- ProfMike1: $XBI, $SUPN Biotech is one of the better performing sectors today. XBI has formed a higher high, then higher low. Now breaking above higher high. Biotech is largely unaffected by inflationary pressures. Take a look at SUPN. Inverse head and shoulders starting around 10/15/21. Now breaking above neck line. DMI suggests green v red crossover in a day or so. Target is about 35.85. IMHO

The Index is rebalanced and reconstituted on the last day of each trading week after the U.S. stock market closes and is published by IBD on its website, www.investors.com, and at least once weekly in its print edition. This weekly rebalancing and reconstituting of the Index will cause the Fund to have a higher portfolio turnover rate than similar funds." So, you may safely infer that rebalancing occurs weekly, but not necessarily on Monday. It may take a day or two.

- beld: $SUPN Would like an opinion. I am off about 3% and want to sell except some indicators are suggesting it's worth holding, i.e. stochastic and ppo.
- captron: @beld $SUPN The weekly chart looks fine to me if you want to hold it and that's normally what I go by. I usually buy the pull backs when I can. It is a pharmaceutical so it always risky. JMHO.
- Reif99: @beld $SUPN Seems to me you either have to get out now or be willing to risk down to $45.50. It's in the middle of the range. The other thing is $51 looks like a near term ceiling. So your near term upside from here is only about 6% or so. So it looks like a coin flip to me, which, while I've traded much worse is probably not recommended. Lastly, in keeping with the tenets or this web site, what was your thesis on the price when you bought it? Is it still valid? If not, you have to admit you were incorrect and get out.
- mrmike: @beld $SUPN There's support around 44.50. That would also be right at the trend line. Chaikin Money Flow is turning negative. I would have an exit plan with the way the markets trading.
- beld: @mrmike $SUPN Thanks for all the replies. Given the reason I bought it, I think it's time to sell. Don't think I want to risk a bigger loss, even as a long term holding when it is not outperforming the broader market and buyers/sellers showing no mercy now. Thanks for keeping me on the straight and narrow.

$SUPN was started as Buy and assigned a $66 price target (versus a $39.05 close) at Berenberg. Supernus has a 52-week range of $24.05 to $50.05 and a consensus price target of $50.63.

- Tangojoy: Tangojoy $SUPN @traderbren@Dan Thank you for posting news about halting $SUPN. I was able to sell at the open $45.44, saving many bucks! I have learned one really good lesson from Dan, sell at the first hint of trouble, that small loss can't grow into a large one! This hasn't been easy for me I used to wait and "hope" for a recovery. I'm a long term investor, not a trader and really enjoy all the information in the forum.

- Esther: $PACB more stuff .. the pop today reminds me of some other biotech breakouts $AUPH was up 18% on Jan 24, just before the beginning of an enormous run. $SUPN was likewise up 10.6% before it broke out on November 14, just before it broke through the 50 day MA (PACB's 8 EMA just broke through the 50 yesterday). SUPN had also been beaten down, though not nearly as badly as PACB. PACB has been growing revs and earnings (or rather shrinking its loss) since it went public. But had a significant set back in 2016 revenues fell by 2 percent and the operating loss more than doubled. But the CEO said they are on track to increase revs 40 to 50% this year. Since the beginning of 2016, PACB has lost half its value. Average analyst PT is $7.42. I guess I am talking myself into taking a small starter position ....

Final authorization is conditional on Supernus resolving a marketing exclusivity issue regarding a specific pediatric population. The FDA also denies a Citizen's Petition filed in 2011 by Upsher Smith Labs related to its NDA on Trokendi XR.
