- champ: $VNOM...Viper-Energy had a nice earnings Beat and Raise, plus they raised their #production numbers, they raised-up their bpd.
- ray: @champ $VNOM #production $VNOM is a good company. Eight ranked analysts (source TipRanks) have an average target price of $38.13. It's a subsidiary of $FANG and announced yesterday that they have filed with the Delaware Secretary of State to convert from a LImited Partnership to a Corporation, which should increase the potential investor universe. I currently have it in a taxable account, but will probably add to an IRA.

A Crazier Fact.. $OXY bought $APC (Anadarko) in May 2019 for $57 Billion and today $OXY has a market cap of $28 Billion .. with a Fat 9.9% yield... ex div 3/8 .79 share

I have been working with others on certain targets, in this sector, however I'm only swinging a few real small test positions, for now. I don't like waiting because I saw some great moves to today, in certain positions. I did trade $FANG and $GUSH today but I'm not swinging. Remember this sector is over-sold because of that Virus News, so it is not really over-sold. This sector is only for trading, off of what you think others might do and it is almost impossible to swing anything....but there is hope and Monday, could be Day-1, for a few more small swings. .....Check out that OPEC news.

- DAN: @MikeL $VNOM Hey Mike. Earnings are due tomorrow, so that's a risk. Assuming you accept that, here's my thought. YES, it's a good thing when these key moving averages come together (particularly the 50 & 200). If you've already got a position, just make sure that you're willing to increase the position prior to earnings. If the stock moves above $35 on good volume, I think it would be a better time to add. But, as I always like to remind people, we don't KNOW which way the stock is going to move, particularly around earnings. So just think clearly. Seeing a setup is only part of the process of trading. Make sense?

- DAN: @MikeL $VNOM OK. And remember that a stop doesn't guarantee that you'll get filled if the stock falls through the stop price. If VNOM gaps down below your stop, you'll be selling at whatever that gap price is...unless you use a stop-limit order, which creates a limit price rather than a market price if the stop is triggered. Get it? If not, let me know. I want to make sure you understand what happens when your stock jumps around when earnings are released.

The thought is that with the long base this sector should be ready to make a move and want to be there for it, but these tend to be whippy and not the easiest to get into in my experience
