  • elgie: $CEIX, $LNG Heads up! The forgotten energy stocks are perking up. In addition to these two, there’s also LNG and VLO. All four have their 5, 21 and 50dmas tightly converged. They all have headroom above before major resistance.
  • woodman: $CEIX - good day.
  • woodman: $CEIX - not sexy like tech right now, but this is probably going higher.
  • woodman: $CEIX on the move back up, trying to get through the 50d now
  • woodman: @traderbren $CCJ $CEIX - On the flip side, I also sold $CEIX into earnings and now happy I did. :-)
  • traderbren: @woodman $CCJ $CEIX - Great move! Continue to polish that Crystal Ball ;-)
  • woodman: $X and $CCJ off the 50d; $CEIX off the 20d.
  • woodman: $CEIX uptrend still intact (testing 20d area support now). Earnings 10/31.
  • woodman: $CEIX - drift/pullbacks to 20d area have been buy spots. Just pointing this out while recognizing that everyone's on edge with the Middle East and economic uncertainty.
  • woodman: $CEIX continues to inch up. 8dEMA is first level support with occasional dips to the 20 day area when those two MAs come close in proximity.
  • sgiseller: @debeers $ANET $ANF $CEIX $ELF $GOOGL $LLY $META $PANW $ZS $APLS Big dump last qtr, chart does not get me excited nor does the pipeline, but the current 3 mo trend is up, as for the citi recommendation, ignore
  • debeers: $ANET/$ANF/$CEIX/$ELF/$GOOGL/$LLY/$META/$PANW/$ZS-the last 2 are , admittedly, dupes but folks are sufficiently paranoid to have BOTH work. LONGS ALL-Love the commentary on $APLS and only 1 of the 2 i own in this space. The average price target for Apellis Pharmaceuticals Inc is $71.75. This is based on 15 Wall Streets Analysts 12-month price targets, issued in the past 3 months. The highest analyst price target is $146.00
  • shoredriver: @debeers $ANET $ANF $CEIX $ELF $GOOGL $LLY $META $PANW $ZS $APLS ....APLS....what happened in early June to cause it to go from approx 90 to 25??
  • joelsg1: @debeers $ANET $ANF $CEIX $ELF $GOOGL $LLY $META $PANW $ZS $APLS Potential problem with $ZS and $PANW is both have R&D in Israel with workers subject to call-up to military. $PANW was actually founded by Israeli who is still CTO with 2nd largest R&D center in Israel--I own it but need to be aware.
  • joelsg1: @joelsg1 $ANET $ANF $CEIX $ELF $GOOGL $LLY $META $PANW $ZS $APLS $CRWD just weeks ago acquired cloud cybersecurity startup Bionic, so perhaps same issue but to lesser extent.
  • woodman: $CEIX another ath.
  • sierramp: @woodman $CEIX I've been stalking it and added. Possibly high quality coal will be more in demand for steel products i.e. munitions?
  • DAN: @woodman $CEIX shorts are getting squeezed in a vice.
  • woodman: @DAN @sierramp $CEIX - my initial buy along the 8dEMA didn't turnout great (it didn't hold the 8), but I wanted a foot in the door and I held the position. I added on the two recent pullbacks to the 20d. I'm still holding all of it as the the uptrend remains intact, though short term, it's extended/at a high point relative to past points on the chart and within this uptrend.
  • debeers: $ANET/$ANF/$CEIX/$CRK/$GOOGL/$LLY/$META/$MTDR/$NOC/$PANW---plus a couple of small bio positions.
  • woodman: I still have trading shares of $X $CEIX and $LEU. Mostly cash.
  • sgiseller: $ARCH $CEIX so much for coal
  • sierramp: @sgiseller $ARCH $CEIX I've been waiting for this PB in $CEIX.
  • woodman: @sgiseller $ARCH $CEIX - ARCH said it expects adjusted EBITDA for Q3 to be about 10% lower than Q2, and yet BMO Capital maintained its Outperform and raised PT to $170. :-?
  • debeers: $ANF rich moms buying rich clothes for tbemselves and rich kids/ $CEIX metallurgical coal/ $CLF ok in its own right but even better because they want to buy $X and $X wants them to--we know what you are, we are just negotiating price, $MSFT- the single most stable boring tech in the world IMO-i think $AAPL needs to increase revs and will buy Bing from Microsoft, $NVDA still the semi of choice, $SMCI gee i bet the chart is ok too, $X from here figure between 25-30 percent up on a buyout, longs all except $AAPL Y'all have yourselves a weekend,
  • oldtimer: @debeers $ANF $CEIX $CLF $X $MSFT $AAPL $NVDA $SMCI gave $CEIX a run but got stopped out . .rest look like good spots to take small starters . . thank you for all your input
  • debeers: $CEIX-Baby its COAL outside and in steel plants.Don't believe me---ask @Woodman.
  • debeers: $CEIX and $SMCI my 2 best money honeys today. Bought 1 of them at 95 and 1 of them at 246.
  • camaro69: @debeers $CEIX $SMCI Nicely done!
