In company news, Globalstar (GSAT) skyrocketed more than 63% higher following an Appleinsider report the new Apple (AAPL) iPhone 13 equipped with Qualcomm (QCOM) X60 chips will allow users to make calls in dead zones by connecting with low-Earth orbit satellites. Shares of Globalstar rival Iridium Communications (IRDM) also were climbing over 10% on speculation Apple will partner with it - rather than Globalstar - for satellite connectivity.

- DAN: The next magical trick for Cathie Woods -- manager/originator of Ark Invest (flagship ticker: $ARKK...which I have a small position in) is not going into outer space. I'm reading the firm just yesterday filed to launch a space exploration ETF. The following stocks are the most likely to be in that fund. $SPCE $MAXR $SRAC $NPA $VSAT $IRDM I'm sure there will be others, but those seem to the the obvious ones. They are all up bigly today, and none of them are (in my opinion) buyable right now. But still...something to watch. --Dan

Even though I had sufficient ... - steve71: $IRDM Iridium moved to ATH in the last few minutes. 85% of the globe has no phone or internet connectivity. $IRDM is activating its new NEXT satellite system for worldwide broadband and data (satellite phones). Also using those satellites for an aircraft tracking system called Aerion. Aireon will take a year for revenue results to ramp. Total 141 satellites. Great FCF for the next 10 years because the infrastructure is nearly complete. 16% growth in 2018. Like American Tower but 485 miles up. ER 4/23.

If it breaks below it get out. 50 SMA support daily chart and potential bad news is gone from the successful launch of their satellites from a space X launch. 2/22 earnings lots of time for this to go up 2 bucks tot he top of the channel providing it does not fail here. - PhilHarmonic: @newbietrader15 $IRDM Lots of down days on above average volume. Looks like it might try to bump the 200dma. This bounce off the 50dma could be a short term oversold bounce. Lots of overhead resistance in the 11.5 area. Doesn't impress me.

- grcjr: @captron $IRDM $GSAT - The news: $IRDM earnings anticipated 2/23. COO Form 4 sold 117,952 shares at $9.60. CFO sold 132,123 shares at $9.60. Lot's of reasons insiders might sell but I consider this a probable negative. On a possible positive side, Space X set to return to flight Jan 8. Seems like a binary play. $IRDM is likely to jump on the launch but which way. I've also been looking at $GSAT but missed the recent move.

Dan suggested a tight stop of 3% but I've also heard him say that as soon as he can put a stop in that gets him even, he likes to do that. - bigbartabs: @champ $IRDM ... 10 satellites... it used to be in prior decades that a signal took up to 2 seconds to the bird, and then same back down... making phone conversations extremely awkward. Telecom must have really improved their switching speeds in that loop to make satellite voice and data comm fast enough to pacify customers.

Thanks Lou for the info that on the 10th of Jan NRF NSAM & CLNY will combine into one so they are zooming up. $FSFR pays good divies and is appreciating.
