  • Junior1: $EWZ Brazil stocks have been doing well. $PBR $VALE $ITUB $ABEV $BBD
  • dcphinney: @Junior1 $EWZ $PBR $VALE $ITUB $ABEV $BBD $SAN has strong Brazil, Latin America coverage w/Europe. Brexit does present a challenge, but perhaps the overhang is an opportunity, too.
  • Bridget: $BBD moving higher but need to see if it can break through $9
  • debeers: $BBD-BBD-finally got a good earnings report. Margins JPM would kill for at 30.29%/6.52% growth and 8.62% p/e. Did I mention they have a 4.08% divvie and the Olympics, Zika infested though they may be are coming.? They'll have the Olympics. Took me a little longer than it should have to go through the earnings report but my Portuguese is a bit rusty. (just kidding).South America, after the longest time, will finally be in the black and has turned the ship around.
  • SADL: $BBD.B.TO @Philippe Hi Philippe, are you trading the CDN market? i Wonder how many of us SMM members are
  • Trixie: @SADL $BBD Hello Fellow Cdn.. I do most of my stuff in the US as I find the liquidity is much better.
  • SADL: @Trixie $BBD likewise i do most of my swing and day trading on the US market. I do have a % of my long term acount in the Canadian market + i swing trade some of the most liquid i.e. banks, railroads and some mining on the Cdn market
  • henrik511: $BBD - WOW what a ride, better than Six Flags. With negative catalyst behind it, this is a very well capitalized bank, pays 3.32% dividend and is growing. Watch for 200 DMA. If / when it breaks the 200 DMA this can go much higher
  • henrik511: @mradams0621 - I am long $PBR and $BBD both through stocks and options. Regardless of outcome Brazilian (and that is not a number president Bush) stocks have been beaten down so even if things are status quo and Rousseff remains president there will still be positive improvements. If you listened to $DO conf. call the other day you would have noticed they are having a ot of activity in Brazil, which was the reason for their positive results. Just connecting the dots
  • henrik511: $PBR, $BBD - Brazil not going out of business. Nice entry points ahead of elections. Either way I doubt they will go further down, keep tight stops respectively $12.73 and $13.46
  • henrik511: $BBD - got pulled down with PBR on bearish remarks from a short seller (Chanos). I think this is a good trade right here with a stop at $12.41, $.05 down, $3.5 up
  • Neil375: $EWZ Brazil ETF New high. Most Brazilian stocks looking strong today. $BRFS, $CIG,$ABEV, $ITUB, $PBR, $VALE, $BBD, $SID Some are at new highs.

SIX: Brazil's top banks $BBD $ITUB $BSBR BBAS3 show nice gains in first quarter with higher earnings. bear in mind, inflation is a problem and credit expansion has been slightly curtailed.

    Corruption is a problem ...
  • OPTIONSWEALTH: $BBD - There was a post yesterday about getting into BBD. I took a look at the chart and it made a lower low just 3 & 4 trading days ago, before the current uptrend. This stock needs to make a higher low unless you were bottom fishing with a tight stop. I'll wait. I'm curious as to why it went on this long downtrend in the first place? So, I have some research to do.
  • tsogles: $BBD @optionswealth All Brazilian banks sold off last week as the Brazilian CentralBank upped its' reserve requirements in an effort to dampen growth and inflation (China has done the same). Better this than a rate increase. I bought the bottom on $BBD and will hold with a stop below the low. It may take time and it may not work at all. I see a pretty rosy picture for Brazil in the long term, hence my interest. Regards, @Terry PS: You're right...I was bottom fishing..maybe I'll catch a carp (or maybe a crap!) but I see the upper downtrend line around the 20 and the 200 below and I am comfortable with my trade.
  • tsogles: $BBD Brazilian bank bounced off of 200 ema yesterday and having good upside today on greater than average volume...watch the top of the short-term downtrending channel (around the 20 sma ). If it makes it through this area on decent volume and back above the 50 ema I'll add more. Regards, @Terry PS: $TAM sitting on 50 ema and $ERJ bouncing off 50 ema.
  • OPTIONSWEALTH: $BBD - Keep us posted. I may join you in that add. I have some cash to deploy.
  • tsogles: BRAZIL Many of our brazilian stocks have drifted down over the past several sessions with many approaching their 50 emas . $BBD (bouncing at its'200 ema), $ERJ (sitting at its' 50 ema), $TAM (testing the 50 ema), $CPL (dropping to the bottom of its' channel and yeilding 7.6%). These may offer some diversification away from U.S. stocks and offer tradeable entries soon. Keep an eye on them. Buy low, sell high. Good luck! Regards, @Terry cpl
  • kwalsh: @Dan, Regarding the last weekend update: Why don't you have any energy stocks in your portfolios? • john55: @Dan - I've avoided the U.S. #financials like the plague. The only bank I've been involved with has been $BBD, in Brazil, soon to be Asia. If the U.S. banks are flashing a buy signal, would you be involved in individual names, $BAC, $JPM, $WFC or the XLF? Seems like they have some catching up to do and we might catch a nice move. (long BBD) Thanks, John