  • debeers: $CEIX-The best metallurgical coal co. bar none. This is the one you must have for steel IMO
  • woodman: @debeers $CEIX - It's the one I have, but met coal across the board doing well.
  • debeers: $CEIX-@Woodman when the kmarkets have no choice for the best in class, they cave and the stock goes up!
  • woodman: @debeers $CEIX - It's pretty cool how we often happen upon the same (non-biotech) stocks with me looking more at the charts and you looking at fundamentals and the stock's story.
  • Bridgemate: @DAN please cover $CEIX and $WFRD
  • woodman: $CEIX bounce off 20d. Coal working well generally.
  • woodman: $CEIX - meant to say I added to CEIX today.
  • debeers: $AMZN,$CEIX -winner winner chicken dinner, $F, $MUR, $SMCI, $X
  • debeers: @woodman $CEIX - This is metallurgical coal. This is what you need to make steel.
  • woodman: @debeers $CEIX - For your $F and $X!
  • woodman: $LEU $CEIX - back to their 20dMAs which have been secondary support (after failing to hold the 8dEMA) over the last 1.5 months. Maybe things are different now but they are holding these levels thus far.
  • debeers: $ADBE, $ARDX,$$AZO,$CEIX, $CAT, $V, $VLO,$X-LONGS all.$forgot $WDC
  • debeers: Might be a good time for discipline to triumph over wishin' and hopin' Have 8 stocks but all but 1 (my ittty bitty) all above the 21 day most at the 8 or above-$FDX above after earnings whic is up 12.50 $AMGN/ $ARDX/$AZO/$CEIX/$FDX/$LULU/$TXT/$X
  • woodman: $CEIX - like a number of others in the coal sector, this continues to work. It's moving up through $100 today. The 8dEMA has been good support. I have a position in this one.
  • sierramp: @woodman $CEIX Nice chart and mostly good #'s. Nice div too but I can't tell when the next div-ex is. I always regret buying above the 8D so I'm going to stalk this one. Thanks.
  • debeers: $CEIX- What would your ideal stock be? Would it be a stock which 1. Has had a declining percentage of folks betting against it? Say from 6.24% to 5.40% 2. Has institutions (big money ) support of 91.7% 3.Has an amazingly low p/e ratio of 4.63% 5. Ans even has a divvie of 4.53% NOT ONLY DOES CEIX CHECK ALL THE ABOVE BOXES BUT 6. it has 5 beatg and raise quarters in a row
  • debeers: $CEIX is 22 miles down the road from$X. No worries with train derailments. No worries with expensive transport either.
  • debeers: $AJG-decided i could do better wit6h the $X so moved the dough that one and $CEIX---@LOU right as usual.
  • jonwest88: @debeers $CEIX Bought this one back in May and added a bit on the dip and then more later in June. Sold 30% off at 92 a few weeks ago to lock in some profits, was getting nose bleed. Looks like I was early.
  • sgiseller: @Dan $CEIX. $OXY
  • DAN: @sgiseller $CEIX $OXY sgiseller, I apologize for not getting to these stocks. $CEIX -- definitely a runner. I'd be watching the 8-day EMA as a reference for support. The stock is working really really well. It's tough to buy right now, but should be easy to hold. $OXY -- I think it's really working on a good base. 50-day / 200-day MA crossover is good. As a trade, I couldn't justify it. But as a longer term hold, I'd look for a pullback closer to the 50-day moving average. It doesn't have much upside momentum, but it certainly under institutional accumulation, which is what we want to see.
  • jonwest88: $CEIX hmm, time to consider taking a bit off the table? Up 55% since March.
  • jonwest88: $CEIX taking 30 % off the table @90.65, stop on another 30% @ 81.70, the rest stop out @ $78.45
  • jonwest88: $BTU nope; $CEIX yup.
  • jonwest88: @Eng_trader $BTU You 'dig' coal look at $CEIX.
  • woodman: @champ $ARCH - Yes. And if it can move up out of this bit of consolidation at the 200d, it could be very nice from here as well. Some others in the coal space that are working - $CEIX $AMR. Maybe $HCC on a rebound after this fall back to the 50d.
  • champ: @woodman $ARCH $CEIX $AMR $HCC ....Yeah....I keep doing that, on $ACHR....because I have a trade going on with $ARCH...... because it is on my Watch list, for #Quickies......LOL
  • champ: @woodman $ARCH $CEIX $AMR $HCC.....$ARCH is the second largest coal producer in the U.S....and $BTU is the largest but they only focus on met coal.
  • jonwest88: Worst performer in my group of 4 LT portfolios is $ROKU down 3.65%, Best Performer $TJX up over 4% and real close is $CEIX. I did add a larger trading position of $ROKU yesterday @$82.74. That is the only stock in my trading portfolio which is independent of the other ones.
  • jonwest88: You gotta put some more coal in the boiler ( steam heat ) You gotta put some more coal in the boiler ( steam heat) $CEIX
  • woodman: @jonwest88 $CEIX - nice action there and in other coal stocks. Np.
