$NTNX -- This one had a nice start and ran nearly to 67 before closing a bit lower than it opened. Not a good sign. it's basically a breakout that got rejected. And the bulls hate rejection.

- DAN: Active Trade Update Adding Nutanix($NTNX) to the Active Trade Idea List. Basis $63.97 Stop: $61.10 $NTNX is still in a bit of a consolidation phase. I don't think this is a "get it while it's hot!" trade. The stock looks like it's going to rest here a while longer after a 12%2B% move a few weeks ago. But, sometimes it's good to just get a small position going so you'll be more apt to track it. Irrespective of how you trade it, my suggestion is to place a stop just below the recent low from last Tuesday. If the stock falls below that level, we're wrong on the stock right now. So there could be a lot of supply just above where it is now...and that would put a limit on the potential profit on the trade. (I could be proven wrong...but that's my assessment).

I was looking at these but it seems like the stock would have to move a lot more to the upside pretty fast for them to pay off. I know this would be more of an OMM question but I'm new to this and both CMM and don't feel I can learn all three at one time. I guess my question is would it not just make more sense to be long NVDA stock just in case we grind around the 900 level for a while? I mean options cost money but owing a stock is free.

Currently, owning the stock is indeed better. I don't own those calls anymore. (I think I mentioned this on OMM a while back...and it's for the reason you mention. The stock is now in a trading range. And that favors being SHORT options rather than long options. So I agree with you. Owning stock is the best.

- DAN: @Momentariness $NTNX $OII That's a good question, momentariness. $OII is an early entry. It's not a breakout trade. I am probably a few days early on this. My view is that the 50-day moving average will hold the stock and that it should start working its way higher over the next few weeks. This is not a momentum trade, nor do I expect it to run fast.
