- Bert953: @scottrades $PLTR started a small position yesterday and added today. A trendline I previously drew on the chart from 6/5 shows R1 at about $160. Its amazing how trendlines seem to work. As I'm watching, the 10 min chart, today's gains in the 1st candle have been erased by the next 3. My stop loss is at $149.
- scottrades: @Bert953 $PLTR Good short term volume here Bert. Market is whipping around on new BLS data, but as long as you close above 148 low you're good.

I set up my trading platform so that a profit limit and a stop market order are inbitiated when I place a buy order. They get OCO triggered when these stops get hit. Of course, I do adjust them as necessary but its a good starting point that has helped me get a handle on managing positions. Maybe ask @Dan any questions you may have at the 11am session.

This increases the supply relative to demand, which causes the stock's price to fall. A sharp downward move on a chart indicates a high concentration of sellers, creating a "supply zone" where prices are likely to fall.

Shares of Charles Schwab , Robinhood, other brokerage firms, and banks dropped after a disappointing jobs report raised concerns the economy is weakening and increased the likelihood the Federal Reserve will cut interest rates. On Friday, the Bureau of Labor Statistics said the U.S. economy added just 22,000 jobs in August, well below the 76,500 analysts were expecting. The government also revised nonfarm payrolls for June and July lower. If the Federal Reserve lowers interest rates to spur economic growth, that likely would hurt net interest income, a key source of profit for banks, brokerages, and wealth management companies. NII is the difference between what banks earn on interest-bearing assets and the interest they pay to depositors.

So if you hold them long term you have a good chance of making good money. My opinion.

- Cjauger: @woodman $PLTR $APP. Me too, but I did trim 1/4 of it. Considering trimming another 1/4. $APP had a negative after-hours reaction after earnings. I got busy with work the next day, and by the time I checked, it was up 10%. I had to be very firm with myself, "don't you freaking chase it". Then it did a phase 2 pullback, giving me a chance to get in.

But holding them is okay as long as they hold support areas - seemingly the 50d for both. Granted, PLTR gave a huge fakeout move down on 8/20 with that big move down through the 50d, but it bounced back to close above the 50d. Similar thing on 8/25. I am long and holding both for now, but not adding to either at this time.

The CNBC host fired off a blunt warning on X, declaring, "Shorts momentarily ‘winning' with Palantir Technologies Inc (NASDAQ:PLTR). They best not overplay their hand. Karp knows all." That confidence in CEO Alex Karp comes as Palantir stock cools off—down 8% over the past five trading days—despite a monster 409% run in the past year.

- phgruver: @Mike2025Trader $PLTR That's kind of an open ended question. $PLTR got whacked, on the 19th, over concerns about it's valuation, and that it may be valued too richly for it's actual prospects. The hammer on the 20th, on huge volume, disagrees with that analysis. Now, it's ridding the 50dma as it soaks up overhead supply. Today's topping tail does suggest that there are a few more sellers out there, but the stock did close 1.64% above the open, on above average volume. Net net, I remain cautiously optimistic, with a bullish bias. I have a pretty good cushion in this one, and don't want to exit it too soon.
- Henry: @Mike2025Trader $PLTR I agree with phgruver it is a vague question. Wednesday was a good day chart wise. It put in a hammer on high volume. The case against PLTR (and I am long) is the valuation is higher than nose bleed. The 8 ema has dipped below the 21 ema. The way to deal with that is to not have a full position. Have half or a quarter and just hang on.
- Mike2025Trader: Good morning !!! I trying to stay a float last few weeks have been hard $RGTI $IREN $META $AI $BMNR all these have been losers for me. I am following @Dan and learning daily but I am afraid to trade now after losing about 10% of my portafolio. If it wasn’t because of stops I am sure it would have been worse! I want to get in $PLTR but I don’t know if yesterday was just a dead cat bounce!

Would not be shocked at 130 share price at all.