  • john55: $BBD - I think I missed a good opportunity to add to this Brazilian bank. Pulled back after earnings, and hitting 52 week highs today. It looked like an opportunity, but I had committed to getting through this week before buying anything. Although I couldn't help buying some $FCX yesterday. :) John
  • john55: $BBD - We've got short term support identified at around $20.70. I could see this going into another volatility #squeeze. Down to my core position, waiting for the right time to buy more. John (long BBD)
  • fuzzball: $VRSN BBD Same thing here. Had a stop even well below the 50 MA. Figured it was very safe. Frustrating is an understatement. Stole my money and then recovered within 90 seconds. At least when I was stopped out with what I thought was plenty of room with $BBD it stayed down for a day. Seems to me like this could happen to any stock at any time. I usually check all my positions against pre market activity and the one time I can't...by by cash. Holding over earnings is a crap shoot...doesn't seem worth it to me. I really don't know how you make much money doing this...LOL
  • fuzzball: $BBD Big gap down in pre-market. Leave stops or pull them and wait for a recovery? Can't find anything but good news on earnings. What am I missing?
  • tangv3: $BBD - @fuzzball, I do not see any pre market trading in BBD. Where do you get the information?
  • dirk: $BBD - current bid/ask is 21.30 and 21.95. Still a hold for me, I think @Dan said he felt it was a hold in last night's vid. Dirk
  • dlylis: $BBD - @fuzzball, check your ticker. I show no premarket
  • fuzzball: $BBD Oops...you're right. Looks like the big sell off was in after market yesterday. I don't think earnings was announced until this morning. Might be a buying opportunity.
  • fuzzball: $BBD Not sure what's going on. Marketwatch has it down 2.89 in after hours...
  • jkricha: $BBD - Dirk - I take notes each night and @Dan said Looks like this is going higher, the night before he said you want to get involved. Hope that helps.
  • dirk: $BBD - jkricha, I'm in it so hope he's right, lol Dirk
  • jkricha: $BBD - Am I looking at this right adj $EPS of 2.38? Sales growth of 16 percent in 2011. If these numbers are correct, this stock is cheap and this is a buying opp.
  • fuzzball: $BBD Now they've got it updated. Only down about .60 before the bell. Thanks guys!!
  • Splendor: $BBD - good earnings but bad reception. hate that. my stop is at 20.85 on half my holding. How about you?
  • john55: $BBD - I let some go before earnings. Stop set just under $21 for some more. I'd look to buy it back on a test of the 50 dma. John (long BBD)
  • dirk: $BBD - just got home and I see I'm stopped out, will watch from here to see what happens. Could be the market is weighing on it. hoping for a pullback to the 40 day if market correction is not a one day wonder. Dirk
  • geewhiz: $BBD Decided to add some on this DIP. Seems like Brazil stocks being hammered - see VALE. Could be a blip or economic change in Brazil
  • dr.orangejuicer: $CH ECH $BBD SAN $CIB - Thought I'd drop a couple more South American plays to go along with @Dan's $ECH, $CH, and BBD. $SAN - Banco Santander Chile ---- Not to be confused with STD (Banco Santander Spain). $CIB - Banco Colombia ---- Colombian bank (did you guess?) Both with charts similar to ECH/CH. $SAN is at a decent buy point, imo.
  • ronda: Hello fellow SMM board members. I finally signed up and this is my 1st post. I love all the info and ideas that get post to the board. A heartfelt THANKS goes out to @Dan all other members of SMM. It looks like I'm off to a good start. I have been trying to buy these stocks at their lows this past month. Here's what I have in my portfolio now: $AAPL, $AFL, $AGNC, $AKAM, $AKS, $ATW, $BBD, $BP, $CYS, $DE, $F, $HLF, $HMIN, $HTS, $IVR, MICC, $NLY, PCX, PGN, $SLV, $GLD, $TGB, $VMW, $WIN
  • bonobs: $PPO No one took this trade? It has been moving up nicely since mentioned in the Strategy Session and #Cramer helped w/ a bullish mention on yesterday's show. Also its finally above its IPO pop high print. $CADX seems to finally be taking a break after blasting off. $BBD has also been a nice trade so far. All that being said, seems like the market is fading now. Its Friday, I'm going to sleep now (here in Hawaii).
  • eleKtra: @DAN Oops, that's what I meant (no coffee yet). Thanks. I am holding them, as well as $BP, $BBD, $MAS, and CRK.
  • jmscap: $BBD -- Would love to start a position in this one on a confirmed bounce off this pullback. Anybody else looking at this one? It sure seems like the $EWZ and some of these Brazil/Latin American stocks have been showing signs of life recently. I think $BBD would be a gift at the 50 DMA ~18.79, but a bounce off the 10 DMA ~20.29 would be great. It looks like the breakout occurred around $19.50 or so. Lots of areas to watch. Investors Business Daily gives $BBD a very high composite rating of 98 which is terrific and a good 2nd opinion. -- @jmscap
  • kirk999: $ASPS @DAN Thanks for beating 'initial position size' into my head ! I almost average down on this many times but waited for a bounce which never happened. Stopped out with no major damage to wallet or more importantly confidence. I'm moving that money over to $BBD this morning which will be my only financial play at this point. I ditched $BX last week with a small gain and it's looking like a nice bull flag but will wait before I re-enter. Kirk
  • DAN: Stocks that are working for me: $DOW, $GLD, $SLV, $FCX, $TCK, MEE, $VHC, $BBD, $ABV MAS, $MTZ, PCX ...to name just a few. Stocks that aren't: MICC, $NFLX, $CMG, $BIDU, $CIS, $VMW, MELI...to name just a few. All of the above stocks are stocks that I have owned during the past few days (some have been recent buys while others have been longer-term positions). The process I described earlier today is what keeps me from having problems in overstaying my welcome...or in leaving the party before the band plays its first encore.