  • jonwest88: $CEIX do we see an incipient breakout? singing " throw some more coal in the boiler" ... ( Steam Heat! ) Pajama Gamers
  • jonwest88: Energy getting hit $HAL, $PXD. Hmm Coal stock jumps! $CEIX
  • sgiseller: @jonwest88 $HAL $PXD $CEIX They had solid earnings this AM
  • jonwest88: @debeers $AAPL $ARDX $CROX $JPM $MSFT $SCHW $TECK $BTU You like them, ay, then we like $CEIX
  • bla00109: $CEIX picked up a small amount in IRA just above the 200d SMA,. Has a 7.24% div with a Div. payout ration only 8-9% - so div is very safe. $CEIX has been very volatle so implied volatility high, and selling covered call will generate more income.
  • wineinquirer: $CEIX $BTU ? News re: coal drubbing? np
  • vitoB: @wineinquirer $CEIX $BTU im thinkin this would have to be related with the russia energy/price cap situation
  • scottrades: @vitoB $CEIX $BTU I think you're correct on that from what I've read today.
  • wineinquirer: @scottrades $CEIX $BTU ?any source of news you can identify, Scott. Makes sense but can't find documentation. Hope Christmas was festive and have a peaceful start to 2023!
  • phgruver: @wineinquirer $CEIX $BTU TD Ameritrade, via Bezinga, is blaming it on an uptick in COVID cases in China. I guess there's concern that China will go back into lockdown mode.
  • scottrades: @wineinquirer $CEIX $BTU I can't find it at the moment, but I do remember them mentioning it on IBD Live today.
  • scottrades: $CEIX Green but bit of a wide spread.

  • phgruver: @Niche $AMR Coal is really tough, right here. The chart for $BTU and $CEIX look very similar. At least $CEIX pays a 5.84% dividend.
  • swingbound: @phgruver $AMR $BTU $CEIX The one big difference I see is $CEIX is working on another Monthly breakout , having its Monthly broken out previously this March . Whereas $BTU is much lower in its pattern and still in its Monthly Cup , its working on a Weekly breakout . Presumably the Monthly might be a more powerful pivot to overcome and with more juice than the Weekly .
  • geotheo: $CEIX Anyone see news on this one. Rather large move and I'm wondering what has made me so happy.-
  • woodman: @geotheo $CEIX - I don't know the news, but I did see the big breakout up through descending resistance. I was too slow in seeing it this morning. By the time I did, it had moved too much for me to buy it. You had to be fast if buying it today (as opposed to already being in it).
  • scottrades: My notes: $SPY / $QQQ Awaiting The Hawk $DIA Lower High $IWM Under the 200 Day $UUP Watch this tomorrow $GDX Basing $TAN Lower Low $XLE In consolidation $BTU Breakout on good volume. $CEIX Breaking out of a base $ARLP At the 50 Day $NSC Flag $CSX Another attempt at the 200 Day $CP Long base $AEM At the 200 Day $FNV Sloppy base. $APA Flag $COP Holding the 50 Day $EOG Flag $LNG Loose but holding the MAs $CF In a base
  • Obsxllc: $CEIX thoughts here?
  • scottrades: @Obsxllc $CEIX A bit extended here above the MAs.
  • MongosPawn: @Obsxllc $CEIX For what it's worth, sold half mine at 69.59 for +9%. If it pulls back below 68.34 will sell the rest, then look to reload.
  • phyllis39: @MongosPawn $CEIX
  • RD: @MongosPawn $CEIX Sold CEIX this am locking in gains. What level are you planning to reload?
  • MongosPawn: @RD $CEIX Not certain on the reload point. I'd like to see it approach the 50dma then bounce. Ideally the 8 and 21 get above the 50dma (they are all coming together now along with the 100dma). And I'll likely get back in on if it breaks today's high with volume. Lastly, if it breaks through the moving averages I'll watch for a bounce near the bottom of the recent channel. My 2 cents.
  • RD: @MongosPawn $CEIX Appreciate your insight. Thanks!
  • RD: $BTU $CEIX Both up 6% today.
  • Mounty: $AMR, $ARLP, $CEIX, $BTU, $ARCH all blitzed today...election results did them no favors
  • woodman: $CEIX - moving off 20week area support into a little descending resistance that I don't think will cause too much grief. I have some. We'll see.
  • bla00109: $CEIX Here is a coal trade: Buy write covered call Nov18 $70: Premium: $2.23 pot cap gain: $1.38 X-div 11/10 $1.05 -------------------------------- $4.66 Which is +6.8% return if option exercised at expiry.

  • DAN: ...
    $CEIX -- Forming a base in the 60’s.
$AMR -- This is looking really good. Lots of possibilities
$ARCH -- Nothing here. Too sloppy.
    $ARLP -- Pinching.
  • Justhanging48: $CEIX has pulled back to the 50 dma, good spot for a placeholder position
  • Justhanging48: @Justhanging48 $CEIX Didn't hold the 50 dma, going small helped, now waiting for the bounce
  • DAN: Stopped out of CONSOL Energy ($CEIX) The stop at 65.90 was hit on $CEIX earlier today. Do not violate your stops. They are essential to proper risk management.
