- PhilHarmonic: $AMC Almost at its pre-pandemic lows. When I was a kid we could go to the movies and see a double feature and buy some candy for $.30 (30 cents). Very affordable. Today it cost $30.00 for a single movie and some popcorn. So if you go with your family it could cost $120.00 for a night out.
- stairm01: @PhilHarmonic $AMC LOL Times change. When my wife and I got married in 1972, we had to pay $35 a month to rent the whole upstairs of a house, and gas was 0.25 and they gave us stamps that could be used to buy other things. :)
- drmike54: @PhilHarmonic $AMC At the same time you were buying a movie admission and some popcorn, you could buy a NEW Ford, Chevy or Rambler seday for less than $2,500. A new sedan today will cost you $35,000. to $40,000. (made in Japan, South Korea, or Mexico. Maybe assembled in the US with components made in Mexico, Japan or South Korea). And the negotiations with the car salesman are just as brutal as they were 45-55 years ago.

- Bridget: $AMC still has high implied volatility for such a cheap stock. Selling the $40 Dec put you can collect $4.15 which is 10% on an OTM put. People are starting to go back to the theatres. But the best part about short puts is the stock doesn't have to actually go up in order for you to make money. If you wanted to go further OTM, the Jan $35 put is also selling for over $4. That gives you a 28% discount from where the stock is currently trading.