  • john55: $DE - Nothing runs like a Deere. I added some yesterday, but not near enough. :) $WFT - Disappointing that it can't get through 17.5 on a day like today. Eyeballing those Jan 17.5 puts. $NFLX - Staying patient. I don't think it runs straight back to $170 $BBD - Loving this one. $AAPL - Added yesterday. Lots of other ones I wish I could have bought yesterday, only so much dough to go around. Friday and Monday were real tough. Especially yesterday. Today so far has been great. It's like hitting that perfect t-shot. Makes you forget about all the worm burners. For a little while at least. :) (long all the above) John
  • dkt: Dirk - Risk Metrics - I'm curious about what your risk metrics are telling you today. In your weekend soapbox, you said that your discipline has a buy signal, but that your risk metrics remained high. I was tempted to sell some of my holdings today, but they appear to have sufficient momentum to keep going, especially because the S&P broke through and appears ready to hold above ~1150 resistance. Had the S&P stopped today, I would definitely have taken risk off the table. • john55: $BAC, $WFC, $BBD I really like the action in $BBD brazilian bank. I have small position and want to add on pullback. It is weird to me that $WFC, $BAC are slightly up to flat on what seems to me as a pretty nasty tape. (long BBD) John

  • john55: $BBD - Brazilian financial that is going to benefit from the huge stock offering that Petro Bras has planned. 52 week high today. I bought a few shares a while back as a place holder. I'm tempted to buy more but I think I'll wait. Chart looks much better than the U.S. fins. John
  • mdkamp: I was also looking at $BBD this morning when the Reuter's article came across - Brazil 2010 corporate debt offers to top $40 bln. The article was enough to knock me off of $BBD and inquire about the debt - I've owned $VALE and $PBR in the past. I'm hoping to get back to my homework on $BBD this evening.

  • Russ: $ITUB, $BBD, $CPL, $GFA, $ABV, $VALE, $PBR For you list lovers, here are #Cramer's Brazil picks. The etf is $EWZ (which is heavy in #financials, energy, and materials).
  • kashmire22: $ITUB +3.21% - $BBD +3.01% - banks, $GGB rolled steel +1.04% today. Just watching and thinking about picking up a Brazil stock for diversification. Is this a reasonable pursuit? Rona.
  • Catwoman: Monday - BichonBob: You are entitled to your opinion, but I gladly disagree about @Tim Seymour. I have made a lot of money off of trades he advocated, including: $PBR, $IBN, $BBD, $VALE, $BHP, $SAN, and those are just off the top of my head. I'm sure I could find more examples of making double digit gains on these foreign stocks--and not just once! I've ridden the channel on Petrobras and others several times. Frankly, nobody offers better advice on foreign investments. I recommend taking better notes. Sincerely, @Catwoman ;~D
  • Catwoman: Re: APPL, et al Thanks, @Kevin. But, honest. No misery...At least not after I got my face ripped off, after which I was declawed and then neutered on Friday! It's all good. I had a tremendous run with those "old shares" of Apple. This is now a new trade for me. It's the only way I can (and must!) look at this now. I've learned a tremendous lesson about "staying the course" -- "my course," no one else's. No more getting spooked by others, who don't manage my portfolio, and don't pay my taxes or buy my shares for me...An expensive lesson indeed. @Catwoman ;~D P.S. As for the rest of my portfolio (all of which has been accumulated over the years from $AAPL profit-taking), my current lineup includes: $AAPL, $ACI, $ADBE, $BBD, $BX, $CHK, $GOOG, LINE, $NUE, $NVDA PBR, $POT, $QCOM, RIMM, STEC--the train wreck.

