- phgruver: @Mckirdie12 Look at $XHB and $XBI. They are just idling along the 50DMA, well below their recent highs. Long term, they will probably work OK, but there's no "alpha", i.e. out performance. Keep an eye on them, but there's better places to put your money right now (including holding it as cash).

- woodman: $XBI top of consolidation range. Biotech has been beaten about the head and face for some time. But if we get good news about CPI this week, I'm thinking rate-sensitive, cash-needy SMID biotech could move decently.

Dancing with $LABU can rip your face off, unless played correctly. As Dan says, it's 'dancing with the devil.' So I follow bigbartabs on his 3xETF philosophy. - woodman: #Biotech stinking up the joint. $XBI hit the overhead 50d and has fallen back to the 8d/21dEMA. $ARDX gap-filling downward. My position is on the lighter side (relative to prior positions in ARDX), but I will load back up on this drop, particularly if it fills the entire gap. I'm letting it play out. $VKTX following the general biotech path down as it is ailing after some consolidation, today falling down through the 8dEMA and testing the 21dEMA. I am a big believer in both ARDX and VKTX and I have consolidated / will further consolidate my biotech dollars in these two, with all others a fraction of them. They are long term for me, though I do some trading around cores.

My thinking was 3 bucks a little over 1 year ago and the only reason it was at these levels was shorts getting shaken out that were too greedy to cover when this was in the single digits. Now I know it does not matter. I just keep hearing Dan saying a stock is worth what the market will pay for it. Even if the traders don't want to pay or are forced to the price action is the same. Good early call on GLD when it was around 188. I missed this one and don't want to chase it.

- woodman: $XBI flag above long-standing resistance back to early 2022. That resistance area has been a multi-top area for a long time. It's now hitting the overhead 200 week. But on the daily, it's nothing but space above with tons of room to move higher. Its ath was all the way back in Feb 2021.

If not, I wouldn't buy any until it breaks back above the green candle close 2/27. More likely could chop around this range for awhile. But then again what do I know... except Nepenthe is likely to get 10 feet of snow tonight. Gonna be a doosy.

My brother in law's family started / owned Paul's Plumbing in Reno... he, his brother, his dad, and his grandfather... big family business. I think they have all retired at this point. My sister and he have moved on to Medford, OR. I've spent a lot of time in Reno over the years. As a 4th generation Californian... its very enticing to think Nevada with all the problems we have in CA. In any case, good luck with the snow tonight. If you get snowed in, call Jeremy Renner up on Mount Rose. He's got a snow cat that I don't think he uses much anymore ==:O

Huge difference in the income. I don't think Renner to too far up the hill. Great that he has worked so hard and made a comeback. Hope you have no damage there.
- bigbartabs: @sierramp $XBI ... by the way, a few weeks ago we too had 50 mph winds here in the CA foothills. I planted a sequoia redwood in 1991 on our property, about 25' down the hill from our house. It's probably 80' high now. I've never seen its limbs flying around like that before. The trunk never moved... but I was just sure some of those limbs would be on my tile roof the next morning. Didn't lose a limb. Tough trees.

I stumbled onto this 1x ETF driving 3x method years ago, when trying to figure out a way to leverage my accounts without having to use options. Also reducing time spent trading each day. Many great traders here have the time to gun sling many single tickers, and do very very well with it. Time was and still is my problem. All the best...

And speaking of which, what consideration do you give the XBI weekly 200ma as resistance, through which we must break before buying more $LABU? Or is it a negligible moving average in your opinion? 101.44 is the 200ma, and it's bumping up against it as I type. I scaled back some but still hold a core position. Cheers.

- bigbartabs: @woodman $IOVA $ARDX ... that's why I like buying selling at the sector level... using 3x ETFs (in this case for pair $XBI 1x, $LABU 3x) I can be $ equivalent 100% in, and still have 66% cash ready to keep adding, or use for another 1x 3x pair. As long as the 1x 3x ETFs correlate well (most do, some don't)... hard to be out of cash, or stalled waiting for settlement dollars. Hopefully that makes sense. All the best...
