- jwstich: @MongosPawn $MO $T $MO has moved up from what appears to have been a vol. sq. of relatively short duration in July. May be in Phase 2 but again is early. Not sure why it has moved up. Has really been in a narrow trading range for a couple of years. Usually raises dividend each year in Aug. or September and perhaps this is at least partially responsible for the rise. The current div. is 3.92 annually. I do not have the actual ex-div date but should be very close to Aug. 15. Currently about 7.8%

No new longs for now, put on some ETF shorts. I may be completely wrong but geopolitical rough waters ahead scare me into risk off for now.
- joelsg1: $NVDA $122 is a key level within the $110-125 range I targeted last week. Why? Because that's roughly the $3T market cap price and this stock has reacted at the big $T levels, this morning no exception.

Ugly overall chart, but better since last October's bounce (higher weekly low) and been tradeable recently as it bounces off of the 8 wma. Just sayin'.

It has been in a downtrend for many years and is now very close to resistance. Barron's had it as a favorite stock for 2022 and 2023 but it remained within the downtrend both years. It may be a good trading stock because its yearly ups and downs are substantial. I guess that you have strong feeling for this company or you would not have pointed it out in the Trading Room. But there are much better stocks to put your money into.
- gklee01: @PhilHarmonic $T I dont have a strong feeling on it. Any time a stock breaks out of a channel on strong volume it is worth keeping an eye on in my opinion. I am not the least bit concerned with what list this was on years ago I am looking for a swing trade. It sounds like you are only looking for stocks for your retirement account.

It took a few minutes but after the SOS icon at the top of the screen disappeared, I started getting text messages sent last night. I was also able to login to some secure sites where they use a text message for two factor authentication.

- MongosPawn: @Scottrades Wondering if you could comment on $T. Not sexy and very beat up but I like the recent chart pattern since July of higher highs and higher lows. However, it is approaching resistance from 7/5 and the 200 DMA is just overhead as well. However, the 8, 21 and 50 DMAs have crossed over recently and are in their correct order. And the 100 DMA is flattening out and MAY start to turn up shortly. Likely the smart play is to wait unit it's above the 200 DMA or wait for a pullback to the 8 or 21 DMA for an early starter. Any thoughts on my thoughts or any of your own would be appreciated.
- scottrades: @MongosPawn $T It's had a nice rebound off the lows this year but it's still in a longer term downtrend. It just hasn't rewarded you for holding even though it pays a divy. What I would suggest is a study of the $INTC Chart. That stock was in a downtrend for a while but has since changed the trend and starting leading a bit. I would wait till $T looks like $INTC and starts trending up again. I just think it's going to be an easier trade than trying to catch the bottom of a stock that's been in a downtrend since 2016. Hope that helps!

Old Turkey will currently say it is early innings in a bull market so investors should establish a core position and let them run. - Forexpro: Re: $AMZN Hi, Friends, Bloomberg.com, observing that Amazon Prime subscriptions in the U.S. have flatlined in part due to cheaper competition from $WMT ($98 vs $139 plus a lower threshold for free grocery delivery) reports that my friends in Seattle are negotiating with several carriers to provide free or low-cost ($10/month?) mobile phone service to members. Negotiations are supposedly ongoing with $VZ, $TMUS and $DISH. Not surprised to see that discussions are no longer happening with my $T pals. Not sure what sense this makes even if it comes to fruition in some form, but I'm generally interested in Amazon's shenanigans. $DISH is up nicely pre-market, $T and $TMUS down, $VZ flattish. - phgruver: @MongosPawn $T $T is just a shadow of what they used to be, but they do pay a 5.89% dividend, and it's well covered by earnings. It might be worth looking at for a long term, income producing portfolio. I do have some in a ROTH, I may have to take another look....
- phgruver: @phgruver $T OK, I've refreshed my memory. I've been in $T for a very long time, when it was in the $35 range. As the phone service business continued to morph away from land lines to cell phones, I made the conscious decision to not add to my exposure in communications. Then, earlier this year, $T dumped half of my investment into $WBD, a stock that I would NEVER have bought for any reason whatever! So, not only am I now invested in a company that I despise, I've lost 1/2 of my investment capital. I should also add, along with that "spin off" of a company they should never have owned, they cut the dividend in half. Short version, no thanks. I'm not adding, and am looking for an advantageous exit from my existing positions.

Sold T on the way down but still have 1/3 of my original position and left it in the drawer. Been reinvesting the divis, but not easy to hold that's for sure. Not my wisest move. Very long. ugh.

I'm watching to see what will happen post divx. Not the day I would nibble more. It is a long term hold. I wonder how the aggressive promotions are affecting $T, $VZ, others.