  • Catwoman: ??? For @Dan: In last nite's video, you said that $KOL is gappy "becuz it trades globally" . . . I am guessing that means that all global stocks are gappy? (I have a lot of foreign stocks, like $BHP, $PBR, $BBD, $IBN, and others)...So, are you saying that this "excess gappy-ness" is to be expected from $ALL GLOBALLY-TRADED stocks? I remember you stating in a freebie video that "all gaps have to be filled" (sort of like the vacuum theory of abundance), So, am I leaping too far in "assuming" that gaps do not necessarily need to be filled/retraced, if its a globally-traded stock? (this is a question I asked last nite, but received member answers about $KOL instead of about GAPS IN GENERAL) Thanks ;-D

  • richard9f: $EWZ @Steve, watch the two large names in this $ETF, $PBR and $VALE, for signs of stabilization. The banks have been taking it on the chin lately too, $BBD, ITUB. Overall, $EWZ could be setting up nicely if it can stabilize and bounce at the 50ema; 74.10 for several days and get the emas to turm up. And coming just after the mainstream media, #CNBC, etc. were pumping Brazil. Richard

  • jng369: Badly beaten down stocks. I wrote a filter to scan for all stocks which has been beaten down at least 70% stocks. With an recovering economy, I think that those stocks are probably ready to recover some of their lost as well. Even if they can recover 20% of their lost by the end of the year, that is a very sizable gain. This is the list that I am going to work on today and tomorrow to find some bargains. Pls add some comments if you can... $C, $MGM, $LVS, $DRYS, $AIG, DPTR, $DYN, $YRCW, $RF, $BPOP, $MTW, $CIM, $GCI, $RRI, $JASO, $MNI, $BBD, MI, WFR, $DDR, $GGP, $CENX, LIZ, $EGLE, $SRZ, $NCS, $SAY, $SGY,HERO, $PQ, EXM,OEH, $PETD, $WNC, $LEE, $TWI, $IRE, TSCM, $FR, TBSI, TRAA, APL, SUSQ. I just posted a subset. I will dig into some of the fundamentals of those companies to find some bargains...
  • Gabrielle: $BBD # This is another one that I watch. Price is peeking just above the upper BB today. Might be coming out of a volatility #squeeze.
  • Plenitude: James, @Bob I would love to see some coverage on China and Brazil My 2 cents - CHINA: add $STP, $SOHU, $BIDU, AOB, $HNP BRAZIL: $GGB, $SID, $BBD, $ITUB, $VALE and $PBR (already mentioned) Compare what the SP500 and Dow have gained with the IBOVESPA since end 2008. I was in up to early May ding very nicely. I have been going against the grain since... and wrong. Get with the flow! PS I will go on a rampage if the SP breaks down at 950!!!
  • dmooney9: I hold $BBD and see that a couple of other Latin banks getting high call volumne. http://www.optionmonster.com/news/article.jsp?page=commentary/in_the_news/bulls_charging_into_latin_banks_34275.html
  • SteveC: $BBD - Good morning from France! Wondering if yesterday's rally will continue or, if we will see another cycle downward... Anyone have any comments on BBD? My rookie opinion - it still looks strong and the sector (Regional Banks)looks good too, outperforming S&P yesterday. The Chart looks great: breakout above200emda, tightening BB, high stochastics, etc. But, i don't hear it mentioned this week in the forum, so, i thought I'd ask if its dropped off people's radar screens
  • aliabassi1: Technically $BBD has not reason to sell yet... what are your targets and where are your stops???? This bank is getting a lot of attention right now... I think it has another 10% to go before it hits resistance
  • dmooney9: I like $BBD and added to my position yesterday. I like it because its a play in Brazil. I also like the Canadian Banks and am long in $RY and BNS.
  • SteveC: $BBD - I'm using a trailing stop of 5% and will tighten to 3% after a breakout... ideas?
  • Ross_Q: $SQM got the kiss of death from #Cramer, along with $BBD on STOP TRADING today. I hardly ever watch #CNBC but was lucky enough to have #Cramer curse my largest position
