Kind of like sunscreen . Some are spf 15, 30, 50 and up but none really totally protect you from harm .

- DavidK: $SPY- finally making $$ on my puts . $IWM calls I bought for 1.90 yesterday at close sold this am for 4.50. Had other fish to fry this am so couldn’t babysit them . Got as high as 6 !!.

Figured $ IWM was due for crooks to buy into and finally sell off the bloated spy / qqq’s . Timing was off a day . On another note , bought a lottery scratch off ticket at store yesterday and drank a beer on porch and hit it for 2,000. Hit the exact same ticket for $2000 on 6-24 . It comes in 3’s so one more big one coming

- DavidK: $SPY trade the charts but beware of the fundamentals. $DE lowered big equipment sales 30% in the farming sector, inlaw is a Federal Bankruptcy Judge and bankruptcies are on the rise , 30% of farmers projected to go belly up in my area , banks are not renewing operating lines . We are in the process of selling most stock holdings and going 5 % fixed income . One more thing is the talk now if Trump wins the Dems will not certify the election. - Bert953: @scottrades $GOOGL yes, but though it looks like a good squeeze, the price is a fair distance above the 50 so it doesn't appear to qualify as Dan's money maker pattern. While price is also breaking out and is the highest on the chart, the doji (indecision candle) today is not showing enough strength on a weak-ish tape. Price is right on the 10 min VWAP and today's volume is also anemic. This would be a new position for me but I'm just not feeling the love. I have set alerts at $174, support zone and $181 resistance just above the HOD. Looking at FINVIZ 15 min charts that I keep on the bottom of a monitor, I see that all the indices are rolling over. The $DIA is the strongest, then $IWM, $SPY and $QQQ is weakest, being under Friday's close.

- Bert953: #MrMarket - Interesting that the $DIA is showing signs of strength moving up from a test of the recent lows. The 8 and 50DMA's are basically overlapping and the BB's are converging so a squeeze could be in the process of forming. The $IWM on the other hand is sitting just above a trendline from 4/19 to today. Price is < 8, 20, 50dMAs and looking weak. No surprise that smaller caps are feeling the hurt and the $MDY is pretty similar. $SPY & $QQQ are lounging around in the upper right of the chart but showing signs of weakening though they are > the 8dMA. I'm going to walk away from my screen so I'm not tempted to press the button and maybe harm myself. Since its already over 80 degrees, perhaps a visit to the beach or the pool would be time better invested.

Between Monday and Tuesday, they both gapped up on Monday morning, sold off with ... - dgrobo: $SPY $ibit Just now on CNBC, Tom Lee called SPY $5500 (up 4%) by end of June. Also called bitcoin $150,000 by end of year. He cites decelerating inflation, particularly in housing and car insurance. Thinks fed raises are off the table, maybe a cut or so to keep business cycle and stocks supported. Re bitcoin, cited the halving, institutional money going into etf's, and larger nubmer of wallets.

With patience waiting for the best possible index levels to buy and sell... the confidence is higher to really pile in, compared to single tickers. The risk is low of making a big mistake... when patiently waiting for the best index buy and sell points. Very small, compared to trading individual tickers... especially over night shocks. I would never put the amount of money into the market with a single ticker, that I can put in with patient well thought index derivative trades. FWIW...
