- phgruver: @woodman $PLTR I just checked the open interest for Dec 19 expiration. There are 17126 calls at $185, and 17219 puts at $180. My instinct is that the market makers will try to make both of them expire OTM, by pinning the price above $180 and below $185.

If I have lower confidence, of feel like the stock will stay in a defined trading range, I'll create a Bear Put Spread or a Bear Call Spread (or both). In either case, the max. risk is the premium paid for the options.

- StockMarketMentor: I've been getting a lot of questions about $PLTR, so I'm going to start tracking this stock again with a new cost-basis at 194.00 and a suggested stop just below today's volume-weighted average price (VWAP) and also below a key intraday low. As I have previously noted, the stock is stuck in the middle of a wide trading range after selling off in response to great earnings that the market apparently didn't think were great enough to keep buying. Take note that this is smack dab in the middle of a wide trading range. I think it's likely to grind at these levels for a while. Still, it's a high interest stock. Somewhat of a gamble given that it closed right at the 50d from underneath, but it was a nice intraday reversal and bounce off the bottom of that range on better than 50d avg volume. - traderbren: #Michael_Burry -- as we all heard, his hedge fund was heavily short $PLTR & $NVDA based on his 13F filing...but it's interesting to note that he filed a week early. My guess is that he was feeling the squeeze big time based on the significant short position in these names - hence making his 13F filing public earlier than was required. It certainly worked out of him! ;-)

- woodman: @djgustoso $PLTR - The pre-market pullback in PLTR is right to what had been resistance since mid August. Perhaps it will serve as new support. We'll see what happens today. I had no PLTR trading position going into earnings, but I have a healthy long term position that I held through. I'm not sweating that. It's the nature of long term to hold on through short term movements as long as everything seems healthy with quarterly reporting, etc.
