The rest of the SMH my comp.

- vitoB: $MU is reporting tonight, and end of the quarter after semis have run, need to take some off, especially if Micron, which is commodity memory so most likely to have trouble coming out of the slowdown first, will add more stress. wait it out.
- champ: $MU....they had an inventory write-down....and that effected their earnings, they clean-up the books.....and now we will see how that plays out.. in the sector, in the morning....... ....a write-down, against earnings, saves on Taxes....and is that going to turn-out to be positive or negative and so far the stock is up a little....... ....throw-out the Old, the Obsolete...and make room for all the New chips..... I can sure relate, to being Old.

- vitoB: $MU is up premarket, ill be taking half off at the open, saw an article how DRAM pricing is improving Q/Q, and a Barrons article, but those things dont seem like a reaon for 5%, theres also the CES consumer electronic show, but I'll take it
- vitoB: $MU i thought id have a chance to buy this back after it opened up 5%, but this has held up better than i expected. just kept a placeholder to make sure i didnt forget. also rare semi stock that is above an avwap from 11/30 which is before dooms day earnings...very interesting
- vitoB: $MU this like most semi's are for sure in the penalty box, but before the last 'sky is falling' earnings, closed at 51.19. cut numbers, capex, scrapped bonuses, stocks at 50.39 as i type this. so all that in the price and its only down about a percent? hard for me to see this falling out of bed again. 48.43 (which is 2 pennies below the October low, seems to be a clear get out level. built a position and looking for returen to 53 ish

- debeers: $MU-because they came in at LESS THAN HALF of what was expected on earnings, last night semis will have a rough day. Personally, i cannot imagine a worse set of stocks as long as the fed continues to raise rates. Conversely at the FIRST CUT--NOT PAUSE in with both feet for the best of them. Play the inverse if you are really lazy--Semis Short
