- StockMarketMentor: You won't get this until Monday, but RNA is in a pullback buy situation. IF the stock acts well on Monday, I'll suggest putting this on the active trade list. But for now, I'm just giving you a head's up on the potential trade. The Dow is very close to its all-time high, as is the S&P. The financials ($XLF) are at new highs. The Semis are hovering just below the 50-day moving average ($SMH), and $NVDA reports on Wednesday. So next week should be a real hoot! - phgruver: @champ $AMD $QQQ $NVDA #U-turn $NVDA is only 8% of $QQQ, whereas it is over 21% of $SMH. As for "competition", $AMD and $INTC are the only credible competitors, both having respectable 3-D Graphics Processors of their own. AI, of course, is a different animal, but it is being built on 3-D Graphics Processors. What $NVDA is trying to do is create a special processor that is optimized for AI. You think that $INTC and $AMD aren't working on it as well? The "moat" on this isn't as wide as some people think. $NVDA has a head start, but there are some really sharp chip designers who don't work for $NVDA....

- woodman: $ARM trying to move above the 8dEMA. The pullback took it down to the 200dSMA where it found support. It has a similar look to $SMH more broadly, but ARM is a little behind SMH's move above he 8dEMA. Lots of overhead supply, but maybe they can chew their way higher. For ARM, a move back to the 21dEMA and 50dSMA is about 11% and 24%, respectively.

- Nepenthe: @bigbartabs $SOXL $SMH And if you look at the $SMH weekly chart, which I don't believe you do, it's rebounded to the 21ma where it seems to have found support before during its most recent uptrend. No position at the moment, but there you have it. Or don't Cheers.

- woodman: @bigbartabs $NVDA - Indeed. I don't like the look here. A little fall out of the channel as it barely holds the 50d, with #Tech getting pummeled generally. Today is quite a beating for $SMH $XLK as they fall hard through their 50d. It's the third such beating in a week.

- StockMarketMentor: Adding Micron Technology ($MU) to the ATI List. This is a pullback buy opportunity that's holding the 50-day moving average. I don't see this as a "gotta grab it right here and right now!" trade. But it's holding up, and I can see a stop placement very close to the entry. The semiconductor ETF ($SMH) is printing new highs, and $AMD is holding its breakout from Monday. Basis: 136.00 Stop: 129.75 Dan

- phgruver: @billyzeke $SMH $NVDA is over 20% of $SMH, so keep that in mind. Chips, as a whole, seem to be in consolidation. Some chips, such as $AVGO, $TSM and $TXN are holding up pretty well. Others are doing a bit worse. $AMD has pulled back 27% from it's high, as has $INTC. That's correction territory! If the economy doesn't tank, though, I think semi's, and technology as a whole, are going to do OK. In fact, I would expect technology to lead any new surge higher, I just don't know when that will be.

The SMH is still okay and in it's sideways trend but I was beginning to get worried there when it looked like it was going break below that 219 level . Semis usually seem to lead the market both up and down so I keep a pretty close watch on them.

Despite $NVDA having another down day, I'd suggest the semi's in general by looking at the $SMH and $SOXL show them just taking a break and continued consolidation after a very good run over the last number of months. Seems like a healthy break and set up for a future run at some point.
- woodman: @bill52 $NVDA $SMH $SOXL - Fwiw, $NVDA has broken the daily chart trend by falling through the 20d. And, the 3/25 intraday high didn't reach back as high as the 3/8 intraday high. That's either a lower high or one might say close enough to call it a double top. Either way, these are cautionary flags. On the weekly chart, this is Week 3 red after 11 green weeks. So, perhaps this is a weekly flag with possible support here at the 8wEMA. And, it could end up being fine if it can hold 50d support (currently $40 lower). So, a couple ways to look at it, but, currently, this is a change in complexion and raises at least a yellow cautionary flag.

- phgruver: Two ETFs I watch very closely, $IJR and $SMH are approaching inflection points. Both are in tight squeezes, but could go either way. On Friday, $IJR traded in a higher range, but had a poor closing location on average volume. It's just above the 50DMA and has been in this range since December. Fingers crossed for a breakout above the $110.52 ceiling. $SMH is extended above the 200 and the 50, and is approaching an inflection point in a tightening squeeze. Volume was down, on Friday, but the price action was positive. It's right in the middle of the channel, and, really, could go either way. I'm hoping this is the consolidation that leads to another surge higher, but, as @Dan is always saying, hope isn't a trading strategy. Need to just watch and be ready to move.
